Uncertainty Is The Only Word To Describe The Atmosphere In Iceland

The uncertainty is not getting any better since this while scenario started on November 10th 2023 as the land uplift remains unchanged according to the latest info package from the MET office. In general it's expected that the ongoing eruption will intensify or that the ground will be torn up by several km. long erupting fissure, like we have witness several times before. In such case, the lava barriers are not able to hold back and that an issue thats being worked on right now by the Civil Defence. I have already processed lots of unpublished video that will be online in the next days, the longer reports take a while to make with ever changing news coverage, and a bit of flu didn't help me either, but i'm fine now and look forward to show you more scenes from my recant filming tours.

I imagine that the scientific community has learned a lot from these eruptions, especially since they are so accessible these days.
@shiraz1736
@shiraz1736 17 дней назад
Not really there have been years of eruptions studied around the word, it’s probably the most questionable scientific study you could claim to have. Every one of the so called scientists has basically said. “We may have an eruption today, but the eruption could take another week that depends on a lot of factors that we can’t calculate, but the intrusion could also stop overnight and this could be a failed intrusion and things could go back to normal”. Go and look at the predictions a tarot card reader could be a volcanologist after reading a few geology books.

@teardowndan5364

We may not know for certain but we do have at least two main contenders: 1) the existing eruption gaining intensity, which it may already be but hidden due to most of the lava flowing under the lava pool's rising crust and 2) the fissures re-opening to let the excess inflow out #1 is likely already happening as a matter of basic fluid dynamics: more inlet pressure + same pipes + same outlet pressure = more flow, albeit impeded by viscosity, boundary layer drag at the walls, bends, etc. #2 is only a matter of time based on previous events. Previous eruptions occurred between 8M and 13M cubic meters reservoir capacity, it was around 10M a few days ago, may have passed the 11M mark by now. We're maybe a week away from the reservoir reaching its highest estimated capacity to date. When it goes, I wouldn't be surprised if the old fissures lit up beyond the three destroyed houses in Grindavik.

@@teardowndan5364 Agree with you there. I thinking along a broader sense, the peninsula, the ocean ridge alongside and everywhere else like Hekla and Katla that have been so quiet of recent, not to mention the less well known areas. I wonder how big Iceland will become, the next North America or Europe sized (it has unimaginable potential).

It is rare to see nowadays reporting being made with so much passion, honesty and personal integrity. My hat is off. I am not sure whether it is in the cards, but I think that you could made a great job making a series of short interviews with the people that were forced to leave their hometown and now had to adjust to live elsewhere. How they have been impacted and how they find their way in short, medium and eventually long term.

It is sad that the town of Grindavik is losing homeowners, but I understand that the people who lived there need to move on with their lives. You made a previous video about the numerous faults and fissures throughout the town that are the reason why people can't live there again without a huge effort to rebuild the infrastructure. The GPS measurements showed how the two was stretched by around 2 meters in November 2023 through January 2024 due to the magma intrusion at depth. Even though it only reached the surface in a small flow, that stretching is permanent damage to almost everything both underground and on the surface.

Thanks so much, yet again, for a wonderfully thorough update - accompanied by steller video! Let us hope that when the magma chamber DOES decide to empty itself out, it decides to do so in a civilized manner, via the currently erupting vent, so as to merely add more to the existing valley-fill, with any excess flowing to the coast to help create an even better harbour for Grindavik! 😉

You know if I had any money your channel would be among the first ones I'd support by coffee or patreon or whatever. It is as it is and you are in my thoughts and comments, sending you witchy powers and good vibes for your health and your life and the red stuff we all love.
