I'm in a Black American who understands the Jewish experience is more analogous to our experience. However, I see three problems in today's climate finding allies within the Black community, apart from the widespread lack of understanding the history of the conflict. 1. Palestinians made a proactive alliance with BLM around the time of Ferguson and have been cultivating that relationship. It's no different than what was done historically aligning with more militant Black civil rights leaders (Malcolm X, Angela Davis, etc.) 2. Because of the polarization in today's American politics, anyone seen aligning with Trump is going to have trouble being seen as a "victim" in the left's oppressor-victim narrative. While Trump was much better for Israel than Biden, he was/is seen as an enemy to American minorities. 3. Being against DEI reinforces this apparent alignment to Trump and anti-minority policies. While I gather Jewish resistance to DEI is more about being left out of DEI initiatives, the perception will be "anti-minority". As you know, the Palestinians are faking this alignment to make it appear as a simple oppressor-victim set up the West can latch onto.

You've summarised much of what lies beneath where we are today.. the Black Israelite Movement is vile also (not to be confused with actual African Yehudim, many of whom were relocated by Ben-Gurion et al,. to Israel). Postmodernism, Postcolonialism, Critical Race theory and Intersectionality are rather penetrative. They create, promulgate, and consolidate victimhood and divisiveness.

@@MendyMarcusit was a big thing in France in the 90s. But France has a strong laity background. Is it the same in Canada? French civil law allows to pass laws like you can't wear religious items in a public or government job because the state is secular. But you couldn't pass laws like that in a common law country like Canada or in other former British territories for that matter.

Regarding Hasbara : I think you are partly right, but on the other side I believe that we Jews as such a small minority of 0.1 % (or less?), have a huge disadvantage against 99.9% of the world population that don't know Jews and don't want to learn about Jews and Jewish problems and facts. I really hope you ladies get this message… I’m sure you would agree that the diaspora is experiencing a culture was of sorts (and hopefully nothing worse in the future). The only way I see to fight cultural wars is with culture. To do that, I would like to call out to ALL JEWISH ARTISTS to start getting creative. Paint, draw, sing, dance, perform, and do what we Jews do best - elevate whatever society is lucky to host us at the moment with culture.
