This review was helpful to me as someone who was considering these for actually playing basketball. I like barefoot shoes but for basketball, you definitely need a bit more cushion (even if less than most bball shoes). Will you be purchasing the 2.0 version they are shipping in February? I'm hoping they solve most of these issues...
Thank you for this video!! This is exactly how I want shoe reviews to look like. Loved you showing the shoe in different workouts and explaining everything along the way. Was the updated pair any better? And did/will you try the 2.0? Appreciate you!
Good review. I also wear 9.5 (and my foot is not wide, probably more narrow/medium), so this let me know how it would fit. Sounds like that first pair was not made well. And I hate those round 'cottony' type laces--they never stay tied. I know that Vibram also makes some flat types of shoes. I wish more stores carried them (I'm hesitant to guess at shoe size for an amazon purchase).
Wow, what a great review! I wish i would have watched this before ordering. It seems their customer service email is pretty backed up and they have not responded to my inquiry. I wear a size 10 in altra and xero shoes (which means I followed the altra and xero advice to allow some space between largest toe and front of shoe) and I am not sure if I just should have ordered a size 10 or follow their advice to size up to an 11. I ended up ordering size 11 and I am really hoping they aren't too big and feel like clown shoes on my feet. I too ordered to support a movement for healthier training/ basketball shoe but have not tried out the knees over toes regimen. Thank you for creating this video, i have followed your channel and look forward to learning more stuff from your videos
Thanks for such a thoughtful comment! Yeah their current restock seems to be more true to size, so I'm optimistic yours will fit well! They DM'd me and sent me a new pair size 10 that fit perfect now
@@JoshThrives Of course, thank you for your response. I am a size 10, do you think I should have gone with their size 10? I followed their instruction to go up to size 11 since I use size 10
@@hood4thought699 I'm not sure if their sizing guidelines changed for their most recent batch, so i don't know. They used to have only sized 10-13 but now have size 9 too, so i'm not sure if every size just got a bit more snug so they can now call the 10 a 9 now, or if the numbers are still accurate to the batch where they were telling people to size up. (idk if that makes sense haha) You should be able to exchange it if it doesn't fit, they were super easy to work with imo
@@JoshThrives I hope so! Although I have heard they don't accept as many refunds as many would like since they are still a small operation. It may have been that they exchanged yours since your video can be very useful for their brand's promotion. It would be a pain to have spent this money on shoes I cannot wear ! 🥴Hoping for the best!
Thanks for the review! Have you tried Vivos before? My Primus Lite 3s have held up remarkably well, on 2.5 years, and still going strong (with some wear finally starting to emerge).
@@JoshThrives Awesome! Well, give them a try next time you're in the market for some new shoes. Also, stoked to see some new fitness/KOT content from you!
@@sevegarza Go larger; I'm in the same boat. Too small defeats the purpose of the shoe. Or you could order both and return whichever fits less well. Vivobarefoot offers a 100-day return policy - even if you've worn them all 100 days!
I absolutely love that you covered this! Wide toe box zero drop shoes should be a thing! Have you seen some nba players feet!? I play tennis and some basketball, plus weight lifting and I'm so sad that there aren't wide toe box zero drop shoes out there that have some cushion and wide base for lateral stability.
As an ATG member these are now selling for $80. Would you say worth it for $80, also considering the model2 doesn't ship for another 2 months or so? I have some bunion issues and I'm looking for a very wide toe box shoe that could even accommodate the ATG toe spacer.
They would probably be pretty good, I don't play tennis though so I don't know what makes a good tennis shoe specifically. I guess I didn't make a title/text on screen, but talking about the ripping showed where it lacked durability
other than the foot-shaped toe box, minimal shoes aren't really realistic for a lot of sport. there is just too much lateral movement on surfaces that the human body isn't used to (especially cement) for it to work out. so i'll be sticking with tennis shoes for tennis, lifting shoes for squats but i may get a minimal shoe for my sled and plyo work
I agree but my problem is I really want a shoe that’s basically a barefoot being flat without a heel. I find it puts unnecessary stress on my ankle when moving forward or sliding forward. My search is not looking bright
if you wear socks you're losing the effect of spreading your toes. Get used to it wearing it at home first and if you can get toe socks. Those are not acceptable if breake soon, over 100€ you can get another barefoot shoes: Anatomic4all, Lems, Vivobarefoot, Belenka and Saguaro.
