@@TheJusDon Hey! I lost 2 bags to contam (out of 8, not bad) There are 4 almost completely colonized and ready for transfer and the other 2 are chugging along but a little slower! Side note: I also just inoculated 8 more with Pink Buffalo a week ago! I’m hopeful for these also! I’ve heard this strain is very resistant to contamination etc.

Hi Carl - yes, I built it myself. I bought a laminar filter from midwestgrowkits for $95. It’s supposed to be a replacement filter for the bonsai flow hood. Im using the same fan spec’ed for the bonsai as well. The body is from a local Plywood specialist that precut the wood for me. I spent $275 for the build. The Bonsai retails for about $500, so I saved a few hundred doing it myself. In regards to using your hepa filter, I’ve seen some builds on Reddit and also here on RU-vid. I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t say. But there are definitely some videos out there for reference. Cheers!

@@heliosmushroomery9264 I'd love to take the next step and DIY a flow hood. I've seen a video on this but the cost of the build was still over $400. I'll dig deeper but it would be good to know the rate of airflow needed... if that is even something we can calculate. Keep up your good work!

I have a Martha tent ate at 74 and humidity is at 80. I think i have my substrate wet enough have the gypsum not using coffee. I honestly don’t know.

Mushroom excrement, it's supposed to be ok but not ideal there are ways to work with it I guess

Laying down is better, it spreads the moisture more evenly throughout the bag so the growth doesn't get wet rot or stall out

@@scalip36 Yep in a still air box just cut about 2 inch slit in the bag and resealed it with micropore tape, it did work out well too colonized fast about 2 weeks.

Black soot wont contaminate the bag. That is what i was told by experts. Tgey also say dont wipe needle with alcohol you contaminated it if you did.

gotcha, essentially the black suite is just burned dead carbon. I just find it easier to cut the chimney corners and hold em closed with like a sterilized womens hair clip. then tape with micro tape. Ive ran into issue where the chimney wasnt allowing enough fae @@tedkravos7129

Hi - the hole puncher method is pretty good. However, using a sterile needle to make multiple smaller holes is more effective in preventing contamination.

@@bigfootscreepyuncle3197 I inoculated 8 uncle bens bags with a MSS and didn't get a single contam. Only two bags didn't colonize. I then spawned to bulk, picked the best fruits and cloned to agar. Just stop with all the negativity already.
