This song was composed when the composer who was a soldier was injured in Vietnam war. This song was first released in 1970 to commemorate Uncle Ho who had died in 1969. Although Uncle Ho had passed away, our soldiers kept on fighting and eventually, we united our country in 1975. At the present, Vietnam is a independent, peaceful and fast-growing country. As being a Vietnamese, I'm so proud of our ancestors who sacrificed a lot for our present happiness.
As an Irishman, I am inspired greatly by your country’s efforts to grow and maintain independence from any imperialist nation that dared challenge Vietnam. I hope someday my own nation will know the same glory Vietnam does when she reunited in the name of Socialism and Freedom
as a vietnamese i just feel bad about some parties in the south of vietnam hiding its real crimes... (not a nationalist but yep it's seemingly horrifying to me after i discover the truth.)
i respect yall for your gruesome and dedicated fight for independence, but yall are communists and your country is highly corrupt. the richest people are the politicians, among other high ranking military and government officials. corruption at it's finest. still, i admire vietnam for their fight against american imperialism, and i wish your country the best of luck.
@Болотный житель It's true. Also during civil war the whites leadership was mainly Swedish. When the reds were mostly Finnish (the people). The reds only killed killed 4 people in prison camps. where the whites killed over 11 000.
"The greatest fighting race to ever exist" Vietnam is an inspiration of freedom for so many nations, including my own native Ireland. Long live Vietnam!
I once heard a woman give a speech in Vietnamese. It didn't understand a word, but the unique rhythm and intonations of the language made her more engaging for me than any of the other speakers. This character certainly seems to have carried over to Vietnamese music. This is beautiful! Respect from America.
Slowly man!? I wish it was Thing change really fast here in VN, education is the example(i'm 17 btw) It's getting harder harder and harder, the amount of project, presentation also homework keep increasing. Idk if i could make it through college but i know that i won't give up For the future of my nation
Even as a speaking tree myself, I never heard of this version before. Props to you Ingen for bringing in this rare version. Also, I really love how you showed 3 different sizes/states of Vietnam territory throughout the video. A great touch.
@@SimplyDuker he also introduces us to brilliant songs, in my case: Ukraine is not yet lost Varewell, Germany! Her Kurd Ebin Pesmerge me Einheitsfrontlied Flower of Freedom and far more
out of all the communist some, this one stood out as: -really catchy melody -meaningful and inspiring lyrics and convey the true message of the party -riles up the determination and zeal of the vietnamese people -evokes a sense of patriotism and perseverance in the people -doesn't glorify war, mostly focus on independence and patriotism
As a speaking Bush, this version has bring me more tear than any other, feel like i am a NVA soldier fighting for libetry and wealthy of this glorious country 🇻🇳
Hello comrade Just a few corrections if you dont mind The nva didnt call themselve as nva They called themselves as people army of vietnam (pavn or vpa) to show that vietnam is one and only There is no north vietnamese army or south vietnamese army There s only one and only vietnam s people army Plus, nva and vietcong was used by the us and allies not us ourselve
Greetings from Argentina🇦🇷 total respect for vietnamese people, all are warriors forced to fight for its country!! Womenx children, men...all to be freed from invaders!!❤️❤️❤️
Năm xưa, Bác cùng đàn con đi chiến dịch Rừng còn nhớ, suối vẫn trong in hình bóng Bác Cả đoàn quân tiến theo Người như thác đổ Điện Biên năm nào vọng lời Bác giữa chiến hào Can’t hold my tear everytime this part kicks in…
Đi! Ta đi giải phóng miền nam khi quê hương nhà vẫn còn bóng quân xâm lược . Thì ta còn chiến đấu , quét sạch nó đi, lời Bác phát lệnh tiến công ! Bác kính yêu đang cùng chúng cháu hành quân! best part in my opinion
I hope more people would click on "translate" on this comment, to hear what the actual Vietnamese have to say, rather than the United States narrative.
The map of north commies regime is absolutely true and accurate. It proved that South Vietnam territory belongs to South Vietnamese people, north commies gtfo of our land :))))))
My Vietnamese Nanny sings this sometimes lol. My Great Grandfather fought the French, then my Grandfather and a few of my Aunts / Uncles fought the Americans. My Grandfather kind of worked with General Giap Nguyen. Luckily, none of them died in the war.
Well my great-grandfather and my grandma’s sister fought the french,my grandma fought the Americans and my grandfather used to be in militia during the Vietnam war, sadly he died a few days ago.

Very nice, as a Vietnamese, i’m very proud of my country and our brave Heroes who liberated the Vietnamese people from the Imperialism and Colonialism hand. Anyways, this Video is good to be honest, thanks for the upload of the version of this song💖💐👍 From: Vietnam🇻🇳❤️
The struggles of the Vietnamese were nothing short of heroic. Western history lessons downplay how the only explanation for the invasion can be a suppression of the will of the Vietnamese people. The indescribable atrocities commited in Vietnam by the US and allies cannot be excused. Solidarity and respect from Germany.
@@bonktonk74 Imma call cap on that considering the US literally bombed entire swathes of the countryside and the whole war was fighting the peasantry and working class of the country. The war was started under false pretenses and was propping up a US puppet government that the Vietnamese people were fighting against. I consider every civilian and soldier who died past the point that the South Vietnam puppet government would have fallen on their own to be squarely on the shoulders of the US who extended the war past when it would have normally ended. Also, your numbers do not include the South Vietnam military and state's civilian killings, which are part of this, and also assume that the people who were classified as enemy combatants actually were enemy combatants, which is hard to determine when you are literally the people of a country. It also fails to include bombing victims during the war in Cambodia and Laos as well as 400k deaths from Agent Orange. This all doesn't include the fact that the whole war was based on the Gulf of Tonkin lie and was completely unnecessary if the US didn't decide to protect its imperialist interest in the area. The South Vietnamese government was about to be defeated before the US intervened and they had no business involving themselves in Vietnamese internal affairs. The US are not the good guys here, and there's no use muddying the waters.
Here in Quebec, where the Vietnamese have been since WWII, we actually "belong" here (meaning: average Vietnamese men here are married to local French-Canadian or other Francophone women, like my uncles and male cousins); that's more than I can say with English Canada, where the biggest losers are found in the BC or southern Ontario areas.
There're two things Ingen has (deliberately or unintentionally) forgot: 1. "Civil war" is definitely not the right way to describe the Vietnam War, even if it's mainly carried out by the North Vietnamese/Viet Cong or the South Vietnamese. Someone may argue that both sides were supported by Soviet Union/China and US respectively, but while the Eastern Bloc's support is almost completely restricted in technical and logistics, the US interference was much more broad that it dominated all aspects of life in South Vietnam, from economy, culture, social affairs to military operations. Therefore, the Paris Agreement had effectively put an end to the South Vietnamese regime, because it wouldn't be able to fight against any uprising and/or offensive conducted by NVA/VC without fire support and field forces from the US. To sum up, this war is completely a struggle of Vietnamese people against the America and an US-backed, corrupted and illegitimate state. 2. From 2:10, it can be seen that the Paracel (Hoàng Sa) and Spratly (Trường Sa) Islands has been excluded from the Vietnamese flag map. This may be blamed to the fact that North Vietnam/VC hadn't controlled them until the end of VNW, but Vietnamese sovereignty at Paracel and Spratly Islands must be reminded.
It is poetic justice my friend. You fought your ally (America) to give power to your enemy_thru_history (China). And all that for what? So that your compatriots can be black marketers for dollars...... (I used to live in the communist block and saw first-hand) Now your "comrades" are swallowing your islands one by one and you can not do anything. Or are you gonna join AUKUS to fight China now??? hahahahah!!!! That would be full-circle happy end...... 2 million dead in the war, just to join America again half a century later. Goes a long way to show you how short sighted people can be.
@@AntonyMaridakis Actually we are currently having no "ally" at all, because we're now calling them "partners". But the US has been our "ally" since when? 😹 Anyway, what's more important is both America and China has stabbed us in the back since the war (the Battle of Paracel Islands, you know). Moreover, both of two powers actually wanted Vietnam to be divided permanently (just like N. and S. Korea :v), and China wanted a buffer zone just like NK to deal with threats from US allies in the ASEAN, while Americans demanded for an "outpost" to stop the domino effect which would spread communism across Asia. Therefore, we wouldn't fight to give power to anyone, and if you can see now, we're rather carrying out "swinging" (more exactly, "dancing") diplomacy to maintain a balance position between powers, which will ensure a long period without war and make way for socio-economical developments, in order to make Vietnam a developed country and a power before the WWIII (maybe 50 years later from now on). On one day, we may have to choose a side, but now it's obviously not our concern.

I am a middle school student with a Vietnamese mother who lives in Korea. When she saw me listening to this song, I thought she died fighting in my previous life, so I asked her to teach me this song.
@k. By the end of the Vietnamese Civil War, those who would benefit from a Communist Vietnam had more important issues. For one Khrushchev wasn't keen on supporting the Ho Chi Minh, he wanted a two state solution to the war, while his successor Brezhnev supported Vietnam he didn't rule over the country and he couldn't exercise his power over it either since he was engaged in an internal power struggle and once he got out on top of the Soviets became embroiled in the War in Afghanistan, the Viets have slipped their mind. Similarly in China the Cultural Revolution was in full swing so newly unified Communist Vietnam was largely left to it's own devices and even today Vietnam is seen more as a China aligned independent country rather than a puppet of the rising China which speaks volumes about their sovereignty. In comparison South Vietnam's resistance consisted of a French puppet regime headed by the notoriously unpopular Emperor who ruled during the colonial days and then came the RVN which was just as much of a dysfunctional puppet show propped by the US. Just look at the kind of support both regimes got from their benefactors, North Vietnam got Soviet military aid during the best of times and nothing when Khrushchev cut support, meanwhile the US continuously dictated the South's internal and external policies in all matters and the South saw an unbroken flood of economic aid as well as direct military assistance, it was essentially an American front and once the US withdrew their complete and unconditional support, the several decades long struggle ended rather quickly.
@@gabrokkerhun dude, it wasn’t a civil war if the American brought South Korean, Australian, Phillipino and Thais and other allies to support South Vietnam. They can’t be tourists that fucking fell into a guerrilla booby trap, right? They fucking invaded us
@k. the Saigon government was an dictator, the fact that lots of South Vietnamese supported the North and the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam might helps
This is a great version, you made a amazing concert version of it, I didn't hear this before. Anyways thanks for this rare version, a greatest version I've hear. Edit: ☭☭☭
The Vietnam War/American War will always be a focal point of my interest and life. My mother's family fled South Vietnam in February 1975, just a few months before Saigon fell. Yet while I despise communism and the North for what they did following the war, I do not feel the same animosity towards the people and soldiers of the North. They fought for their home, their people, and to me communism was the banner that would truly advance Vietnam as a whole. I have the utmost respect for Bac Ho in uniting Vietnam after years of being colonized and subjugated, even if he himself could not see that dream come true. Greetings from the states and a first generation Vietnamese-American.
@@KZ-sm7le It is because the puppet government apparatus and the United States have propagated communism as bad and slanderous. They must have been afraid of being bloodbathed, but those who stayed behind were surprised to be sent into the re-education camp and then out very quickly. We were very benevolent not to kill or torture them unlike the French did to the people who had been in the area occupied by German
@@KZ-sm7le Basically what An Pham said. My grandparents were government workers for South Vietnam, and with how similar people were treated by the North and VC during the war, they fled to the US.
And it was a civil war, it was between the North backed by China and the Soviets, and the South backed by the Americans. Both north and south fought France, this was the beginning of the Vietnam war. The north and south disagreed on which direction Vietnam would go though. The North invaded the South, and America came to the side of the South.
@@brianwalsh9595 You're going on wrong track there, my friend. Only the North and the predecessors of the NLF fought the French, while the South Government and everything it stood for, is the direct descendance of the old French colonial collaborators, bearing a new name and sucking on American money instead.

This is probably the rarest version of this song, I know another orchestral version of this song as well, it isn't powerful and as massive as this, but delicate nonetheless. It reminisence some theme from this recording version too : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xzxdI3QDVTU.html . You can say this version is powerful, showing the willingness and strong motivation to the people, while the version from the link i added here is more sincere and delicate

This is the 1st time I hear this version ! Truly powerful & my heart beat fast & faster and it bloomed when I heard the last sentence “thousands blooming flowers” ! Epic !!
Love from America! I’m sorry for what we did to you Vietnam. A lot of my uncles fought in Vietnam and they hated the war. My family was effectively by the chemicals used in the war. I hope for prosperity in your country!
As a patriot I always prefer the classic one. Its sounds more orchestral and authentic.. I do not understand why we always use the modern or they called "electronic" version nowadays. It sounds really cheap to me. I hope I speak for everyone.
