Children, I'm sorry, but he was one of a kind. A superlative minstrel and churchmen was our beloved Uncle Ralph. We here in Baltimore will never forget the many visits he made to Cornerstone and St. Martins. When he came to town, we would have impromtu concerts. You talk about a time...ah...my goodness!!!
This explains why I love gospel so much. Uncle Ralph left such an impression on me. I always knew Uncle Ralph had a purpose for this Jewish white boy from the suburbs. My memories date back to the late 70's when I was only 8-9 years old, but it felt like yesterday. I can hear his voice and smell his aftershave right now. He was a sweet man and a good soul...he will be missed.
Uncle Ralph passed away in the late 90s. I attended the memorial service and o what a time was had. Many of the compositions he wrote, were sung. One that stands out is JOYBELLS. For those who dont know, First Church of Deliverance is not to be under estimated in the gospel arena. Many church choirs and musicians have learned from their multi talented musical department. First Church has set the tone and standard for gospel music many years ago, in and out of Chicago.
Guc1001 No truer statement. When you go to look up special music, i have learned that so much came to us from FCD and Chicago. I will not even take about the amount of music coming from Detroit, too.
Sing!!! It's so good to see Ralph Goodpasteur! Those of us who are too young to remember, or those of us who aren't from Chicago, have heard so much about him. God Bless his memory, his spirit, and the legacy that he left behind!
honey, Miss Goodpasture WAS...NOT....PLAYING games with y'all, ok?...the wig is bouncin' and behavin'...and his vibrato was clickin' and clackin', honey.
I dont feel like "telling you I enjoyed the selection". I wanted to make fun of his wig...and I did. I dont have anything personal against Ralph...but if you dont like me making fun of his nappy wig, you can keep that to yourself, ok sweetie?.
@@Lawrence_619 No, it's important to always have a rebuttal when the devil gets started. Can't let his words be the only words in the room. Don't let him use you like this. Jesus sacrificed Himself so that you and I don't have to have the same end as satan. Also, please stop using the term "nappy". It was a word created by VVhite supremacists who wanted us to think our hair wasn't as good as theirs. Don't perpetuate that lie. I hope at some point you'll rethink your words on this video and delete them. Regardless, God bless you, Brother.
