thanks for doing this video! I am an older single woman who needs to learn how to do these things on my own. When I googled "how to unclog a garbage disposer" your video came up and I did what you suggested and BAM ! I now have a working disposer! thank you!

Had a problem with my disposal for months and than it started to back up. So I went through the steps, and got to the hexagon wrench and was able to reach the turn thing by sitting in a chair. AND it work!!!! You were a major blessing to my day THANK YOU!!!

Girl THANK YOU!!! For days I have been washing my dishes in a bucket because I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Turned the blades with my wooden spoon ( it was def jammed cause it was hard to turn at first ) and heard something. Turns out it was a Halloween cupcake ring that got caught in there! You are awesome! Thank you!!

Girl, it took me 2 days, 7-8 hrs (total), & 1 RU-vid video (this one, obviously), but I was able to troubleshoot my issue, unclog my drain, AND un-stick a VERY stuck screw that was lodged in my disposal thanks to following the steps & info of this video. Saved myself *at a minimum* $150-175. Now, I also know what to do in the future if this happens again. THANK YOU! xoxo

just a tidbit, most disposals are fairly dull so. . . if you're sure there's no glass or whatever. . . than by all means use your hands. . .

What if you put too much inside like artichoke stuff and blade is turning but water is backing up and not draining at all? Any ideas? I am happy I cooked but not happy I clogged the disposal

That's a tough one. Try putting a bunch of baking soda and vinegar down there. It will foam up and hopefully loosen some of that stuff up.

ChickFix USA thank you, while watching other videos one other dude was suggesting something like a drain fluid helps, so I figured if I pour half bottle clorox down the drain it would melt all those artichokes and maybe help...and it did after waiting like 15 min. Now its working all good. Thank you for help too ;)

How about flushing leftovers (not bones and thing like that of course) down the toilet for those who don't have a garbage disposal??

Not sure I would do that. The disposal chops things up into tiny pieces and flush out with water. Stuff like that would clog up you toilet for sure.

Technically it's "unjamming" but when people search, they are more likely to use the word "clogged"

I hate to be the negative Nancy but I have been married to a plumber for 30 years, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THE DISPOSAL! It is not a food processor! But your video is exactly what you should do to unclog, good job.

You're not the first person to say that, but most people when they look up something like this will type "unclog" rather than "unjam." But since you are the second person to mention it, perhaps a title change is in order.
