Uncovering The Hidden Fairy Tale Shoe House Of Isle Of Wight's Undercliff!

An unexpected find at the bottom of the cliffs between Ventnor and St Catherine's.

Discovered early one morning back in the Summer when I was climbing around the Undercliff.
The site included a large shoe house similar in design to the one in Blackgang Chine and a Children's castle, I have no idea how long this has been here of when it was built.
Filmed with Panasonic gh5.
Edited and graded in Adobe Premiere Pro 2017 and the music was created by me in FL Studio.

This is a little video that I filmed over the Summer of an interesting site that I stumbled across by accident, I've been working on several big video projects which is why I haven't uploaded for a couple of months & I'm putting the final touches on a really awesome explore that I hopefully will be able to share before Christmas.

Abandoned Isle of Wight Does anybody remember the topiary hedge of the RMS Queen Mary that was outside a house in StLaurence? The gas board cut it down to dig an effing trench for a gas pipe!! What kind of total oxygen thief does that? Cannot divert a trench by a few feet? Douche bags, to quote the yanks.

Hello, abandoned Isle of Wight, today I went for a look for this by the road that fell in st Lawrence, but couldn't find it, is there any chance you can tell us where aboutse it is, even if you comment privately, but on the plus side, when I was looking for it I found a cave which I believe was a smugglers cave, Reply soon, Reuben Wallder

I remember visiting this garden in the 90s, the owner make a few concrete items like this for his own fun, he also has a miniature railway around the garden too, Weston was his surname, I think he also took the first floor off the possibly fire damaged large old house he had to salvage it and raised some of the floors, really pleased you posted this, i have'nt seen it for 30 years, thank you!

I love visiting the island so much! I have such fond memories of the "old ladys shoe" from fairytale land at Blackgang too! Remember trying to explain to my kids the first time we took them to the isle of wight about the errosion etc. Tour videos are amazing!!

I’ve been going there for 50 yrs and my brother has lived there for 20 odd yrs, rides a motorcycle and has explored everywhere. But he’d never been over the turf walk between Totland and Alum bay over Headon Warren. Best views on the Island.

I watched this again recently, and it reminded me of something - and then it struck me. The video game 'Just Cause', whilst being a great game, has lots of 'Easter Eggs', which have nothing to do with the flow of the game, but are just fun to find - for example, there's Thor's hammer, Mjolnir; a set of dinosaur footprints, the complete island from 'Lost'. Yes, it's as cheeky as that. The Isle Of Wight is just like that. A beautiful small island that tourists think they know, yet chock-full of utterly fascinating, odd, beguiling, and sometimes downright creepy stuff, that they'll never know. But people in the know of the islands' 'Easter Eggs', like you, are here to show them to us, and beautifully, too, and for that, I'm truly thankful. Cheers! And a happy new year to you!

Really? who was your aunt as i knew the people who owned this property and know exactly where this is. Not to far from that shoe was a tennis court and if you went to the main house there was an old abandoned root cellar. I remember this from the 1970s because my friend Johnathan Evens lived very close and is related to the owners of the property . Surprised it's still standing to be honest.

The land owners have since put up a very nice polite notice at the site asking folk to please not give the location of the site on social media. Makes a change from the normal over the top threats..

I know this place i grew up in Niton then moved away. the Evans family use to own this place but that was back in the 70s. Wonder if Johnathan remembers his old friend who moved away to canada sometime back in the early 80s

Awesome! I manage The Buddle Smugglers Inn at st Catherine's and haven't managed to actually get out of the pub and explore yet! How would I get down there from the pub? I do split shifts occasionally and have 2.5 boring hrs to burn. A walk down here and back would be amazing. X

The Nutters Workshop it’s quite far away from Blackgang, I think this was built in the grounds of an old holiday camp

Ashley Mazillius yeah there’s still one at Blackgang that one is fibreglass (I think) whereas this one looks like a mixture of concrete and hay... don’t really know much else about it, was a pretty unexpected find when I climbed down from the cliff 😂

Got a camera for Christmas and i am going to take photos and hopefully vids of this kind but of climbing stuff too I live on the isle of wight too. hammerhead crane look good to climb

Hammerhead has a pretty cool view although the top is super sketchy so it’s hard to recommend & without the scaffolding it’ll probably be a bit exposed, good luck with your filming and be careful 👍

Galactic Centre can’t see it from GoogleEarth, I literally climbed down the cliff which I really can’t recommend, it’s pretty sketchy... (you also can’t see it from the top) It would be difficult to get to it along the bottom without getting spotted as it’s on private land and it’s pretty curtain twitchy round there

My BFF lives here and this is private property. the police have been and had a chat with the owners; CCTV will soon be in action. Also it is dangerous to go inside of it.
