Progress so far is very encouraging despite the late cold. I noticed how cold it was in the shade during one of my recent forays, like winter trying to hold on. The joys of spring!

Thanks Pete, It’s certainly nice to be able to enjoy spring but I agree it’s still a little nippy. There have been a few setbacks this winter but that just opens other opportunities to develop the garden.

That’s a big lean on the cordyline, and good to see the Tetrapanex is still alive

Thank you, yes the Cordyline has a great lean and last year had three spikes and looked quite brilliant. None of it was planned it just happened. I have no idea what will happen with it this year but wait in anticipation. I too am so pleased the Tetrapanex is still alive, I have been quite concerned as we’ve had a harsh winter.

We have a tree fern growing outside our bathroom window. I am surprised to see it able to handle your english weather. Tough plants those ferns. Your tropical jungle looks magnificent, although a bit worse for the weather after the winter (no pun intended.....🤔) I can imagine how it will look like in a couple of months👍

Thank you for commenting. The tree ferns can normally cope an English winter if protected. I wrap in fleece and also place fleece in the core but I have to admit this is the first year I have had sole custody and the winter was severe. I’m pleased to say it has survived.

@@OurEnglishTropicalGarden It is normal for us to have temperatures above 40C during our summers and we get frosts in the winter. Yet the tree ferns can deal with all that providing they are not exposed to direct sunlight. They are tough plants but I am still surprised it can handle an English winter. I think you are doing a great job.
