Hi! We're Nick and Jen, a retired military veteran of 14 years and professional dancer/entertainer at Coyote Ugly Bar. Together, we decided to sell everything and break free of the glitz, glam and chaos of city life to move off gird. We live on our 20 acres of remote land in the mountains of Southern Utah.
We’re trying to be as self sufficient as possible by installing all our own utilities and doing everything DIY with as much modern technology as can make happen. Living off grid is about the freedom to build our own path one plank at a time. Life, indeed, is Elevated Off Grid. Come along and see what life is like as we continue to build our property and adventure around Southern Utah's mountains.

Kinda funny - I actually have this high on my priority list as well when I get back up to my property lol. Loving the content guys. Also - PLEASE when you're yanking on things do not use the ball! They do break and its not pretty when that happens. If you have nothing else to use, pull the hitch out and use the pin! It's double shear and if it does break its much less weight going flying.

Try this my friend put the chain as low to the bottom of the tree and put one of those big wheels you have standing up pull the chain over the tire and pull with the truck that should be easier

Nick, here is a hint or clue, if you burn say five cords of wood build a shed for ten or twelve cords so you won’t run out on those winters that are extra heavy snow fall or extra cold temps. That way you won’t run out when you need it most. Love your channel.

I know you’re trying to save money but I had the rock problem too. Ended up making a perimeter of 4x6 pressure treated beams and setting that on piers then building off of that. Saved a lot of time and labor. I think it evened out the cost. 😊

Jen, I think I have heard that comment before lol. Drill Baby Drill you got it right. My AF brother, I pulled down big cedar trees with my truck just hooked chain up high and had long chains chained together and just rocked it down no problem at all. Got to be up high though. God bless in all things.

You two had me laughing out so loud my wife asked what Comedy Film was I watching. It’s strange how some words are so close to others when saying them. Here in UK 🇬🇧 we have so many words spelt the same be separate meanings, like Lead, A dogs lead or could be Lead Piping. Great idea with Camera, believe it we have CCTV cameras, the only animal other than Dogs or Cats is a Fox who walks round the houses at night looking for food. But Bears is another story. Have fun digging those holes. See you soon, love to all ❤️💙❤️💙xxxx

Next time it maybe easier to loosen some dirt around those trees. Also grab a crowbar to help break the rocks rather than a shove. Just some ideas, no criticism. Have great week, until the next 😊

Pallets. Great idea! Make the woodshed big enough to store at least 8 cord and with room to do your splitting in there too. Make it high enough to swing an axe. I used pallets to stack the wood on and 3” gaps in the boards girding the shed. Lots of air movement to dry the wood. 😊 My shed was 24’x24’ and 10’ to the rafters. I could rotate the wood as it dried.

You City Folk, It's called a " Wood Shed " LMAO VERY,VERY dangerous pulling with a chain, esp one as small as you are using. A BIG WIDE strap is more of what you need in this situation, a Kinetic rope would be the best though. I use Pallets for my wood shed also. I used the pallets for the floor, married them together with 2X4's, and nailed them all together. They are up off the ground with brick and block. I then stripped the entire floor with 2X4's. Mine is smaller than some, is about 9'X18'. The 2X's were given to me, and the roofing was given to me, I basically bought nails for my nail gun and Screws and caulk to patch the old screw holes.~~ $100ish in the whole thing.

Guys if all the holes have so much rock in it as long as you can get a couple feet down, if you’re on bedrock you can cement it together for your 4 ft holes. Why kill yourself to dig out bedrock. Always a good time to watch though. 🎉❤

Yeeaahh Jen give me some of what youre taking,🤣😅If you could bottle that Big Seller, Always Happy.!! If you releasedthe earth below the trees it would have made it easier to pull out. Good you take advantage of the good weather and do outside jobs, Good to get vitiman "D" into you'all, and good for the kids to be outside. Thanks for the video love from UK @ 4 pm in the afternoon. x x x

You didnt have 4 cords of wood unless you filled that pile about 4 times. FWIR you did 2 stacks of 16" logs, 12ft long (3 pallets), and 4ft high. You had 1 cord of wood and you still have some of it left. Again unless you filled it multiple times off camera. I do remember you got the hardwood once or twice from another person's property but you didnt specify if that was 1 cord each time.
