hii everyone,
I got jaw surgery to correct my underbite- enjoy my pre-op and recovery vlog. I documented my before and after jaw surgery as well as the first two weeks of recovery (vlogs + photos). I got a Lefort I Osteotomy + Bilateral Sagittal Split Osteotomy + Genioplasty.
I got my double jaw surgery with Invisalign instead of traditional braces- I couldn't find anyone else who took this same route. After consulting w multiple oral surgeons, they all told me the orthodontic treatment I chose (braces or Invisalign) would make no difference in terms of orthognathic surgery.
Let me start by saying I researched multiple non-surgical alternatives to correct my class III malocclusion (underbite) and TMJ problems (my jaw would constantly lock wide open). After having years of orthodontics in the past, my teeth were positioned correctly and this was ultimately a skeletal issue.
Reading about and watching other people's jaw surgery experience was SO helpful on my jaw surgery journey - so I figured I would do the same in hopes to help someone w similar issues.

At this point (2 weeks), I am not 100% happy with my jaw surgery results. If you notice, I'm not smiling in most of these photos- this is because my smile feels off centered. I have not yet met with my orthodontist or followed up with the surgeon so I will discuss my concerns with them and update you guys on the outcome.
**the next video will be more straight forward/informative, I just had a little too much time on my hands these first 2 weeks of recovery so I had some fun w this one ;) lets also ignore how ugly I look in these photos- struggling w my skin, zero makeup, and just woke up in half of them. oops.
