One thing bf1 did well was the variety of weapons. You can find enjoyment in just choosing an underrated weapon you've barely used and get kills with it.

You forgot to mention on the M1903 Experimental, you can switch the bolts out and make it into the Infantry Variant. Good for close quarters and medium-long range sniping.

I saw a guy once with patrol carbine and he had like thirty something service Stars with it (not complaining just thought it was interesting)

Is it just me, or I’m noticing more people using the Cei-Rigotti? I’m thinking because of the new skin it got.

I will always remember that moment I found the Ribeyrolles 1918 (Optical) in the selection screen, thought "huh, this weapon has a bipod, it must be a more long range smg" and then ended up shredding everyone at practically all ranges. Love this gun.

M1903 experimental is actually pretty good now you can switch to bolt-action mode. You no longer have to limited to very close range combat or shooting peas at enemies at longer ranges. Its one of the most versatile guns in the game.

Madsen is a hidden gem. Love this gun.

Perino is a beast. Rsc smg optical is a beast after the patches too. And I love the russian trench.

The Howell Automatic and the Autoloading 8.35 are definitely underused...

Finally some low for some of my favorite guns. The perino and the Russian 1895 trench are both godlike, and I actually got a 20 kill streak holding down C point on Achi Baba with the Perino. Just wait for the brits to pop their heads out from the trenches at B, fire, replace a few ammo strips, and repeat until taken out by a barrage of goddamn rifle grenades. However, one gun that I feel has remained in the shadows since the game’s launch is the Autoloading extended. It has an amazing time to kill, a wicked nice reload time with that box magazine, and until the Fedorov, which I believe was what finally put down any chance the gun had of becoming popular, was released, it had the highest fire rate in the medic class. However, it was always overshadowed by the SL sweeper for being fully automatic and the Selbstladter 1916 for ammo capacity, and then the fedorov happened, which took the two sticking points of those two guns, gave it a higher fire rate, and essentially became the dominant medic rifle in the game.

The M1917 Patrol Carbine is a blast to use. It's really fun to chip away health of players at long range, and the 41 round magazine makes it perfect for it. One of my go-to weapons when playing as Assault on wide open maps.

I've been using the machinenpistole experimental lately and I really dig it. Underrated for sure.

Definitely agree with the Machinepistole Experimental, was so surprised at how good it was when I first used it!

Starting in order... MP-18 Experimental... I personally like the gun but the reason it isnt used as much is because for aimed accuracy the Optical beats it and for hip fire the Trench beats it. It does fall somewhere in between, but in BF1 hip fire seems to rule the day for the Assault class so it's no wonder people choose the Trench model over it. That and it's the starter weapon, so its going to see more use as a result. The Experimental is good for long range shooting but the Ribeyrolles is superior in every way at the same task, so just isnt much a point to it. Doesnt make it bad, just makes every other option a bit better. Browning A5(12G Automatic).. Again another gun I really like, especially the Extended model. I find the Hunter when firing too quickly to have poor resettle times and its going to take 2-3 shots depending on the range and health of the target, typically it's a 2 hit kill. Well... IF you're going to use the Factory or Hunter model, the Sjorgren Inertial is going to be a better gun. Same capacity, about the same range, can actually 1 hit kill potentially when not hitting an HS, and comparable reload times. Not to mention the new Slug variant is actually pretty beastly. The Extended would be better than the Sjogren Factory model in ammo capacity only, and it can and has made a difference on numerous instances. The Browning A5 is a really good gun and I think I prefer it to the 1897 Trench Gun especially after some of the nerf's it's gotten over time. But the 1897 can still 1 hit kill, the A5 cant. Russian 1895 Trench... I used to love that gun, it was the first Scout rifle I had a service star with and was one of my favorites. Until I realized the Infantry model was pretty much superior in all aspects and more importantly, the Gewher M.95 Carbine was more or less the same gun but it did a 2 hit kill at all distances and now with the Carcano in the game... The Trench model just doesnt serve any good points now. When there were limited options it may have been better but now it's just not as good as it's competition. Again, still doesnt make it bad... Especially if you want a more "aggressive" Scout type but like I said, the M.95 Carbine is a better gun in just about every way imaginable as is the Carcano. And now with options like the Ross Infantry as well, it just has gradually made it less and less useful. M1912/P.16 Experimental... It's good compared to the Storm model, considering the Storm got nerfed to the same ROF as the Automatico, had less ammo, and had way more recoil, it quickly became obsolete. The Experimental is still a good weapon, but compared to other SMG's it's just not as consistent and not a good choice. Selbstlader 1906 is a great Marksmen weapon, good ROF, 3 hit kill at any range, but the General Liu has taken over it's slot. 6 shots instead of 5, same 3 hit kill, now with the Liu's "Straight Pull" mode, it's a 2 hit kill at any range like the Gewher M.95 is, so what's the point in going with the 1906 anymore? Aside from the higher ROF the M1916 Selbstlader is a superior gun in EVERY way possible, even the Autoloading 8 is a superior gun now. The Perino is a good LMG, I feel like the Browning M1917 replaced it due to having a higher capacity, but I prefer the reload on the Perino to the M1917 over it for sure. Compared to other LMG's it fits in a good spot as a whole and I do still see this weapon quite often, but the LMG 08/15 has taken over the top slot for sure. The RSC SMG I've found IF you use it in single shot and with the Factory model it's actually pretty good... Easy to control your ammo count, easy to stay on target, and actually make effective use of the weapon. But it's primary strengths which is it's damage are overshadowed by it's lack of ammo, which is why every other SMG is generally if not always the better option. The Cei Rigotti is hands down my favorite weapon in the whole game... It's a very balanced weapon, has full auto and single shot capabilities, it's easily a match for the more popular 1907 SLR Sweeper or Factory models. While it has half the ammo they do, it's 3 hit kill range is greater, it's vertical and horizontal recoil is better, and the Factory model is easily more stable than the 1907 Factory at all ranges. The Cei Rigotti has gotten plenty of buffs over time and I'd always found it to be a good gun, however with options like the Fedorov out there now, you see the favor of ROF and ammo over precision and damage. But then again, guns like the Selbstlader 1916 while it may have a slower ROF, it has more ammo and is a 3 hit kill at all ranges which makes it a great choice. I prefer the faster time to kill as often I'm closer in than I am farther away thus is makes up the difference. But now with the Farquar-Hill, it just doesnt get chosen as much. All in all, yes the Cei Rigotti still has a place and people should check it out if they havent already, but as I mentioned there's primary reasons why you dont see it as often. The M1917 Carbine is a great weapon, it's definitely not for the nooby Assault guys. It takes some effort, but it's well worth it for it's high accuracy and high capacity. It's hands down my favorite Assault weapon and had been looking forward to it coming in the game since the launch announcement. The Trench is far superior to the Patrol model however... Way better hip fire, aimed accuracy is on par just minus magnification, and number of rounds to kill will be the same, so it's best to just keep it in the Trench variant. Now, compared to other SMG's, IF they beat this gun often it's because somebody has a weak trigger finger, but if you start spam firing you'll likely secure the kill every time due to the increased damage. Ribeyrolles guys will likely beat you most times, as well as the super high ROF's like the Automatico. But I've beaten Hellreigels often with the M1917 Trench so it has a place in my eyes. The Madsen really should be more popular... considering it has a slightly lower ROF than the BAR but has 10 more bullets, does the same damage, and the Low Weight model is an amazing gun. Ultimately compared to other LMG's that have 100 rounds or greater it may not be superior, but as far as LMG's you use for assault style play it's easily the best or at least one of them. When compared to the BAR, the Chauchat, the Huot, and maybe the Lewis gun, it has more ammo than ALL of those except the Lewis gun, it has a higher ROF than all of those except the BAR, and it has better recoil control than at least the BAR and the Lewis gun, so it really is a shocker it isnt as popular as it could be. I've always found it to be reliable and consistent throughout the entire life of this game. The General Liu now with the Bolt Action mode is much better than something like the RSC, but as a whole it's still not that great due to it's total capacity. It's under used, not under rated. I think it's appropriately rated because people understand it's lackings quite well. In semi auto mode, it's on par with the Selbstlader 1906, not as accurate but accurate enough, takes 3 hits to kill at any range, has 6 shots instead of 5 so it can at least kill 2 people per clip unlike the 1906. Which to say the least isnt that impressive when you stack that up to the RSC which can kill 3 per clip. Well, with the bolt action mode it can now kill 3 per clip, but the RSC still shoots faster making it superior in that regard. However... at long ranges, it's still a 2 hit kill in Bolt Action mode like the Gewher M.95 thus making it superior to the RSC at long range damage potential. But I can tell you if you plan to play a medic like a Scout, just play a Scout... you'll do much better. Lastly... with the M1903 Experimental, I always found it to be a wonderful weapon. It was the only gun that let you play aggressively with the Scout like an Assault. However it has been buffed over time, when the game came out it was weaker than most sidearms, including guns like the Frommer Stop, the 1903 Pocket Hammerless, and so on. It's definitely better now than it once was. But if memory serves me correctly now the M1903 Experimental has the bolt switch mode to change it to the M1903 Infantry. It's a good gun to use for leveling your Scout up if it's low because it plays more like an Assault class. And I do still use it from time to time, I just dont play my Scout much these days.

Damn nice video, kinda funny to see how many of these guns i actually really enjoy using. Madsen low weight being my used used, followed by the 1903 experimental. And for those who don't know this, there is a glitch with the 1903 exp, where you can skip the switching animation by either: Pedersen device to k-bullets: - switch to your secondary - switch to k bullets (this does a complete animation skip) Pedersen device to .308 rifle cartridge - press your "fire mode selecter button" (default "v" on pc) - see that the animation starts op (muzzle being lifted rapidly and left hand moving to the rear of the rifle) - switch to secondary - switch back to primary (enjoy your brand new infantry rifle)

Something I dont see very often when hearing about the 1903 experimental is that it can also switch back and forth between the pistol rounds and a regular bolt action mode if you need to use a regular scout rifle to nail a long range shot

Sadly everyone I play with only ever uses easy noobmaticos and scrubriegels... god forbid one day I die to a m1917 carbine. Shame bcoz it really is a great gun. Same for the rsc smg. I see its potential but I don’t have the skills to use it well. I shall suck it up and give it another go now!

I LOVE all the weapons in this video, most of them offer very unique variants and game style.

This why I like the assignments in the game requiring use of some of these weapons to unlock them. It exposes you to many weapons that you thought were underpowered, but instead just underrated. The RSC SMG was one I was very surprised with because I thought the low mag would make it arduous to use, but the heavy hitting rounds made it fun to use. The 12G semi-auto shotgun was another that surprised me with it's ability to take down several enemies in a pinch. The Selbstlader 1906 was another weapon which initially annoyed me with its 5 round capacity, but the quick kill times made it interesting to use up close and accurate for longer ranges. The Sniper variant definitely takes advantage of that.

I've got 11,000+ kills with the autoloading 8.35 marksman on the PC. It's my favourite weapon on the game, and in the right hands can be very op, yet I hardly see anyone use the auto loading except for the .25 extended

I actually really like that RSC SMG, it's like a two shot kill, it has decent range, and you can just tap fire it. If youre panicking in close range, you can use full auto. Its good in almost every situation.

If you ask me, the Madsen is the best LMG in the game. No overheat, quick reloads, good damage, controllable recoil. The only issue is the sights, and switching to the AA sights works wonders since it raises your aim, leaving less of the mag blocking your sight.

The P16 Experimental is a beast to use, love it. The General Liu is awesome for wailing on camping snipers - it has become my bright copper kettle or warm woollen mittens :D

I REALLY like how the MP18 experimental has a regular stick magazine instead of the really weird-looking drum mag.

Good list! I personally like the Russian trench, madsen mg and the p16 experimental (the savage beast) the most, but these are all definitely worth using

The General Liu's ability to switch to a bolt action mode with a sweet spot makes it great for defending objectives, being able to take out enemies approaching from a distance and those up close with ease is really useful if holed up in a building on an open map.

You forgot that the 1903 experimental can also switch fire modes to pull the pedersen device and become a 1903 infantry now. So it’s a 1917 carbine and a scout rifle that handles similarly to the Gewehr 98 in the same gun

Im so glad that they included the maschinepistole p12/16 experimental as it is basically feels like a 1 shot kill if you have a good trigger finger and aim

I was expecting to see the Chauchat Low Weight in this one too. I mean it can be a beast of a gun for close to medium ranges. And takes generally 3 shots to kill. I know it's got a low rate of fire, but once you get a hang of it, it's seriously so good.

I use quite often all weapons of this list , except the Perino. All good weapons, just a matter to learn how use them properly.

I love the trench carbine its so lit its like a sniper for the assualt class that you can also use at close and medium range, it has pin point accuracy. When i first found it I waa actually looking for a swmi auto accurate assualt weapon

The M1903 Experimental is still my most favorite CQ weapon in the game. Just so satisfying to screw over assaults with shotguns or SMGs, if you can surprise them.

Io love the cei-rigotti, when I saw it on this list I was pretty surprised

m1903 exp. is a jack of all trades. fast firing pistol rounds for close to mid, and a bolt action when yu need to take a longer range approach, with a highly useful iron sight that might be the best of the snipers. Not to mention how easy it is to get. i use it all the time.

Thanks for recommending the m1912 experimental. Just played 2 rounds with it and my k/d was close to double my normal k/d both rounds. For anyone that hasn’t tried it, do yourself a favor and give it a go.

I love the Cei Rigotti. When ITNoTT first came out i set about unlocking the Fedorov (my highest star count on any gun at 23 stars, want to start using the optical) and i got like 50 kills with the Cei trench in the first match on Tsaritsyn. Now i want to try the MP18 exp and the Maschinenpistole exp as well. For the scout class i think the Ross and the Gewehr 95 marksman are really good too. You can keep ads while you pull the bolt back. Pulled off some really good shots with the G95. I also like the perino and the general liu and selb 1906. Ive started using the mg15 a lot more too

Cei Rigotti is awesome, my most used gun in the game. Sadly people only use SL Sweeper, Fedorov trench ,Farghuar-Hill and Autoloading extended....

I was unaware of the m1917 patrol carbine variant having a small scope on it. I love the regular/trench variant. I don't play Scout as much as the other classes, but the 1895 Russian trench is fun up close but I prefer to use the m1903 experimental gun since I like playing very aggressive as scout (a rare occurrence to the stereotypical scout). I've actually turned to using the General Liu for most engagements. Video says it can have a one shot sweet spot range, which I think is true from what i remember, but you can one shot someone over a huge range if you get that sweet headshot. Huge perk is that switching modes is is very quick, considering the time it takes to switch modes on the m1903 experimental in comparison feels so much slower.

General Liu is my favorite accurate medic weapon. That 6th round makes a massive difference

P16 experimental is one of my top 3 favorite assault weapons in BF1. Its very under appreciated

12G auto has always been a favorite of mine. Makes me feel like the king of gunpowder everytime I mow people down with it.

The funny thing is that I love using the MP 18 experimental myself more than the other 2 variants

I personally enjoy running around with the Russian 1895 trench and the bodeo 1889 revolver because it makes me feel like an old western gunslinger.

I always use 1903 experimental not for the semi-auto feature but just for an iron sighted bolt action 1903.... the other two variants are long ranged scoped,so when I just want 1903 for some close quarters I select experimental and immediately switch to bolt action

I am a little sad that the Sjögren Intertial isn’t on this list, but I agree with your list! My favorite-and best weapon-is the Cei Rigotti. I think most people don’t know that it can go full auto, which absolutely destroys people.

And the other thing about the Cei-Rigotti is that it has automatic fire mode, as well (which further makes the weapon all the more versatile).

I love the Cei Rigotti it is great for a more aggressive medic it is quick to drop an enemy and all their friends at any range.

The m1895 trench he uses in that clip is exactly the same as the one I have and it’s my most used and highest performing(after the burton) weapon i use in bf1

Honestly surprised alot of people didn't know the general Lui sweet spot range, after the update I took up the rifle and after bout an hour found out it had the sweet spot range of the 98. So since then I've been spreading the word to alot of forum's and videos. I doubt I'm the first too know but I was probably one of the few 500 who found out by trying the gun myself. Kris if im correct I said it on your video when you said you didn't know it's range when ranking medic rifles. You also forgot to say that the m1903 experimental can become a infantry variant bolt action with the stats of the marksman or sniper variant but the time to change is about 4-7 seconds

Loved the vid the second it started with the MP18 Experimental. It’s my most used gun with 20 stars ( I have at least 1 star with each gun). I keep trying to tell my platoon mates how awesome it is, but can’t seem to convince them. Madsen is also my fav LMG with the storm and low weight at over 10 stars each and the trench not far behind. It’s the ultimate aggressive support weapon. I’m just starting to love the General Liu with the bolt action update. No love for the Howell sniper though? I almost never see it, but me and a couple of my platoon members absolutely swear by it. It’s like an Autoloading 8.35 marksman with slightly less damage, almost 5 times the bullets and just as spammable.

Great list. I've loved the Cei-Rigotti since day one and the Madsen became an accidental favorite when I was unlocking all the codexes. It's hard to use the CEI because I love the M1907 SL so much, and all of the LMG is great, basically, all the guns are useable, except the Kolibri but that's a joke weapon

As a medic, I've killed alot of snipers from 1 bullet to the head with the general liu, it is so satisfying to compete with scout class and also heal and revive people, to be fair i liked that gun since it was released in tsar dlc even without the ability to switch to bolt action.

I just rediscovered the general Liu factory, never knew it was so good

Maschinenpistole M1912/P16 is a fun gun to troll with that or the M1917 Trench Carbine, i use them quite often

Also with the M1903 Experimental you can turn it into a infantry version of the M1903 Sniper and Marksman.

I really like most the guns in this video. Especially that patrol carbine for assault... that thing is amazing. I think my only real beef with the RSC is the small mag...it seems like it has enough bullets to drop one baddy but I end up needing to switch to a side arm to finish the second target. I found the Madsen had a similar issue (at least for me), I would drop one or two guys, but the 30 round mag ran dry on the third target. Madsen is nice for close quarters but not so great for suppression IMO. All in all , I agree, these weapons are very under utilized, and most of them are really great if used correctly.

51 stars with the Russian trench and counting :) I love it with the no 3 revolver for the wild west feel. Sadly my second best weapon is the SMG 08 but I've since stopped using that to try other weapons.

Kris i watched this specifically for the m1903 experimental. You didnt mention they updated it to have an alt fire like the general liu, and on top of that there is a way to quick swap - after pressing the alt fire button, double tapping change weapon will skip the animation, basically giving you a second primary weapon in a slit second, along with clearer sights. I always liked the experimental, but once i learned about this it became a beast of a weapon for close-mid range. Try it out.

I’m actually a huge fan of the general liu rifle. I use it almost every time I play as medic. Mainly because I’m a sniper main that loves to get long distance kills. But it’s fun to counter snipe snipers with a medic

Honestly, the problem I have with the Perino LMG is that in spite of its low fire rate, it doesn't do any better damage per shot than LMGs with higher fire rates. I really don't know why it's a later unlock in the Support class.

I am a historical loadout nerd. The M1917 and RU1895 have been great for simulating a Stormtrooper loadout.

Lewis optical is a hidden gem imo. Low recoil, accurate, decent fire rate and ammo. An lmg that doesn’t force you to bipod and can do well close to mid range.

Patrol Carbine is a really fun gun to spam fire while strafing.

I noticed that I actually use a lot more of these guns than I realized. I just picked them because they worked for me. I’m not trying to be the “oh I did that before it was cool” guy, but I guess I am that guy right now. But there are a few that I either don’t have access to or just never tried.

I used the 12g automatic the other day, and ended up going on an insane killstreak with it in operations
