Battlefield 1: TOP 5 UNDERRATED GADGETS (+ Grenade) IN BF1 

Problem with smoke grenade attachment is that you have to sacrifice band-aids or syringes.

The spotting flare's underused? I always see the objective peppered with them.

Sometime during a match of Vaux. I would run around corners only to find 10+ enemies. A quick throw of a limpet and another service star.

The rep tool, its an AA, AT, a troll weapon and a tankers best friend all in one

Im glad you're promoting the trench periscope and spotting flare (and generally playing the objective) the amount of scouts I see contributing nothing to the team is ridiculous, good vid

I had no idea there were scouts without the spotting flare equipped. The only time I don't have it equipped is on hardcore mode where it is pretty much useless

I absolutely use some of these. My main Scout class has Trench Periscope, spot flares and Smoke grenades. Team support style.

I love the trench periscope.

TIp with the spotting flare: increase the size of your mini map and change the zoom so that you can see more players when you fire the spotting flare. Sometimes I can see the position of 50% of the enemy team when firing a spotting flare.

All you scouts out there use that periscope! As a pilot I can more easily identify ground targets.

IMO the mini medkits are underrated since I'm always on the move with the Medic, and it allows me to toss one across like 10 meters away so my team mates can heal on the go! The support is a different story, I play defensively and use the ammo box since it makes sense to provide ammo to others that are with me.

The Limpet mine is my main Support gadget (aside from ammo crate/pouch). It is by far the most useful support gadget

I can top the match as a scout, because of the flares. I may only get 17-20 kills a round but I can get up there on the scoreboard just because I'm using flares, and sitting on flags but I have to know when it's time to pull away from a flag and give a respawn for my squad to get back on the objective.

I rather use the impact grenade in close quarters maps and gamemodes

Flare spot is not underused or underrated. It's the flash that's never touched nor admired.

if you practice it's easy to Bounce impact grenades off walls. really effect in close quarters.

Another thing that makes the limpet even better, it does not have an explosion marker (like grenades or tnt) meaning that in chaotic fights it often goes unnoticed making for easy kills through chokepoints

Lol at all the people on here saying the spotting flare ISNT under used, it is!! Just because you use it, doesn't mean the other 35 scout players on the server are using it too. I was playing bf1 before, literally shouting at the screen, "why the hell isn't anyone firing flares at the objective" (there was a row of snipers lined up just behind me doing nothing.) and guess what happened,the enemies took the objective which led to them winning the match, if those scouts fired flares, things might have been different

Great video thank you! I use smoke all the time in operations with my support. And if it's not smoke it's anti tank grenade and limpet combo. On that forest map I go recon, run straight to c with smoke grenades and the flash flare gun, not the spot. Get c by myself nearly all the time

I always use the trench periscope now. Many really don't use as I would of imagined but sure has made a distance all around. Running just outside the objective and plucking off the enemy's who have the vantage point on the flag. Medics get plucked first though, that's just me lol

i've used the mortar instead of the limpet but for the same reasons, destroy hideouts and enemies. nice list, never used smoke (grenade) or impact but i see their benefit in the game.

Impact grenade is very essential and popular thing, especially for a sniper. There must be a mini grenade in this video... And Limpet is the best gadget of support class! There is no better alternative. Ammo+limpet is the best combination. A lot of players using it, as me and especially Squid & Weazy))

When you see a friendly scout, playing the objective, and they are using the spoting flare! 👌

Agreed on smokes especially. They are useful as hell when you need to break the enemy line or scare off a tank.

The trenchscope is my go-to on Scout, VERY useful behind cover so you don't get domed.

Limpet charge with anti tank grenade is such a good combo. Able to take out a tank really quick with support feels so good.

I use the flare a whole lot but you have opened a new tactic with smoke I'm trying out with my buddy on combining smoke grenades and spot flares . while he used blinding flares and impact grenade's so far its gotten us at least 15kills for each match .thanks to this video thank you

Hey thanks Kris, the trench periscope is pretty much essential to me now that I know its an amazing, and improved spotting tool. I spot all the time in TDM and conquest, as well as spam flares. I thought for the longest time it was just a scope. :D

On my scout class I always use the trench periscope and spotting flare. It makes you an excellent asset or supporting your team, allowing you to counter-snipe and spot enemies easily. The periscope allows you to do this from range while the spotting flare does this better up-close and in a pinch

Smoke grenade is the single best grenade in the game. HANDS DOWN. Very, very underrated. And not many people know how to use them.

The trench Periscope is probably the most helpful tool for the scout. I love that thing. The limpet charge is my reason to live.

This is kind of a team project but the scouts Shield and a support player with a suppressive variant rifle work really well in tandem as a impromptu field gun

Oh man. I used Limpet Charges all the time. Sooooo handy and a hell of alot of fun. Nothing like setting one up on the side of a wall when you know someone is on the other side. And YES to spot flares. Tired of seeing 1/2 the team playing sniper and not one damned flare going out.

I once found a camper going on a 30+ kill streak sitting in a corner and spotted him with the trench periscope. After that about 20 people threw incendiary and gas grenades in that corner. Ah the memories...

The periscope is so wonderfully powerful. There are games where we are getting stomped and I'll just sit down and periscope the whole rest of the game and we will clutch out a win. Being able to mark dozens of soldiers a min as well as outline them is crazy. All those lazy snipers on the team suddenly become snipegods

Great vid I like using rose telescope helps me spot-my teams enemies spot much better with bunkers and buildings to highlight the whole enemy soldier hard for them to hide

All of these gadgets I either used to use or still use them frequently except for the smoke grenades. I have never ever used them once in BF1

I always use the Trench Periscope. The main reason is because I use a x4 scope to avoid scope glare, so sometimes i need a bit more zoom scoping out other snipers in cover. It helps my team as well, so.... win-win. :)

The Spot flare is the main reason I like to play scout. Map information is really valuable in BF1 and harder to come by than in previous titles. In comes the flare.

I'm usually always rocking the "M1903 Sniper" with Trench Periscope and Sniper Shield now. Used to role with spot flares, but now with hours upon hours of sniping experience/bullet drop feel/all that jazz, I'm pretty damn far away to be able to properly utilize the flare. I utilize the sniper shield solely as a means of support for my bipod when just crouched. So if you find yourself a good nook with a good prone position facing the brunt of the enemy objectives, the sniper shield will give an additional defense on whichever exposed flank you may have/then also like I said a means to move a lot easier and shoot just as effectively with the bipod support from crouch. The periscope makes you almost unkillable and will literally always give you a massive jump on other snipers, just spot them from safety, pop up, drop them, then retreat & repeat. M1903 has very little bullet drop making head shots easy to gauge from very far away. Even if enemy snipers do finally catch up with you, it's an easy duel vs the other rifles with much greater bullet drops.

I actually used the trench periscope when I first started sniping because it tells you how far away the target it. After awhile I was just able to tell how far away they were and went to k bullets.

The trench periscope tells you how many meters it is where you’re pointing the cross reticle. You can use this to set the meters on your sniper with it so you can be accurate and headshot an enemy sniper who’s destroying your team and camping near spawn.

Lmao when I use the Trench Periscope it reminds me of being the only guy using the SOFLAM in bf3 in the end it was worth it took me forever to get that dogtag that I never saw anyone have. The Periscope is op in Verdun Heights just by spotting I got 20000 scout score

The trench periscope also shows the distance of where ur aiming so u can set ur zeroing range more accurately

Sniper Team - 2 Men 1st Man - trench periscope, sniper shield, smoke grenades 2nd Man - sniper shield, decoys, smokes Both guys sit back on the fringes behind sniper shields. One guys spots and one guys throws lead.

I believe the incendiary grenade with it's similarly short fuse time to be a straight upgrade from the impact, since it can do a lot of the same things and doubles as a choke point blocker.

The primary downside of the other medic things is that, and I feel like a lot of people will agree with me, giving up heals and revives just isn't worth it

The Scout makes spotting a breeze.

I think for me, the best use of the smoke grenade is a meme loadout I call shovel knight it’s an Assault class, no gadgets, The juggernaut and the flak specialization, obviously the shovel, the gas mask and of course the smoke grenade. You hide in the smoke, wait for somebody to walk by and you get the takedown then you run back to real cover. And now you have acquired the art of the shovel knight.

I love the trench periscope; mark plenty of targets for my teammates to kill.

smoke grenades are great as sniper or when you play the support as you should. (from medium range with suppressive fire.) to change location when spotted

in high ranks repIr tool is great, they always disable AA guns and field guns you can repair them and melt their vehicles

I feel the best gadgets in the game are the medic bags and syringe. Maybe not underrated, but they're just SO strong, nothing else can just nullify all the damage, sometimes even the kills, racked up by the enemies the way Medic can. And given that the Self Loading Rifles are very strong, versatile weapons, I'm astonished I don't see so many of them.

The limpet charge can be picked up by an enemy support class.

before the hellriegel defensive challenge at mines would've been top of this list still very high up,
