Yes I was diagnosed with Angina 2 years ago . Changed my eating habits to healthy eating . Exercising to a limit of course . Drink plenty of water !!! It does make a big difference when you change alot in your life . Same for me as I have read others comments on here . Some days are good and some not so good. It's been a good while that I haven't had a bad day until yesterday . So just resting and taking it easy today. Thanks for the information...because sometimes we can forget and need a refreshing of Angina. Everyone take good care of yourselves.

Can you live a full life with angina
@pullmyfinger7124
@pullmyfinger7124 6 лет назад
My problems started because of PAD (artery disease) I thought I was having a heart attack. That was angina due to blood flow back to the heart. Angina is a symptom of something not right going on in your vascular system. My angina pain was at night while sleeping and at rest, not physical exercise so the claim that angina happens only during physical exursion is false. Angina can also make you feel very nauseated to the point of getting sick to your stomach. Some of that feeling is because you think that you might be dying, it can be a very bad experience. I went to the emergency room and was fortunate enough to be partnered with a very good Cardioligist who refered me to a vascular surgeon. I'm only 51 and years of smoking and a bad diet blocked my arteries below the lower aorta, I could only walk for about 10 minutes then have to rest. I was able to quit smoking and had a procedure that opened up my veins (stents) I'll probably be on meds for the rest of my life but figuring out the problem, diagnosing the problem, lifestyle change and treatment has changed my life. If you are having angina pain something is up, get it checked.

Thank you, very useful to understand the symptoms of Angina. I think I disturbed the road works when I overdid my cardio workouts in the swimming pool. The road work seems to be disturbed and now I am going through some tests.

tnx doc for this vid this helps me allot, im having some weird pressure in my chest 1hr after eating while just at rest, i worried that this could be angina , so i did some experiment after i eat ill wait for the chest pressure and run on a treadmill for 10 mins, and suprisingly the chest pressure is gone and did not get worst, i also consult my cardio and did some ecg and echo test to clear my mind and anxiety, luckily results are normal

Hi Dr spoke to you before. I had ectopic beats went to my local Dr and she more or less said nothing to worry about. Been having them again the past few days after nothing for months. But after revisiting your videos my mind's at ease. It's not often someone of your expertise posts videos and answers questions. It means a lot and makes a massive difference to a lot of people. I used to hate looking at anything heart related after having SVT years ago and getting 3 ablations which thankfully helped. Seeing your videos is a great education. At that time i had an Echo Stress Test and Holter Monitor which all registered normal i was 28-29 now 31 and from time to time been a few months since the last ones i get a lot of ectopics while at rest a lot in a row but i never feel faint or sick etc. So considering a few years ago my Cardiologist told me you will die with them not from them. Do you think the frequency of them matters and would they do any structural damage? Thanks.
@Raj-ul9my
@Raj-ul9my 4 года назад
Bounty Hunter Arrhythmia or eptopic heart beats wont cause structural damage to your heart however a. Heart attack can. What you need is beta blockers if your heart is going fast or a pacemaker to control your heart Ryfhm

Dr Gupta, I really enjoy your videos. I respect your knowledge, and would like to know what you would class as a "Self assesment" of heart health and a self angina test. What would be best to check if our hearts are working good at peak? Thankyou keep the videos up!

You're an awesome Human being on top of a good cardiologist. I spent thousands on appointments with cardiologists here just to get to know whether or not my Father should recieve stent to to cop up with coronary artery deases. I ended up with stent treatment. He's about 58 now physically fit enough to perform routine life activities except for a little obesity. What can I do to maintain his health after having recieved stents Dr?

I get a stabbing pain in upper chest for a few seconds at a time. I get left arm pain and jaw pain also. This is not with exertion. Have had egg, echo, stress test, chest x-ray...all come back good. My gp says I'm too young and skinny to have angina. But when I ask why I have these symptoms they don't know. What test can I get to rule out angina (stable and unstable)?

My friend had a lot of emotional stress and she noticed that her heart was feeling like it was suffocating and squeezing. Now she has informed me that after seven months she has constant chest pressure and discomfort. Especially when she walks a short period. She said it is getting progressively worse. Could this issue cause an heart attack?

Tell me, what happens after half a mile walk that wouldn't happen in 100 metres? Surely it wouldn't get harder and harder on the myocardium? Extra blood supply wouldn't be needed after 1,000mtrs, would it?

thank you for these videos. very informative. I'm a athletic 35 yr old dealing with burning and stabbing pains on the left chest/pec region now. stress test, ekg, and echo were all normal. thinking of pursuing other explanations now since it appears not heart related. exercise seems to aggregate it but I get it at rest too :/

I have dealt with that for a while and due to anxiety and sleeping position I have wound up with a lot of tension in that area. I end up holding my left shoulder up and once it is tight it compresses the nerves in the arm causing more pain/aches in the left bicep and forearm. A therapeutic massage would help as much as they hurt.

@york cardiology. Hi Doc I am from India and aged 30. About a year ago I had a sudden uneasyness which on going to the doctor was told to be hyperacidity. Followed by that I had my bp shot up to 170/120 and heartbeat was high sinus trachyardia ECG showed nothing to be worried about. A year has passed by and I have been on hypertensive drugs earlier telma 20 and now another doctor changed it to metroprolol 25. I get palpitations very often and kind of panic. Sometimes I have pain on the left with high gas formation. The doctors said I don't have any cardiac issue but due to an early doctor who tried to psychologically make me feel I could die, I have become morally weak And even slightest discomfort makes me feel something is happening to me. This heaviness or discomfort gets better after I exercise or do brisk walking. Please suggest what should I do.

I'm 19y/o. I have anxiety, my heart rate is 100bpm. I've done ECG and it said i have sinus tachycardia.➡ Sometimes, I get severe pain in the left side of my chest when I breathe in, makes it impossible to breathe for a while, and lasts for a few seconds until i grab that area (chest) tightly and exhale. Is there anything to worry about? Please help. 😊

this was a great video! when I stand up after sitting and sometimes if I'm standing and not doing much and suddenly decide to skip around I develop a squeezing sensation in my lower rib cage/ diaphram area or stomach. Putting pressure on it while sliding my hand down seems to help. when I exercise I don't have any issue at all, it seems like it is only transitioning from rest to instant activity. Would that be classified as angina or more of a vagal response? If it helps, I do feel like if I continue exertion the squeezing gets worse but again it's not in my chest and I'm not short of breath, it's more like a kick in the stomach. Any input would be appreciated

I meant to add my stress, echo, and several ekgs have been normal, along with a holter. I have an irbbb and trivial regurgitation in my mitrial and tricuspid valves.
@YorkCardiology
@YorkCardiology 8 лет назад
+mattvmani doesn't sound like typical angina which is usually brought on by physical exertion and improves with rest esp if you have had a negative stress test to look into it. Not quite sure why it should be happening though..maybe you need a holter or an event recorder?
@mattvmani
@mattvmani 8 лет назад
+York Cardiology thank you so much for replying! I did have a 48 hr holter and they saw some pacs and rare pvcs, no arythmias were seen. I did want to ask if you could do a video on bundle branch blocks and maybe elaborate what the ecg numbers would loo like as a result along with any significance of it. I have an irbbb. my Qtc ranges from 398-432 and one of my other intervals end up a little longer. no heart defects were seen but I wonder how it is I have one in the first place. thank you thank you for all of your videos thus far. they really are of great comfort and on those anxiety days I come back to listen to them. God bless!
@mattvmani
@mattvmani 8 лет назад
+York Cardiology I also didn't realize but I have a pectus excavatum which at least looks like it may have an effect causing an irbbb reading on an ecg? is that a factor?

Thank you for the video. I've always wondered, why not stent always? Why bypass? Can a blockage be to big for a stent? I just had a friend, who lives far away, have a quadrupedal bypass and I wonder why not just quadrupedal stent?

Staffan Carlström wow.. Pretty similar story as mine. Back in 2012 i had just a crazy year of partying with Alcohol and drug use. I used alot of Ecstasy and the last week of 2012 i used the same amount that was normal for me. 3 pills and about 6hrs after my entire left side went numb and i was having trouble keeping calm. So i was trying to control my breathing but i didnt go to the ER. That could’ve been my other mistake. I fell asleep and woke up fine. I then would have palpitations that felt horrible but after i saw the Dr they told me i was fully healthy and fine. Just lay off of caffeine, drugs and alchemy. About a year later i started exercising and starting noticing i was feelinf better but to this day ill get chest pressure and cramps sometimes. Ive noticed getting good rest is important also. Im really interested to follow y’alls stories since we sound familiar
