Harry, this reminded me of what you say in BaldCafe's ebook: insecure people need to drag others down in order to feel better with themselves. Confident people don't need to put anyone down: they are just too busy having a life.
Rule #1... Never cover up a strong jawline with a huge beard. Women love a strong jawline and men want it. No hair or short trimmed beard for strong jawline..... If one has a real weak jawline or even double chin, a beard can disguise it pretty good.
@@tagada7 Considering that there are five steps to a typical surgery I have no idea which step you're referring to. Also, please move this to my channel so we don't hijack Harry's. Thanks.
When I finally understood any insecurities are the result of outside influences (I didn't develop insecurities purely from me alone. OTHER people, advertising, etc is what I allowed to corrupt my thoughts on balding) I had no problems afterward. Not to mention all the extra personal time I have each day not having to groom as much.
Thanks for the channel. I just shaved mine off last week at 25. I feel so much better not worrying. Still getting used to shaving and skin is tender, but this channel helped big time with insecurity. You’re doing great work.
Buddy, I have been, for the better part of 10 years fearing the inevitable MPB that is rampant in my family. I’ve actually planned on getting a hair transplant procedure once the balding is noticeable. I watched one video on your channel and I’m ready to embrace it fully! I’m 24 and in the infancy stages of MPB, so I’m still not there yet but I wanted to thank you for setting up this channel, I’m sure a lot of guys like myself really needed to see your motivational posts and help them understand that being bald is sexy as hell if you’ve got good character. Cheers
Great story, Harry. So many of us have been there. My brother in law always waited until we were at big family dinners to start harassing me. You're sort of trapped then. It took me a while to realize you couldn't make "short" jokes around him. He was just deflecting his own insecurities. Your channel is great. Best to you!
I had a period of deep depression in which i tought my life was over because of baldness. I started focusing on my passion and the gym, start studying local language of where I’m living and always tried to be funny and cheerful with all Colleagues, needless to say is starting to work. Ive dated a colleague and I’m starting to bond with other women in other teams. If you’re sure of yourself and have your life together they’ll stop caring about your flaws (they also do have flaws and insecurity) the fact is sometimes our mind can trasform one problem and make it look like a life sentence, but is not! There is hope my bald brothers! If you’re down don’t give up!
I consider myself to be a very confident person. I very recently started shaving my head, as I was starting to feel insecure about thinning hair. It’s been a somewhat difficult transition. I’ve had mixed reviews from others. It’s been affecting me more than I thought it would. I’ve always felt like hair restoration intervention is, for lack of a better term, Beta. It’s a normal part of life. However, I can’t help but feel like I’ve lost a big part of my general appearance (I had blonde hair). Two weeks in, I’m beginning to feel more comfortable and confident as the initial reactions are almost concluded. I’m looking forward to the future and gaining a new sense of self with my new look. Thanks so much for making videos like this to validate people like me.
I’ve been bald for 8-9 years and tbh I’m still insecure about it. I always wear hats, but I’m going to stop wearing them and try my best to embrace it.
Want to say thank you BaldCafe! Been watching your videos for a couple weeks. Trying to build up the confidence to do it. Finally said bugger it, bought a set of clippers and did it. Best thing I ever did. Thank you very much! Here's to 2021.
Dude.. I can tell you 100 % this is the best look of you.. Long beared makes you older. Just trim it and keep your beared shorter like this. Definitely you look much better
Been using a Leaf Razor for about a year and I will never go to any thing else. I shave at night in the shower. I shut the shower off and rinse the razor under the faucet to save water and I am good for the next day.!!!
I gotta give props to this channel. Today i finally take that golden step of courage to shaved my head bald. Im 25 but i feel Great now! Even when my friend is laughing at my Baldness i feel happy to make others smile or laugh. As for my personal feelings, i feel good as i do not need to always scratch my hair due to dandruff or dry skin, and it feels COOL 😇 Cheers from SINGAPORE!
A fun thing to note that’s rarely ever brought up: the most effective treatment for reversing balding involves shaving your head. So if you want to do a hair transplant, you’re going to have to get your head shaved first anyway. So you might as well do it yourself for free and see how you feel before spending thousands of dollars to do it under a knife. All the roots are still gonna be there regardless.
@@damienoptc7222 All he's suggesting is to give the shaved head a try before taking other radical options, because many people might find that they actually like a shaved look.
Also keep in mind that youll need to take Finasteride after the HT. So that will be another 30-50bucks per month+ maybe other things for your hair. If you absolutely dont want a shaved head, then Go ahead if get the transplant. Otherwise shave it and jump over your insecurities :-)
Great videos Harry! You really helped me to take the last step. After so many long years of hiding it i finally did it and tbh i dont really know how i feel about it. So i am 22 and have been balding since 17/18. I went to get an haircut just before the start of the new semester on university last year and it just was not the way i wanted it to go. I struggled with my hair for so long and i was like just tired of it. I started skipping so many things bc of it and i regret it every day. So i decided to shave it off a couple hours before school. I was very worried about it because of my head shape (its kinda flat at the back). My hair always allowed me to make it look round. I have to say that i dont really feel very good about it just yet (even if other people say it looks much better) it makes me real insecure. And really cant let the hats go just yet. They make my worries go away. Maybe it needs more time.. Its very hard to accept it. Hopefully the feels will change in the near future.
I usually laugh at the comments and just say "Bald and proud, I'm individual, you just all look the same with hair, how awful" Usually knocks people of guard with the confidence
Always love the mk2 golf video setting. I’m looking at buying one out here in the state’s they’re harder to find but recently saw one on vortexvw forum- gti mk2 in royal blue with bbs rm wheels- in Canada though.
@Baldcafe you are making me chuckle i Remember when you were 29 years old last year and you did a video on Testosterone i think this video Layout is very simliar too this one i could be wrong but there is a slight Possibility that this could be a part 2
25 here, and I've been with battling hair loss for 3 years. Now my scalp is visible and hair density has decreased even more. I know it's just a decision to shave all of what's left, but did none of you "loved" your hair? Cause I did, I liked how I looked with a nice haircut and my beard, the way I could style it. These months, I am going to the WC and avoid looking at the mirror, because I cannot bare to look at my head. And of course, even if I shaved, I fear I won't look good and people will be judgmental. BOOM, there goes my self-esteem, or what's left of it.
I know it's for different reasons, but as a bald (by choice) woman, I get women saying similar things to me. The "Oh, I could never shave my head! I have a weird shaped head!" thing. It seems to me that no matter who shaves their head, and from what I've seen on this channel, that everyone looks good and ends up feeling good once the decision's made. (Not sure if I'm making sense here, but Harry and y'all are just bad ass in my book!)
@@HiddenFormula Norwood 1 but i have DUPA. I lost my hair in all of my head even in donor area and finasteride doesnt work on me. I have very bad head shape.
I just shaved my head for the first time ever. I buzzed (no clip) it first and I didn't like it as much because my buzzed hair is black, my scalp is so white so it didn't hide my receding as much I liked. I shaved it with a razor and it looked much better. I need to tan my head to match my face skin color though. My scalp is too white. Haha. When my scalp matches my darker white skin, it will look better.... In a odd way, the more bald you are, it will actually look better than to see shaved receding dark hairline. If one goes for facial hair, I think a strong jawline looks better than any beard. Women find a strong jawline as a sexy attribute. Long beard covers it. Strong jawline should have no beard or short cut beard that shows the strong jawline..... I really like how my head feels. I rub it a lot. It is like a hand warmer. I wasn't mad or sad when I shaved my head. Good mood before and after. Debating whether to grow a goatee.
Hey baldcafe hope everything is going well. i was trying to get a hold of you to share you my head shave story but I never got a response anyways hope to hear from you soon.
I think talking ish about a bald guy or even being bald in general is part of their denial. Been there myself as well. It is part of the hair loss journey.
My boyfriend likes to shave bald so he has tried multiple electric razors from the cheap chinese ones all the way up to a nice panasonic arc4. But he always ends up with a red irritated scalp. Shaving cream doesnt seem to help because he has to do multiple passes to get the hair off (even with the expensive panosonic). Does anyone have any tips on better brands or methods? He doesnt want to use a straight razor because we dont have good mirrors in our bathroom.
Thought I would share, joe Rogan had a podcast with dr mark gordon and they talked about propecia finasteride and depression low energy. 44 and103 minutes in on the newest episode and also earlier in the podcast they brought up dht and how important it is. Hope this might help someone get off this medication and take the plunge.
Your face seems to suit a bald head, but I don’t feel the same. I’m embarrassed to go outside and struggle with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Do you have any advice for me?
Do you know who Steven Ogg is Harry? He voice acted Trevor in GTA V, was in The Walking Dead, Westworld and few other V popular tv series. Anyway reason I bring him up, is he has the maddest hair most of the time. Pretty much just the sides but sweeps it back and sometimes rocks a handlebar moustache. But it looks awesome! He has bucket loads of charisma, and I've saw that he's went on podcasts and stuff with RU-vidrs who have much less subs than you and is a really nice guy. My point is, I think sometimes guys forget, that many men who are balding are incredibly successful and admired, found attractive by women. Think Jack Nicholson, biggest womanizer in Hollywood, terrible Hairline, bags of charm haha. So umm yeah, balding creates illusions in the mind of many men I guess is my point. Peace ✌️ Kris.
Bald guys only need one exercise to complete the look...buy a 100lb barbell...200 shoulder shrugs a day..add one inch to neck size...nobody will joke anymore...if baldness is barely noticed...with a strong neck it won’t be noticed at all
I've got a massive occipital bun on the back of my head that I hate the look of and makes shaving much more difficult. Could you do a video about weird head shapes? Any time I see balding stuff online, the guy always has a normal, round head without a handle on the back.
Real talk I’ve had one other guy message me about a similar issue and being straight up that situation is for sure more difficult. I still think the basics apply though. It is for sure at the forefront of your own mind but other people will not concern themselves over is because they have their own insecurities to worry that you are noticing. I genuinely believe that if you don’t let it stop you it won’t. As for how to manage it with the hair etc. I’d say the starting point has to be a simple pros and cons list. Fighting for the hair to conceal the bun (if that was the case) or moving on with the shaved head. Although difficult it’s absolutely possible and don’t beat yourself up about it. There are hundreds of aspects that make you, you and many are positive.
How often did you pay any mind to other people’s head shapes before you started balding? I bet you didn’t at all. I went through a phase where I couldn’t stop comparing my head shape to other people’s and always finding reasons why theirs was better, it’s a natural mistake we make when we compare. Anyway, I saw a bald dude in the supermarket with literally the biggest occipital bun I’ve ever seen in my life, his girlfriend/partner didn’t seem to mind at all though, and neither did he.
Hello harry , can you speak about " weird head shape" on video ? . There are a lot of mans in this channel who seems to be insecure about head shape because of huge bump on the head. I saw a lot of comments like "i have bad head shape"
This is your best look, a stubble or eventually short beard with that jaw structure and your face, and in general...you don't need to hide your face with a big beard, believe me, lol.
