Best 16 minutes on RU-vid that finally explains to me how to properly set my exposure on my Mavic 3. thank you so much for explaining it clearly and also for the LUT that you created! you cut through all the fluff on other tutorials and go to the meat. top quality content. happy subscriber!!
Now this is some good information and starting point. I've had the idea where things should be but this makes good sense. Excellent presentation. Now if I could get all the crazy settings on the Classic gimble set.
Question, ISO in digital is not new to me but only understood now from this video. Is ISO "noise" similar to pixelation from cropping/ digital zoom, or is it totally different looking? Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday... You are a busy person, and we all appreciate it! I started photography with a good (at the time) 35mm camera and exposure meter for setting the camera, i.e., I am old as dirt, but left wedding photography when the digital age hit due to having a good job, family, and not having funds or time to basically start over. I forgot much of what I knew because I never used it, however with a Mavic 3 now, my third drone, and wanting to use it well, your previous how-to presentations and now this camera 101, has been wonderful for me, and I am sure many others!
@@FilmmakerCentral Yes I understand, however, I was directed to this video by one of my users that believed Gopros had bad low-light performance because it had no aperture. The DJI mini 3 and the GoPro have almost the same sensor size yet my DJI mini 3 performs far better in low light. Why is that?...because the DJI mini has a fixed aperture of f1.7 and the GoPro is fixed at f2.8 So knowing the aperture is very important as I explained to him. Even if it is fixed it is good to know.
This is very informative.. I know there is a lot more to it than this, but this really helped set a base knowledge for what I’m wanting to be able to understand Exposure.. Thank you
Thank you, thank you and thank you again for your great teaching on camera settings. I just got the Mavic Cine and want to take a class on setting the camera right. I watch your last 3 videos and have adjust all settings on a fly. Your explanation and demonstration have greatly help me to fine tune it. Again have a Happy thanksgiving and hope you do more videos about editing and color grading in Final Cut later on. Keep it up 👍 Keep on doing tutorial on the Mavic 3 settings and adjustments. Also can you explain the difference filters that comes with the Mavic 3 and also the Cine version when we need to use them.
thank you so much for this video. you are an amazing teacher, so many things made sense to me just now. i have a mini 2 and have been playing with the camera settings to lear how to take bettr shots. in the next month i do hove to have the mavic 3
Thank you for this. I’m 4 days into drone photography with my mavic 3 and this was a really good video. I greatly appreciate it! In the future can you do a video on on Final Cut Pro color grading?
Hello, I'm adjusting to there only being 2 iso options when shooting video in D-Log-400 and 800. This was not the case with the Mavic 2 Pro. Why are there not more ISO options in D-Log?
Kerry thanks for an awesome tutorial, I watched one of the other respectable channels and he was stating that while working on color grading D log footage on the M3 an exposure of like -0.3 rather than +0.3 seemed to work better, while the M2p d log footage would color grade best with +0.3 Or so, just an awesome observation from M3 reviews.
Great explanation, thank you. White balance is now shown in numbers rather than sunny or cloudy. I’m guessing you just move the slider up and down until the picture looks good or is there a better way. Once again thank you. 😀🐾🐾
Those named presets are not standard across all cameras and can be off by hundreds of degrees. There are apps for both android and iOS that can help determine correct white balance.
This short vid should have approximately a gazillion more likes. It's the perfect intro tutorial for drone pilots who want to understand how ISO, aperture and shutter speed relate to one another. As a rank beginner, this gave me *exactly* what I was looking for. It was particularly helpful to see, on screen in real time, how changing the different settings affected the shot. Thank you!
Thanks a lot, I cannot find the mm symbol that you mentioned in the video in the DJI app (latest version). How can you activate this? By the way how do you know that you have the right nd filter? Do you test this manually by holding the filter in front of the lense and see what shutter speed is automatically depicted? If it is larger than double frame rate take another ne filter ?
The MM should be in the bottom right next to the camera settings when you are in Pro mode. The second part, well, you may not like my answer, but it's "I know what to use by looking with my eyes". Probably 70% of the time, you can use an ND16 during the day, another 28% of the time, it will need an ND32, and 2% of the time it might need something else. The fact is, you learn. I just keep the ND16 on all the time and only swap it out if its not as bright out or its brighter than normal.
@@FilmmakerCentral thanks a for your answer. Besides I recognised that if I Make a drone shot on a very sunny day with n32 filter and 4K, that there is a a short flicker maybe every minute ? Is this due to the auto aperture that adjusts itself to the different lightning conditions? Do you recommend to set it to a constant f value? But which should this be?
@@FilmmakerCentral thanks how to set the f value manually? Just use the automatic value suggested before start and set it as manual value? Thanks a lot for an answer
