His guitar playing is phenomenal

I've always found the melodies in his music to be striking, particularly on guitar. They're simple, yet really impactful. "Blue Boy" is one of my favorites because the melody is happy, but also mysterious and nostalgic in a way.

I'll do my utmost best to try promote this channel, loving it so far.

I'd agree with the comments you made on lyrical content in his songs wholeheartedly. (honestly I agree with most of it and I think this is a great video). But, the lyrics stick out to me in his music. Interestingly enough, I think the low resolution in his music videos, his cheap guitar, and his use of analog recording equipment conjure up a similar feeling to the lyrics. While they might seem unrelated, both the emotional depth and the "mistakes" and "imperfections" in his songs give his music a gorgeous and unbelievably human quality. It speaks to us in a way that is part nostalgia and part raw emotion. (Just to be clear here before I say this last little bit, I'm not against technology or innovation. I think both are great etc. etc. etc.) Mac's music has a quality of purity to it. As humans, we have a bias towards all that which is natural. Mac's music perfectly embodies the "natural" that we all are searching for. Untouched by technology, he can create something free of the system we all feel trapped in.

Awesome job, Lie. Mac is one of my favorite artists living today.. So creative and versatile, he always just knows how to write a solid album. I also find him as a big inspiration for recording. De Marco's music and persona are fascinating. I listened to him only once and I got caught. Great analysis! Make a video about Peter Gabriel this way, with reference to his childhood, family, to his influences, his period with Genesis, then solo. It is difficult to synthesize so many informations and sketches, but would be a challenging effort and Peter deserves it. Thank you for the work you've already done for other artists.

Tape recording does not necessarily mean low-quality, in fact usually better than digital. Although old, crappy and cheap, domestic tape recorders can sound lo-fi. That is what Mac is using.

(Had you made a Rundgren review? Was you?) I used to enjoy DeMarco a lot. As time has passed, I just lost my interest. But your review on his works, lit up the beauty I used to see on Mac's albums! You got my like and subscription 👍
