Fr Chris, excellent as Catholics we need catechism in the Holy Mass. For me the greatest understanding and spiritual enrichment came through learning of the meaning as traditionally intended for millennia, Which we all but lost! The mass is the greatest prayer! Its ends: adoration, Thanksgiving, reparation, petition. Our participation is key we make of ourselves a living sacrifice, with the priest, with Christ on the altar to God the Father, in union with blessed Mary ever virgin, blessed Michael the archangel (the Communion of Saints). The Holy Mass, the Eucharist is truly the source and summit of our faith🙏

Those of us who are lucky enough to be able to attend weekday Mass, also hear it on some of the weekdays in Eastertide.

Thank you Fr Alar. I really love and appreciate this teaching! Do u know why some prayers from the old mass were removed from the new mass, and why it went to the vernacular? It seems the latin and new mass are almost 2 different masses. So mamy changes. I love the latin mass. But I know most ppl do not have access. And now its being attacked by the pope. I dont understand why such a drasticvchange was made to a 2000 year old mass as if the early church got it wrong. This makes me sad. It would be great to see a video about the prayers that were removed and some explanation as to why the big changes.

Thank you again Father. Can you enlighten me about the duration of time that Our Lord is physically in our hearts after receiving Holy Communion please? As a child I was taught it was about 10 mins. So if that is true, why do we still see people who had just received the Holy Communion and walk out of church even worse chatting after just a few minutes? Personally I find ten mins are not enough to thank Him and ask Him for Graces. Many thanks again. Bless

49:00 - "... to celebrate the sacrifice of the Mass." Is this the actual "worship" we Catholics do? I've learned elsewhere that the preaching and singing that our Protestant brothers do doesn't constitute actual "worship". So what part of the Catholic Mass IS actual worship? The entire Liturgy of the Eucharist" I sure wish he would have specified. That was the thing I was most hoping to learn from watching this video. Not to say that I didn't still learn a whole lot, all the same. Excellent videos, both. [Edit: adds... There. I did a little research myself, using my St. Joseph Sunday Missal. "20 EUCHARISTIC PRAYER We begin the eucharistic service of praise and thanksgiving, the center of the entire celebration, the central prayer of worship....". So that's it, I guess. Since this is the core of Catholic worship, and there is no mention of Mary, the Mother of God/Jesus, then there is no way that we can be worshiping Mary, here. And, prayer and preaching are not worship, so anything we to in that regard w/r to Mary is not worship, either.

I have a question. I’ve heard it said that the mass we have today is not the mass that the council gave us but was given to us by Paul VI in 1969. If so why?

Fr Chris my friend from college days was in the seminary( right beside the catholic university where i went) and quit after 1 yr cuz what he found out, this was back i 1988 ish.. I was just listening to Fr Altman and he said over 60% of bishops are h0m0s3xual in the usa( exactly what my friend was telling me)... Is this normal now??? I feel i missed something growing up on a farm. Next street over from me 2 guys adopts some kids. What exactly is church teaching n this?
