It is simply impossible to convey in words the depth of Iain's philosophy, one can spend a lifetime analyzing it, applying it, and connecting with it, and still not even reach 1% of the levels of the Divided Brain paradigm. It is absolutely beautiful, all encompassing, and everlasting.

I love that we are here together and have each other, and it seems like most in the comments feel that way. However there just doesn’t seem like enough conversation on the actual content of what we are discussing. And I’m finding this with most people I talk to about this most recent series.. Reddit is a sad sad place to try to talk through the implications of what McGilchrist has written…. I’m just sensing this frustration in myself again listening to you guys recap the epilogue. And the frustration is so interconnected with everyone’s responses on the work. Because McGilchrist is essentially leaving us off at the final battle in lord of the rings. I mean… he is roughly saying “find your souls, get shaken by the beauty” “the world is in the 3rd and final break down” “we must act” “find your myth”. It’s like a battle call, a pump up from the king before we run into the end… FOR FRODO!!! And I just don’t feel the conversations about the work hit this reality. God forbid if I start to push on our doctor/wizard for his sneaky ways of getting us here.. like the idolizations of Iain stop the convos from penetrating deeper. So many have made him into their old man archetype… So yes.. frustration. Frustration because it always feels like we are sitting on the couch, sipping coffee, talking about the end and how me act… talking about how scary it is… but not really sending it for Frodo. Just observing from a distance. And if you play the myth of the sending it, then the observers get edgy. Just some thoughts as I listen.

Wonderful way to start my Monday Morning - I have so enjoyed how you both educated & showed me in chapter focus - and yet 😢 Good things end with lasting impact - you know after reading chapters delve in episodes a second time. Seriously - even better - goodness knows the depth explored here Very GRATEFUL for all your hours put into the series & to get to The End . . . in person - is just perfect ‼️ Thank You Iain and Alex - from this Humble & Happy 80 year Human, 😊 Nancy

Hei! Asutko Suomessa? PS. I will translate this in to english when I have a moment of peace...

Dear Ian and Alex, You are two of the greatest and most relevant teachers of our era. You have given me an experience of wholeness and released my attention/awareness from imprisonment by the dark/evil contracted, fearful, angry current, destroyer of our planet's habitability, that has taken root in our world. Through your insights, wisdom and guidance, I am awakening/experiencing, within my embodiment, the countercurrent of love, joy, connection, beauty that is our natural endowment. I am interested in connecting to anyone who is awakening to their wholeness; this connection will amplify the countercurrent of love and joy. In this connection/flow lies redemption for the human race....

I am so grateful to Iain for writing these books, for thinking so deeply about our plight and for transforming those thoughts into something beautiful that we can all treasure as we find our way. And I cannot imagine a more fitting partner in this journey than Alex. I feel genuine hope that the world is understandable for the first time since I was a child. You have both returned to me optimism, the Sacred and a sense of value that I had thought lost forever. Thank you.

I've been loving these conversations. I'm making my way slowly through the two volumes. I'm so excited about the way Iain's work makes such a robust frame for the kind of science that Goethe was aiming towards. We're getting there! If anybody is hungry for a book that complements Iain's work beautifully, check out, THE WHOLENESS OF NATURE by Henri Bortoft. He describes a new way of doing science that Iain's work helps elucidate in many wonderful ways.

It’s like he left this series at a point in which… hmmm how do I say this… It’s like after all this work. All this fucking insane amount of study, he brings you to this giant fucking hole in the earth with no bottom. It is our humanity, and more specifically the images in the imagination that bind us in a collective. And it’s endless, it’s deeeeeeep. But the whole point of the entire series was to get here… but there are voices coming from the hole, voices that mcgilchrist used himself to get one to the edge of the damn hole, that are expressing more riddles to this maze. And these voices transcend time… meaning that some voices come from Ancient Greece, while others come from the dark depths of the 1200, and others still from the start of the 20th century… but they are all speaking, or pointing, to a similar thing. So congruent actually that you wonder if there is a truth to be had that interconnects them all. And there is!!! And it is deeply intimate with the symbols that stem from our Christian past, as the man himself mentions in his books. So where I’m going with this wild story here is that he brought us to the edge of the hole so we could hear the voices ourselves and then go deeper into the journey. Cause there is much more to go in regards of the image of Christ and good and evil, in finding our myth. Much much more to go!!! Like… it’s like he just introduced us to the middle realm and all the crazy ass shit happening in the imagination for the RING. And yet with so many, I feel like they want to learn about all this without leaving the shire. And because of that they are barley engaging with the content and it’s true implications!!!! The calls to go down into the hole to bring order to what this all is… are very very scary. “Shaking”. And we need a damn good myth to feel the strength to go down there. McGilchrist got us to the hole, and he is prepping us with what we need to go down, but is he actually ready for the screams of the people he will now lower down? Cause that’s the reality we are discussing on the couch right now. Talking about actions that have within them some serious serious pain. “Get shaken”…

Thank you, gentlemen for the wonderful journey and thank you Dr. McGilchrist for your true Testimony. May those who have ears hear, and who have eyes see. "Know then thyself, presume not God to scan;
The proper study of Mankind is Man.
Plac'd on this isthmus of a middle state,
A being darkly wise, and rudely great:
With too much knowledge for the Sceptic side,
With too much weakness for the Stoic's pride,
He hangs between; in doubt to act, or rest,
In doubt to deem himself a God, or Beast;
In doubt his Mind or Body to prefer,
Born but to die, and reas'ning but to err;
Alike in ignorance, his reason such,
Whether he thinks too little, or too much:
Chaos of Thought and Passion, all confus'd;
Still by himself, abus'd, or disabus'd;
Created half to rise, and half to fall;
Great lord of all things, yet a prey to all;
Sole judge of Truth, in endless Error hurl'd:
The glory, jest, and riddle of the world!
 Go, wond'rous creature! mount where Science guides,
Go, measure earth, weigh air, and state the tides;
Instruct the planets in what orbs to run,
Correct old Time, and regulate the Sun;
Go, soar with Plato to th' empyreal sphere,
To the first good, first perfect, and first fair;
Or tread the mazy round his follow'rs trod,
And quitting sense call imitating God;
As Eastern priests in giddy circles run,
And turn their heads to imitate the Sun.
Go, teach Eternal Wisdom how to rule-
Then drop into thyself, and be a fool!" Alexander Pope, An Essay on Man

Your book is revolutionary for those enamored with scientism but I want to plead with you to write one more book to reach Christian fundamentalist in a way that speaks to them as you say, "In a manner in which they are accustomed to." This "manner" would be to speak "biblese," i.e., to show more specifically how your conclusions impact the interpretation of the Bible. Most of this is already implicit in your books, but needs to be made more explicit in the way that Jordan Petterson has made more explicit the implications of interpreting the Bible through Jungian principles. I realize fundamentalists of any stripe are a difficult target audience, but they are the loudest voice, and far more willing to lay down their lives for a causes they believe in, so they may control our destiny. Please write one more book

If only I could discuss with him about the Sacred or the God of the Bible to show him that humans could have not invented the idea of God because it's against human thinking and nature. I will continue to pray that God will either speak directly to Iain or indirectly thru somebody whom he will listen to and ponder on. God bless you Sir! I

Wonder is a loving concern for the world as it is in itself and marks the transition from the practical to the philosophical (GW VIII, 208). This “loving participation” of philosophy is, however, distinct from the classical notion of love (eros) as a lack. Love is understood by Scheler here in terms of the Christian sense of agape, loving as giving. The human being as a loving, philosophical being is not motivated to know by a sense of a lack, as is the case with eros, but is rather motivated by the abundance and surfeit of the meaning of the world (GW VI, 84). Modernity’s ethos of control and domination has transformed the world into a mere object of utility. As a means to reawaken a sense of wonder, Scheler called for a rehabilitation of virtue, in particular the virtues of humility and reverence (GW III, 15). The philosopher lives in reverence of the world, in astonishment of the world’s inexhaustible depth and secrets (GW III, 26).

Great discussion and maybe Ive misunderstood so apologies in advance, but I'm wondering, if we are not living inside an avatar that is inside a model of the universe that the brain has built for itself, then wouldn't that be incredibly hard work for the brain to build coherence from all the incoming sense data in real time? Surely that would require enormous computational resources?

-Listen what Christ has to say about our thoughts: “Be you the masters of your thoughts! For every thought, however fleeting, is recorded by the high vibrations of Darkness or of the Light, and you must all bear full responsibility for the sin and the evil that your thoughts create. This I say unto you all. For you shall know that by thought you influence one another to commit evil deeds or to do good; and you shall know that each thought, after a shorter or after a longer time will return unto its source: the good thoughts draw the Light toward you, bringing you peace and joy; the evil thoughts draw Darkness toward you, causing you many sufferings, much sorrow; for all the evil that you have wished upon others will turn without fail against yourself. Yea, hear my words! Be mindful of your thoughts and be you the masters of them! For each thought bears its good or its evil fruit; and when it is ripe, then must your own selves reap the fruit that your thoughts have borne. Never let your evil thoughts turn to deed! For you must all account in full for each of your deeds. Have you sinned against the earthly laws[…]” Uddrag fra: Michael Agerskov. “Toward the Light!”. iBooks.

The question remaining for me is the status (in ontology & value) of discrete moments of life in the ‘the flow’. There are times for me that the existence (even if passed and forgotten never registered) of personal horror & suffering (think of boxcar, gas chamber & stake) can not be justified by being washed away in the flow.
