yeah these courses are incredible. my Spanish is coming back so quickly - thanks so much for all these courses and clarity in the lessons. I've been taking notes and making notecards and look forward to coming back and learning what's next! I took 10 years of Spanish from 2nd grade to 12th and then lost a lot of it from not using it over the last decade. Went to Spain last week and decided I needed to relearn this beautiful language and feel confident around the world. The dinner thing was a big culture shock when we looked for authentic restaurants open around 6pm! They were all on siesta until 7:30-8pm to start taking reservations. Thanks again!!

Hola, soy Uganda. 😊 If you wanna learn Spanish, Dr Danny Evans, the language tutor is your guy. I have only been doing this for less than a week; I am on lesson 18 probably, but my! I can speak Spanish; I am even teaching my whole family! I don’t usually post comments, but I had to post here. Muchas gracias, Danny!

This is so true. I married into a latino family and they're always saying 'come at 6' and I've come to learn that they mean they want me to leave my house at 6 not arrive at six. And get used to late nights as well, sometimes we don't get home til 3am.

Time concept being different is so true.. I was used to North Indian times of going to the wedding which T+1.5 hour after invite time T. Me and my friends were shocked to see food and furniture being winding up at 10 pm in West India, where as in North of India, wedding go up to 1 am or 2 am in the night/next morning. lol.. I was shocked to hear my german friend calling me late (while in London) when I arrived 6 minutes later than decided time. I was like whatt??? Now I live in south of India where ur friend will tell u he is reaching "now" which means he will start after two hours from now and will reaching 4 hours from now. It's fascinating how these differences are within one country. I can only imagine how varied they in a global context. P.S. When we book cabs throughout India, usually they know and arrive 10-15 minutes early. Unless some driver is super unprofessional. Still, as a habit we keep an hour margin in our travel time, so as to make up for these kind of delays.

I loved one Iruish lady´s story about trying to teach her Brit husband about time in Ireland. They were invited to someone´s house for dinner at 6 PM. Her husband could not be restrained and insisted in going at 7 PM. She said the bewildered hosts here still in the shower getting ready.

I heard that in Spanish-speaking countries, if an invitation says a party starts at a certain time, you usually arrive a couple hours after that. If you arrive at the time stated, you'll probably find them just starting to put up the decorations.

Indian here. During a holiday I went back home by train. It was scheduled at 9 in the morning. I checked the schedule for 6 previous day. It arrived at 9.10, 9.15, 9.06, ..... atleast 5 minutes late. We consider it's OK for train to be 10 minutes late. But since I knew the halt at the station was only 1 minute, I decided to take no chances and reached the station at 8.58. ALAS !! the train was there at 9am sharp and departed at 9.01am😅From that day , I always arrive on time for train journeys

We have this *American time* means arrive exactly or ahead of the meeting time. *Filipino time* arrive later of the promise time 🤣 And I think we got this habit when were under spanish colonization.
