My favorite thing about watching blind deltarune play throughs is that people either hate Berdley so much they wanna throw him down a flight of stairs. Or on the other hand, they love Berdley so much they wanna throw him down a flight of stairs. It’s the exact same thing with Spamton.
@@robots2124 Eh, definitely fair to dislike how a character's popularity ends up overshadowing characters who are just as deserving of hate. That's not the character's fault, though, you shouldn't be hating them solely for fan response to them. Also, people's issues with Berdly isn't inherently about malice or lack thereof. People dislike him because he's inherently designed to be unlikeable: he's a toxic nerd who compensates for his insecurities by acting like a smug asshole. It's not uncommon to find someone exactly like that on the internet. People who hate him also got several years for that dislike to sink in before he got any kind of positive character development. Spamton, meanwhile, is a shady salesman with an odd speech pattern and appearance which could easily seen as either cute or creepy. He also gets free points for being a secret boss, on top of his boss form literally being Mettaton NEO(which for some reason some people thought should have been an actual boss in Undertale.). He's a character who is more charming on the surface, is based on an archetype that doesn't hit quite so close to home, and gets lots of free points due to the role he plays as well as the inspiration for his alternate form.
@@galvsparks6295 I did hate Berdly on chapter 1, but as soon as chapter 2 starts and the player gets bombarded with his Intellectual Gamer™ persona, the people into that kind of humor will immediately be able to tell that's their new favorite character. But then, as we start to see both his insecurities and genuinely awful traits, it should be pretty obvious the character is gonna be redeemed. I love that guy and hope the others will hang out with him a little more.
I think they're so hungry because nothing eaten in the Dark World (healing items) actually sustains Lightners. While in the Dark World, Susie mentions something along the lines of "Man, it feels like whatever I eat down here doesn't really matter". Also, Darkners and Kris's/our inventory turn into inanimate objects when returning to the light world, so that means the food in the Dark World can't actually feed Lightners, explaining why Kris ate the whole pie and why their movements might be so odd when they take out their Soul/the player. The lack of actual food combined with the dodging all day thing as well as the implications of Spamton when he was trying to break free from the 'strings' could explain their odd movements, poor Kris :(

Fun fact: Jevil's side-attacks had a bug on the Switch's initial release that caused them to insta-kill players, but it took awhile to get reported and be fixed, because players mostly just went 'wow, this guy's difficult' and kept going.
Yeah, I really like that Toby never overuses any jokes. It keeps the content feeling freshly funny every time. -Besides, he knows the fans will overuse the joke for him anyways.-
I don’t think his humour has changed all that much honestly, while memes live and die within weeks and hours of themselves Saltys humour is long lasting

I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal stuff lately and undertale and deltarunes stories have been helping me through it, the music too. Whenever I’m feeling down I’ve just been putting on the soundtrack to get determined
you have to have *been* berdley at some point and forgive that portion of your personality, disintegrate it, absorb it, and laugh at your old self, in order to appreciate him. yea it’s pretty deep

God this game is so freaking good I always get goosebumps at that chapter 2 ending. Every time I watch another person play it I fully enjoy it, it never gets boring. Gonna lose my marbles. I really truly hope the rest of the chapters don't take too long to come out

The "on days like these, kids like you should be playing FORTNITE" joke is actually kinda canon in Chapter 2 In Chapter 2 Undyne says something like this: "Its the weekend, in days like these, kids like you shouod be playing videogames!" I dont remember the exact dialogue but its something like that
It's so refreshing to see people playing deltarune totally blind and immediately putting together that it's an AU, rather than a sequel or prequel. If only people would also realize that Sans' "befriended your mom" line is literally just a yo momma joke and stop enabling the shippers, who are singlehandedly responsible for 86% of the toxicity and bad fanfiction on the internet. Also, I relate so much to the pain of that Carousel attack of Jevil's. The worst part is, the attack itself isn't that hard, the hitboxes are actually tiny, but it's just pure visual overload that makes it hard to learn the patterns. Unrelated to anything else, but I find it really funny how literally everyone, regardless of their opinion on Berdly, mention wanting to kill him before discovering the Snowgrave route. Really shows that Berdly, inherently, is either that guy you hate with a burning passion and want to murder him violently, or someone you love to hate. There's no inbetween, but it can still be hard to tell which is which. Discount Falco is truly a perfectly made unlikeable character.
Watching this is like a time capsule, not just from hearing salty from four years ago, but also because it's been years since I played the first chapter. They really toned down the edge/cryptic stuff in the game
I think salty’s spamton voice is one of the best, if not THE best spamton voice, I know you may not love fnf, but I hear your working on Vs. Oswald, if anyone does a good Spamton mod, hope they come to you
I'm surprised Salty did such a good voice for Spamton without knowing anything prior. Most people picked...."odd" voices their first playthrough, but you VERY quickly picked up on the whole bracket gimmick. I'm honestly kind of impressed

The fact that he made a game after Undertale and is consistently making it better is amazing. So many people make one hit wonders, but Toby fox is proving that success wasnt an accident.
I honestly don't think Kris is the Knight. When you talk to Undyne at the police station, you have the option to tell her about the Dark World, but she just laughs it off. She think Kris is just playing pretend, or something like that. So, when Kris gets home, they rip their Soul out, and slash Toriels' tires, probably knowing that Toriel would call the police about it. Then, by opening a Dark Fountain in their home, they can prove to Undyne they weren't just playing make-believe, because she'll enter the Dark World.
first time watching anything Deltarune related. I'm having a hard time dstinguishing between edited jokes and what's really in the game and I want to keep it that way
