Undertale Fangames are Amazing

I feel like it's really apropriate how important fangames are for Undertale, considering that Toby Fox himself started as a game developer from making Earthbound romhacks :D

Undertale yellow part aged well. I suddenly had a realisation of how well prepared the script was when the demo released. Looking at Dalv and your thinking about your words it seemed back there as more simple story, more straight forward. But it made me realise how good this game's design and story really are

As for Undertale Yellow, Flowey's apparent friendly nature could be explained that in this game, Flowey doesn't become insane till after the Yellow soul is captured, meaning that while Flowey still isn't able to feel emotions, by this point, he isn't deep into the save file rabbit whole, the thing that made him lose his sanity.

I'm a little late to the party, but really enjoyed this video! Lead dev on TS!Underswap, and assistant writer on Deltatraveler -- I can tell a lot of love and effort went into making this video, especially when it came to research (and using official sprites!) Really glad you liked both :D

i think instead of making a new part 2 you should show where these are now! Undertale red got a remake TS!underswap has the starlight isles (best music) Undertale yellow released and is honestly more jam-packed than the original undertale and thats just some of them

I thought underswap was only like a fan art type thing where ppl made comics, I wasn't expecting that it was a full game, and it looks super awesome!

Another Undertale fangame approaching the finish line is called PS!Outertale (Or Project Spacetime). Currently its set to release around July to August of this year.

apart from the fact that we has to wait 7 years for them to release the complete fangame, well, the more we wait, the more we know its going to me awesome

another great fangame that you kinda talked about is disbelief. not only does it have the super hard paps fight with music that goes super hard, but it also has six additional fights in the extras menu. i had a whole phase where i played the jevil survival one for a few weeks everyday for like an hour before rage quitting. im gonna relapse.

so cool so awesome imma have to check these out whenever i feel like subjecting myself to undertale again

Remember flowey said that he solved everyone’s problems and made it home perfectly happy before eventually getting curious and things to not feeling bad about decided to kill. Flowey at this point it’s being nice because he hasn’t gotten bored yet and hasn’t killed everyone yet. If he really wanted to betray you he literally could’ve taken your soul like he didn’t in undertale only this time it will work because clover can’t save . So there’s not gonna be a betrayal at least not in that way he’s good in this one

you should definitely check out thundertale it’s a really cool kinda meta bossfight with multiple endings! it’s so epic and has cool mechanics

alright Im gonna say this, im probably gonna get flamed for my opinion or my comment deleted by the creator unless the creator is actually a good person who is open to other peoples opinions but ill say this, while yes there are some good fan games and fan content, undertale is rather infamous also for a lot of its fan content is: -unoriginal -so edgy that it looks like a 14 year old wrote it -horrible grammar -boss fights that rather then being creative in their difficulty instead just throw a million things at you (im looking at you fan sans boss fights that have a million gasters in them) -terrible jokes -self insert things -the "cursed" stuff (I refuse to get into further detail, if your an adult whos been on the internet long enough you know what i refer to). I do like some of the fangames, but I am a sole believer that the original game is the best out of everything and that no fan game can ever hope to surpass the level of undertale. undertale has a sort of simplicity to it that the fan games tend to often miss and think that being overly complex is what made undertale good, if you look at the rpg elemets, they are pretty standard and basic, with a decent dodging system as well, they are not complex to the point that you need to have perfect movement (exept for the sans fight, but even then you can just learn the moves each death). undertale was crafted in mind to be a story that many people can enjoy and relate to, its a very broad game which is why it works so well, but the issue with fangames is that they are extremly niche in their themes, you wanna see undyne as a guy, play this fangame, but not everyone is gonna want to play that game which is why they will only ever be as half as interesting as the original to some people ore even less. Toby fox created a masterpiece and people have been trying to create it by changing only certain elements about it, they are only slightly altering the Dna of the game to make it seem like something new, there are fan games out there though that Change the Dna so much though that they are probably the closest stuff to Tobys own level, but a lot of fan games to me just seem like reskins rather then new creations. I hope you dont take my words as a Sign that I think fangames are bad, I just dont really like most of them because none of them gave me the same feeling that undertale did and to me they just feel like sad attempts to recapture the magic that toby made, meanwhile Toby fox made deltarune a game that has a completely diffrent story with some characters from his past game showing up, but because its so unique and diffrent compared to its original while still resembling the same comedy and charm of undertale it feels like a breath of fresh air to me and its why I think delatrune currently is as good as undertale if not better in some areas (especially combat now)
