@@What-uj9bm, at least with Sans, his attacks are comprehensible, can be memorized to perfection, only two of his attacks are ever as long as Martlet's, AND you get good healing items (Pie, Instant Noodles, Face Steak, Snow Piece, etc.). The final Martlet fight makes Sans look like the tutorial boss.
Random idea:the capsules that keep the souls shut and kept away are a source if imagination for the souls, that all of these routes (genocide and other non-cannon ones) are just a part of clover's imagination, thinking its the real deal.
I kinda like Undertale Yellow's Genocide Run. Clover has the soul of justice, this mass murder he is carrying out here is not necessarily the work of a madman who kills just because he can, Clover is acting here out of pure vigilantism. Five people were killed and more are expected to die and everyone in the underground supports it, which makes them just as guilty as the actual murderers in human law terms. So he acts both out of self-defense and revenge, Clover wants to live and Clover also wants to avenge the people who fell before him, because in his eyes they deserve to die, they deserve to be victims of his Vendetta. This is a really interesting perspective from a psychological perspective.
Every route can be justify from a different point of view of the Justice Pacifist: Clover judge them not guilty, or at least they don't deserve death Neutral: Well... It depend of the character but for exemple Starlo, he treat his acolyte like shit and wanted a duel, Clover give him want he want, and you can justify for every character to be honest And Genocide: You explain very well!
Plus technically going by undertale lore and just normal logic from atleast from what humanity knows (and I'm sure clover would know of this aswell by extension ) technically 6 humans would be considered missing one confirmed dead assumed to be a victim of the mosnters (that being chara) and the other 5 being actually missing but also dead and stuff so yeah 6 humans being killed by the mosnters would be a big no no even if the other 5 would be considered missing considering what happened to chara somebody would likely connect the "dots" and easily guess that the monsters killed the other 5 which would be correct
i guess he didnt show up because Clover did all of this for justice, and frisk on genocide route did all of this to destroy humans and monsters and became more powerful, so Clover is not bad, which means karma wouldnt work on Clover@@chill_sample(sorry for mistakes)
thinking about that in every other ending of undertale, asgore is either killed by flowey, or takes his own life clover is the only human to defeat asgore, wild
I like how when axis said he was forced to neutralize the human Clover got so pissed off he leveled up out of anger without even killing anything in that moment, then proceeds to absolutely obliterate him 💀 that was such a “f you say?” Moment
I like how with every boss fight there's more and more changes. First one, Dalv, barely has any changes. Attacks are the same, only the dialogue and expression have changed. The second one, Martlet, has remixed music, similar to normal attacks but harder and new attacks. Her motive and pose have changed. The third one is an entirely new boss fight, Ceroba in her lowest point. She has lost everyone, her husband, her daughter, and now you killed her childhood friend in front of her. No reasons for her to hold back here, she will battle until she dies. The fourth one, Axis, also feels like an entirely new one. Not only you have reversed roles, as Axis defending against YOU, making him invulnerable to attacks, but his attacks also become really different since you're not longer the one holding the shield. And then we have that scene where Clover just lasers down Axis in pure rage. Final one, the Zenith Martlet may be similar to masked Ceroba from pacifist route, but that's only because of flashback and shooting soul mode. Ceroba was throwing everything she had at you, but not because she wanted you dead, it was only in hopes of saving her daughter and finishing the last wish of her husband. Martlet on the other hand, only tries to protect everyone by fighting with you. She doesn't give up when you break her armor, and even when she starts to melt, she still tries to fight. Until the last moment, she just had hope that you will die and this nightmare will end.
It’s less heartbreaking because at least we got something good out of it, clover surviving and the souls being freed. Also they only killed NON innocent people who attacked them first (you may argue hunting for monsters but in this game the encounter balloon stays a exclamation mark and doesn’t change to the smiley implying that they were still surprised. They may have just wanted to run in circles for 20 minutes with no particular reason AND wanted to defend themself) while frisk is worse for starting encounters with people like monster kid AND doing kills of those who found them
@@fredthemailman1880I feel like the ending is a good one in some ways it’s just frisk is going to have second thoughts of come down into the underground
I feel so bad for Martlet. When she injected herself (and after she was shot by clover), was she bleeding or was she leaking the liquid from the syringe? (I thought it was a screwdriver before she dropped it) Sans was bleeding red when he was knifed by Frisk, and it’s not ketchup because red pixels were coming out of his mouth
Similar to how the Amalgamates in the hidden lab (forgot what it's called lol) in Undertale had a similar effect because they were injected with a DT extract.
From what i heard from a fandom user, the fluid she self-injected could not be determination, because the effects are different. “The syringe can't be determination, since the timeline does not line up, nor do the effects. It DOES line up with the Integrity extract, however, which has the same effects as a monster absorbing a human SOUL, based on how Ceroba was trying to use it on Kanako.” “The implication is Not Determination, due to a direct contradiction in how Determination works. The idea of it being DT contradicts her having the Exact same reaction Kanako did to the Integrity extract, with the exception of her surviving, and it Also turning her SOUL blue, Just like what happened to Kanako. Martlet also starts melting Before her HP hits 0, whereas Undyne proves melting from DT doesn't occur until HP is At 0” -FrostTheFrozenFox So i thought that Martlet got shot by clover, but she actually got an heart attack or whatever from the fluid. It still looked so nasty
@eurybiaball847 I didn't notice that the soul turned blue, I'll recheck that. I think Martlet melting is just the effect going away, she dies because of the attacks while she loses the effect of DT. Does the color of the extract matter? Because the syringe that Martlet used is Red.
2:36:25 It seemed funny to me that Marlet indifferently told the former Royal Scientist how she would protect him if a human killed his family... What.. That's what happened, or isn't it?
Not gonna lie, this is my favorite route, but not because of some edgy thing like wanting to terrorize people, but because I think is the only one (except maybe fake pacifist?) that actually represents what the yellow soul stands for: justice; a really warped sense of justice, yes, but here you can actually see Clover wanting to make justice for the 5 human souls. And besides, I do like that Clover gets to free the souls, seeing him walk out with all of them is kind of beautiful (that is, if you ignore the massacre he caused).
(Walk out with the others) I thought you needed 8 souls or something or is asgore one. Also I agree I with your points but justice may be blind but it isn't stupid too. Or shouldn't be, hopefully.
@@renaglorio7044 uuuh din't know that I'm guessing asgore is addception because he is a boss monster or something, if so in original undertale why din't he break the barrier. Also I think that genocide route could be a way of showing the worst side of an emotion with none of the upsides maybe.
@@savannhcowboy9715 in undertale explains that a monster can get out of the underground with one human soul, asriel did that when the humans kill him (sorry if my inglish is not perfect)
there's some patterns that I learned that helped me ALOT during Ceroba I recommend you go to this video to look at the patterns and understand them ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9S7XM4JKPAs.html oh and by the way if you're still struggling, In the main menu of the game there's something called "Config" and you can enable easy mode
@@Bobplushie666undertale fans explaining how throwing random unpredictable luck based bullshit at you and expecting you to sit on your ass for 6 hours to learn them is a good challenge
@Fall-oo6mt sans's unpredictable attacks become way more fair when they give you around 2 to 3 seconds to react, which is all you need when you realize the attacks are very simple in nature (take his "slam into the wall" bone attack for example). Martlet on the other hand has a good 55% of her attacks balanced around the finicky annoying dash mechanic, and with all the bullshit on screen you can't even see exactly where you're gonna dash to begin with. It's like if cuphead balanced their bosses around the smoke bomb ability. It's a nice ability but if it's so good you have to balance the final boss around It's existence and overly punish those who aren't able to use it properly vecause of how finicky it can be then that's just sucky boss design lmao
That is a really good touch in comparison to original undertale, that a genocide route actually has some believable motivations, other than just being mindless psychopath.
@@ekaterinaobraztsova4631 why ? Genocide is a certain behavior, not an emotion, not idea. Player commits literal genocide in both undertales on this path, so it fits.
Seeing the final boss of the genocide route. Im astonished. I did the genocide route in undertale but here, it makes the sans fight like a piece of cake. Im gonna struggle in this route. Btw you are good at this game
"Ah came down here ta' finish what you monsters started all that time ago. If ya want a second war, so be it. By the time the clock reaches twelve, the last of you will fall 'afore you can clear leather."
But wasn't it the humans who attacked first in the first war? The monsters didn't start it, humans acted out of fear. And the monsters didn't start it this time, the humans killed the monsters' prince and heir to the throne. That's an act of war in any nation.
@chrissysonicutdrloz yes but considering just before that said prince was holding a dead chara who was assumed to be killed by him by the humans technically that could be considered a act of war in of itself since the monsters were sealed and it can be easily assumed they killed this innocent human child (chara) as revenge for thier sealing
@@Bobthegoober-yn6fc in other words, Asriel was 100% innocent, and the humans acted out of fear and judgment, intending to execute him without a trial
@@chrissysonicutdrloz yes plus they dident know asriel was innocent in the first place remember that the humans on the surface probably dont really know what's going on down in the underground so as far as thier aware asriel killed a human child and not only committed essentially a act of war but sent the time of peace after the monsters were sealed down the drain pretty much (of course obviously assumedly)
chara was only reborn when their soul was bound to frisk's body. chara would never have just let people go the way genocide clover did, or participated in starlo's dual. they would've just started blasting.
@@goobertron9132and even if they have LV 20, that's still not enough, 20 LV is weak for clover to revıve chara, it shows that they need 999999+ EXP for that to be done, to match the LV of frısk, they need at least to be at LV 50+ for that, and bypass the max LV just as how they bypassed flowey's control of the save, the way you need to increase LOVE, and maybe more
Had to watch the ending here since I was annoyingly stuck on the compound mixing minigame, and safe to say I am astonished. I wonder how the game's dialogue goes when you RESET after completing Genocide. Because we already saw how it happens after Pacifist, but still.
no... this is genocide. killing almost the entirety of monsterkind, even the ones who did no wrong, just 2 save 5 (already dead) people, is not justifiable. like Martlet said, they only killed five, Clover killed dozens.
19:50. i hate the implications of this but yet it goes to show the attention to details made, This implies that decibat never came because of how quiet it is. that's really dark.
I think ive found a bug where if you save at the point just before killing axis, kill axis without killing all the other robots, then quit without saving upon realizing that puts you back on neutral, random encounters break forcing you onto neutral. Why.
@@hammerheadd I couldn’t figure out how to edit the file so I did reset but I ended up finishing genocide anyway it wasn’t really that much of a problem since I learned how to beat ceroba
This is just a speculation but i think all this happened back before sans even came to the underworld. Maybe around (by theory) back when Gaster was a sane royal scientist. But then again i'm just throwing ball here
@@chrissysonicutdrloz good point. But still, judging by the g-followers, Alphys worked under Gaster. So i believe both sans, gaster AND alph coexisted.
It's kinda ironic that the cruelest route is the only one that allows you to "win", since in Neutral Flowey just forces a reset on you, while a Pacifist makes you give up your soul and die
Hey after i defeat axis, my face is normal again and the neutral ending is there and axis just gets tired, i tried going through the entirety of stsamworks but no encounters.
One thing I never got about the Undertale games is the constant focus on pacifism. I’m not sorry, if someone tries to KILL ME intentionally, I’m going to defend myself with equally lethal force. That being said, pure “kill everyone and everything in my path” also isn’t my style, so going on the offensive for the sake of blood lust like Clover seems to do is off the table.
While true, lemme correct you on the last bit you said, clover didn't do it out of pure bloodlust, they commited mass genocide in the name of "Justice" for the other human souls u saw at the end
Thank you for recording this! I got all the day to Ceroba and got amazingly stuck learning the Wild Revolver. This route definitely doesnt hit the same way Pacifist does, but I like how you get more context about Chuujin and Martlet's moral codes
Unrelated, but I approve of the Aubrey cosplay profile picture. Even more unrelated, I’ve been studying Japanese for a while, so it made me real happy to be able to understand your username!
Why does the end make this feel like the good ending? Like I can't be the only one who thinks fuck Asgore as Clover avenaged the 5 humans leading their souls free
This is cruelty. Insane, terrifying. Mad. I never really understood how well made and meaningfull the genocide route was. You are so determined to Complete every boss💛 Thanks for uploading this, cause this is the first genocide I’ve seen. Its not like I’d ever complete it, like you, so I decided to just watch it. This is insane. Martlet truely was a hero. And I love that part when Flowey said too much, tear everything apart - do What it takes for me to get my souls. It was never friendship. Clover is so terrifying. Thanks again💓
I love this path and ending him saving the lost souls and going home living a long and happy life that to me is a good ending I bet frost we’ll think twice about falling into the underground
tbh going genocide on Undertale Yellow is much nicer than the undertale genocide route, our actions on whatever path we choose wether Pacifist, Neutral or Genocide its all viable for me. There is a reason why toriel stops you from the beginning, because she knows how corrupt the underground is and how many kids will be slaughtered “just for their sake” wether there are good monster or bad ones, nobody ever stopped the king from killing/capturing in order to obtain the souls for freedom, only toriel tried to warn us, even papyrus in undertale knew what undyne was up to even if you’re his friend, the sense of justice here for the plot is incredibly Good, makes me feel like were the ones whom gives the monster their JUDGEMENT. OH AND in undertale the only thing i regreted when doing genocide was killing tori😭
wait, wasn't clover the third soul to fall down? (including chara) why are all the others souls discluding frisks there? also, why didnt sans appear in the hall? was he not aware of the murders?
1. The ending shows that he’s the 6th soul and 7th fallen (unlike frisk, who was the 8th fallen and 7th soul) 2. It is most likely that sans was unaware, since he never met clover, and adding sans at the end would just be plain unfair after you battled a bird that purposely injected herself with DT, and became absurdly powerful And 3. For all we know, this could take place year’s before frisk fell!!!
i think omega flowey implied the order of humans that fell down through the order of souls that attack you, (patience > bravery > integrity > perseverance > kindness > justice) so in this case clover is the 6th human to fall
ugh, you go through the diolauge but quit doing it at some point. not really much of a point in posting the full playthrough no commentary if i cant even read the story.
The thing is, the genocide route in undertale and undertale yellow are pretty much the same. BUT, it hits and feels different because of the difference between frisk and clovers intentions/personality. Because Frisk is doing this for their own determination, while Clover is doing it for justice.
Pretty much sums it up, although most say and think frisk does it out of curiosity. Like "what would happen if-" yeah its sick but they had the power to reset timelines so doing it didn't really have that much consequenses. On the other hand clover did it to "avenge" the other souls you saw at the ending. If i'm correct 1 human soul = 10 normal monster souls (not sure abt this) so yeah
@@Pearlionon I'm not entirely sure if it's been said in-game, but I'm pretty sure one human soul is actually equal to about every monster soul in the Underground.
@@Nome_the_Furry if thats the case it supports my theory. Since 1 soul equals the entire underground, clover basically said "an eye for an eye" either way he did it to "avenge" the kids
weird that despite genocide altering the timeline greatly everyone besides asgore from the original game lives we fall and skip toriel, skelebros havent even moved in snowdin yet, raft saved undyne from death(though id like to see undyne fighting with clover knowing how simillar their mindset is), mettaton wasnt created yet and we skipped alphys the only one from the indertale character that die is asgore everyone was evacuated so underground is not entierly dead from base game perspective yellows genocide is neutral here
My favorite part is probably how the pacifist& genocide routes both represent justice, but in very different ways. In the pacifist route, justice is shown by pursuing Corona and fighting her, then deciding it is the right thing to do to give them your SOUL. In the genocide route, just is shown in a much worse, much more warped way by Clover delivering “justice” to all the monsters that took the other 5 humans SOULS.
This applies more to the Neutral and Pacifist routes, but… am I the only one who is confused about the nature of the monsters? If all these monsters are nice and sweet, like Sweet Corn, why are they attacking? Why do they look so hurt when you attack them back? Rosa even calls you a jerk for hitting her when she hits you! And why are there multiple types of enemies? Like, why are there so many identical Cactonies?
I couldn't play this Run. Not because I love the characters (Starlo was my favorite by the way), but because it was too hard for me. I just suck at dodging. The first time i couldn't get past Ceroba, but the second time I couldn't get past Martlet's first battle even though i did the first time, probably out of luck . . .
I love how empty the ending of this route leaves you, there's no true sense of completion or satisfaction. It's like the game itself is telling you that this isn't how things are meant to end (which is pretty neat considering the pacifist ending is the polar opposite in every way)
Well, i felt 100% satisfied with this ending, i guess the feelings one gets from this ending vary from person to person, besides, most people do genocide last so, you could say the story ends like this in several cases
@@santiagojoaquinrojas9435 True, I am a tad biased tho because I played through Pacifist and was plenty satisfied with that ending. I may have reset to see the other endings if it weren't for the whole reset awareness thing Undertale had but also I just prefer the Pacifist ending over the others all together so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Haven't watched the pacifist playthroughs of this yet, but is it revealed which child Clover is specifically down there for? Like which one is the one Axis killed?
semi spoilers? clover wasn't down for anyone specifically, he was looking for the five human souls in general it's implied that the soul axis killed was integrity (blue soul), one because of the color of the serum ceroba injected into kanako (blue) and two theres an easter egg in the ruins which has a picture of axis shooting the blue soul
Is that truly what Flowey wanted? 2:47:20 I really hoped Sans would've appeared here.. Why he didn't showed up anyway? Sans should've known atleast about a huge threat roaming around the underground?
sans most likely knows about DT, and he most likely spied on the fight with martlet (assuming he didn’t evacuate). if he saw a tiny kid kill a giant bird that was injected with DETERMINATION? yeah it’s over, if sans fought clover he’d be gone in 2 seconds. if not that he evacuated / asgore told him not to block clover
@@Moonlo99 Yet he was fighting a kid who was definitely stronger than Clover? Could've atleast joined Martlet or dunked Clover while he was distracted killing Flowey.
* (An enemy is nearby. ) * (No loose ends. ) * (The end lies beyond. ) * (Let JUSTICE be done. ) I can only assume what Martlet sees if she Checks you ("ATK 48 DEF 21. Here to deliver JUSTICE)"
