Saying that Embiid hasn't been in shape is just not paying attention. Embiid has been in shape the last 3 seasons. Even this past season he was playing strong in the 4th qtr during the regular season. Embiid has changed his diet as well. But he's a big dude and his knee caused him issues. It's funny because when all is going well, they say Embiid looks in great shape. They take an L and all of a sudden he's in bad shape. Shaq wasn't in some crazy excellent shape winning championships, but he didn't make the same moves as Embiid.
You do understand that people who are in shape can also get injured right? You sound ridiculous. He was in great shape heading into the playoffs he was just still injured @@YourBeastRoy
I am someone from Philly my whole 51 years of life and I agree...the nation portrayal of Embiid is not correct. Jo was in the best shape of his life last year until the injury happened. It's a tired narrative, just like the Philly fans suck...they threw snowballs at Santa Clause.
as a sixers fan we are the dallas cowboys of the nba. I feel like that’s why he has some love for us. It’s a soft spot. He can relate to our playoff chokejobs and cursed woes.
People really have no clue what an in shape Embiid looks like. He's been in shape for the last 3 years. National media really has no clue what it's talking about
They really don’t. He hired a dietician and they don’t even seem to know that. He just is one of those guys with a body that will not hold up. Plain and simple there just have been guys like that and he is one of them. It is what it is. The problem for him was not that he is not in shape because he is. When you average 33 and 13 against the Knicks in a very tough physical playoff series with only one good knee and half your face is having a stroke but you still are a +46 when you are on the floor. The problem is not you being in shape or not. The problem was having a teammate in Ben Simmons for years and him not wanting to EVER get better and become a great player. And then when you finally get a guy who wants to win(Jimmy Butler). Who you got along great with and came down to a lucky bounce by Kawhi Leonard that hit the rim like four times before it went in. And then after only like 50 something games together your team decides to pay Tobias Harris instead of Jimmy Butler. And then for three next 5 years Tobias Harris proceeds to steal money like the world’s greatest bank robber and never show up in the playoffs to help Embiid. Yea…..THAT and decisions like THAT by his team’s former management have been Joel Embiid’s problem. Thank God for Daryl Morey trying to clean up that absolute mess. Smfh
@revealingtruth3329 sounds like Paul George is what the sixers need then. I'm not going to lie, my bucks are in trouble, not only do we have to worry about the knicks, now we ha e to worry about the sixers, along with boston. I guess we will see what the season brings
Same tired narratives “he needs to get in shape” bro shut up you not watching basketball lol dude been in GREAT shape the last 2 seasons. can’t do what he does at that level at that size and be out of shape
Just like every other big man his size, he struggles with fatigue and injuries. Until kobe, Shaq struggled with being in shape in his late 20s and early 30s. Those Lakers teams with Shaq really whipped him in the shape, and Kobe allowed him to rest. Don't even get me started on the rest of the big men in history and the what if stories. For every big man who reached his potential, there are three more who had injuries ruined their career before it ever gets started You simply aren't supposed to be 7 ft 2 and 300 lb and run around for 40 minutes a night
Embiid's problem is not staying in shape anymore, as he has hired a dietician and seemed to be in great shape the last two seasons to start. It's how he plays the game of basketball. He tries to play like he's 6'6 and also like he's not the superstar all at the sametime. 1. Embiid STOP diving on the floor for loose balls in the regular season. 2. Stop falling all the dam time. 3. Stop bringing the ball up, you're not Jokic. Be you. 50% of the time someone strips him becuz he dribbles high & then he dives on the floor tryin to save face. Luv Embiid but he's so frustrating & he needs to grow up.
No the Hell he not ! Maxey is @ Helluva player a superstar in the making - But let's pump our brakes 4 a minute - he's no Damn Paul George! Maxey doesn't play above the Rim Nor - Do he post Up! Or iz Maxey a shut down defender like George: l do give the edge to Maxey,iz Quicker & faster & Better three point shooter but that's about it!
At this point fox should just pay up keys contract and let him go, time to find someone who is actually interested in making good points about multiple sports
You won’t win Embiid as the guy. PG is a good player but similar to Embiid comes up small when it matters most. Unless Maxey turns from a star into a boarderline superstar, it won’t matter in the long run.
The key move for the Sixers was stealing Caleb Martin. That really adds to the mix and is exactly what they needed with the addition of Paul George. Daryl Morey's best move by far. They should make some real noise in the playoffs.
Kawhi injuries compared to Joel are like not even close. Kahwi is hurt alll the time. Joel hurt yes still plays in playoffs. Keyshawn knows nothing about bskt in shape😅😅😅😅. Joel doesnt get hurt LY he wins MVP
Ngl this some of the laziest journalism by keyshawn when it comes to embid. Even Rachel is like uhh idk what you're talking about. that hasn't been the narrative for years.
I’m not convinced 76ers can go far with Paul George. I think they will be good regular season. I think everyone knows what Paul George can do in the regular season but playoffs I’m not convinced the team will go far especially with embid and injuries George and his struggles. Their best chance was 2019 and kawhi destroyed their chances.
@StraightBleach Casuals won't ever understand nor subscribe to these sensible thoughts. I say let the hateful rhetoric come to pass. We do have to prove everything on the court. I'm quietly confident but only time will tell. Let's enjoy some great bball sight these guys in the meantime when the season starts.
