Well whilst 7 years is a long time to wait for surgery I would suggest that your case would not be seen as urgent or a priority. There are many people with serous life endangering medical issues that should come first
@@andrewarthurmatthews6685 that is true, it wasn't for the surgery though, that was just the waiting list to be seen by the gender identity team to get hormones or any kind of gender affirming care.
The Newcastle clinic has a 6 year waiting list. I got another 3 years to wait. Been DIY in the meantime. Flipping heck that has been expensive. And private blood tests too with Medichecks.
You never know they might surprise you and be quicker, they really just need more people working in the field though. Its great that you've been able to fund the hrt yourself in the mean time even if it is expensive, best of luck 🩷
7 years to wait just to start on HRT from the NHS is so insane. The UK needs implied consent waiver laws like we already do here in most states in the US. As for dating on apps yes you are so right how hard it is for trans-people to find a compassionate partner to date/hook up. That only adds to the anxiety you were just talking about. Plus there really needs to be a better app just for trans-people to not only date, but also meet others in the community just for companionship and mental health benefits too. Revealing you are trans is always so tricky because that is a personal decision.
I am a transwoman who lives in Australia. There is no way I could wait forever for the NHS to approver HRT let alone any surgery. We are so much more fortunate here. Having said that I did have to go to Thailand for bottom surgery as is is half the price to here and there is only months of a wait list. When I booked it only took me 6 weeks for surgery. You should save hard to get bottom surgery and then you can go swimming and also wear better fitting clothes.
@@PhilippaJane Unfortunately I've never been in a position to be able to save for that surgery. I did manage to be able to go private for hormones but it was a bad experience. Thankfully the NHS are great and it shouldn't be too long now before I’m able to have the surgery :)
I’m blessed to be in California my doctor in my gender affirming clinic is an angel. Also it’s good that I am gender fluid, I get to boy mode in public so no need to worry to much about misgendering if they think I’m a girl great but regardless I out myself with the way I talk and mannerisms. 😅
Hi! I absolutely love your presentation, so informative. And I really mean this, you are truly beautiful. Your transition inspires others to transition. I wish I new everything I know now back in 1968, because I would have transitioned then, no doubt. What a pleasure to have found you on RU-vid. Thanks for sharing everything. Amber
@@MalibuBarbiieDelish I'm actually going to Planned Parenthood here in the States for my first appt for MTF HRT!! I know I'm "older" but I just have to try it before it's too late. Wish me luck! I'm so excited!
@@MalibuBarbiieDelishI'm not holding my breath for that one. I believe it's not a priority for the NHS which we know is struggling hugely across all departments. For various debatable reasons, trans healthcare comes way down the list. 😢
God help this generation ... regardless if it helps you. Ok but this wont bring you peace its evident .. Iam nof going put you down but please find peace butchering your self wanting countless surgerys wont fill the emotional void .please look for peace with in your self
I was referred to the NHS in September 2019 and I have only heard from them a couple of times. When I last checked they had reached people referred in April 2019. I fear I will never get zn appointment as I'm now 80. I have never had any problems as yet with other peoples attitude.
April 2019 is pretty good, I was referred in October 2016 and made it to the top of the list just over a year ago so that seems like good progress for a year, I’m sure you don’t have long left to wait don’t lose hope!
