Our journey to the interior of Alaska was not anything like we expected. We originally thought we would be able to take the ferry all the way from Bellingham to Valdez, only to find out that one of the main ferry ships was out for the season. The furthest north we could get was Haines, and from there, the only way into the interior of Alaska is by crossing into Canada. While we weren’t expecting this to be part of our route, we embraced the adventure and beautiful scenery in the Yukon territory.
