What ppl don't understand is that Seinfeld the show is almost exclusively funny because of Larry David. If Curb came first Seinfeld would've been completely unnecessary. Good video dude this pop tart movie looked dumb as frick
I think Seinfeld has the ability to be funny, but the days of the 90s are gone and he hasn’t done much since then that has made me excited for his comedy career. His legacy is cemented just due to the enormity of his sitcom.
Tbh Seinfeld’s stand up never resonated with me. I think Seinfeld was the perfect use of his comedic style and nothing has come close to replicating that magic. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed my review and consider subscribing!
Burr says stuff that's funny, and you laugh. Jerry EXPECTS you to laugh, because he was around a generation ago when funny stuff was said and done in his vicinity.
I always say, if other comedians had the opportunity to make shows the way they wanted when Seinfeld came out, Seinfeld would have never been regarded as funny. Jerry just bought his way into the industry and had Larry David
Fair enough. Sometimes I get lost in all the elements of the movies and overall ideas that I don’t actually hit the plot. Thanks for watching and I hope you consider subscribing for more!
I haven’t seen this movie Unfrosted because I no longer have a subscription to Netflix, but I’m guessing the irony of this film not being funny has to do with the fact that the movie was made by committee, which is the very thing that Jerry Seinfeld said in a recent interview is the very thing that is destroying comedy in movies and television shows today.
Netflix should give budget to new groups coming to them with a good script rather than seek out famous people with a large budget because then they make the least amount of effort and give us these types of shitfilled "content". boring ass crap no one asked for. like most netflix originals.
I wanna check out the movie. I was on the fence, but you sound so dry and boring, and if you don't enjoy it, maybe I will. Not a Jerry fan, but not a hater of him. I am a fan of comedy. No offence bud, but you don't seem like a comedy demographic.
I think this movie is geared toward a particular (older) demographic. Its style is a sort of synthesis of the goofy/madcap comedy of the 80s (National Lampoon, Naked Gun, etc.) and the ironic, observational humor of the 90s that Seinfeld helped popularize, set in an era that younger viewers are completely disconnected from. I can completely understand how someone born mid-90s or later would find this movie unpalatable. I personally don't care for Seinfeld's stand-up. I respect what his show did, but that was on the strength of his co-writers and crew as much anything, so I went into this movie with very low expectations. Perhaps this led to a sunnier reception...in any event I found Unfrosted to be surprisingly enjoyable. It does feel anachronistic, in a way: this sort of comedy is completely out of fashion. This, paradoxically, made the movie feel refreshing to me. I sincerely recommend giving the movie a chance.
@@TheDominicProject The irony is insane here, as you complain about a critique and then try to slander me with the concept of owning Sandler and Schneider garbage. Did someone upset you because their opinions differ? Be careful going anywhere on the internet bud.
@@TheDominicProject when did I go off topic. Man people can disagree. And my comment wasn't rude. It was astute. It was dead on. It was my opinion. The critique you can't handle and are crying about on a nobodies youtube. What a hot take. Someone didn't like Jerry's special and thinks he's boring. I think the same of this guy. I think you are lost in all this. Is this guy your dad? Your lover? Your friend? Surely my random comment on this guy's page doesn't get you this boiled. Bro you have more passion in the comments than this guy did in his whole piss ass video.
SIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHH. I just LOVE kiddies who do movie reviews where the reviewer doesn't get ANY of the references. The only part of this that impressed me is how the HECK did you end up on my main you tube page. What with your whole 800 subscribers. Looks like your bobblehead collection has a bigger audience. Seinfeld didn't make this movie for you, Ben. He made it for people from his generation. You probable haven't heard of them. We're called baby boomers. We got ALL the references. I'd bet folding money that most of 'em LOVED this little flick as much as I did.
Anyone could get the references, they are all pop culture staples. The ideas in this movie are funny, the concept is funny, the actors are funny, but the humor just did not land.
I watched Seinfeld, thought it was very funny. I watched Jerry Seinfeld’s standup and other projects, the least funny thing I’ve ever seen. Then I watched curb your enthusiasm and understood why. Jerry Seinfeld fell ass backwards into a good show and has no talent otherwise. Also he dated his wife when he was 38 and she was 17 so fuck him lmao
Jerry making excuses by sating woke ruined comedy when Always Sunny has broken more boundaries in one season then the entire length of his show. The real ones like Bill Burr say f*ck em when cancellation is brought up
I agree, it’s a weird thing to say especially when Larry David’s show just ended and is consistently one of the funniest and most inappropriate shows on tv and has been for decades.
I mean I watched it when I was tired and didn't care just wanted the noise. It was kinda a spectacle just to see that a lot of money was being spent (on A-list salaries, nice sets, etc) for a whole lot of nothing to happen. You can tell a lot of people just heard "new Seinfeld movie" and agreed to be in it.
I said that I thought his quote was taken slightly out of context, and that I understood the larger point he was making, but that I found it to be an ironic quote considering his movie felt like it was made by committee.
Jerry was definitely funny. His comedic timing is perfectly utilized in his show. It can also be the case that David knew how to create the blueprint that worked best to Seinfeld’s sensibilities.
