We met with newcomer Michael 6 months ago. he was less than happy because he had found out that he was totally surrounded by rental units rather than full-time residence that he could make friends with.
Now he has had time to Settle in. how is he getting along? Has he made friends? Does he love his new home? Come and check out all his upgrades and hear him discuss his life now that he has been here a while.

My gosh you would never know this was the same guy! He is so happy, it's wonderful to see. He got involved with activities, neatly nested, and is understandably house proud. Just a feel good story. Probably the most organized closets I've ever seen. Wonderful follow up video. 😊

@jodib4445 I was not rude. I had an opinion. He doesn't even have artwork on the walls of the guest bedroom and I felt that those bedside lamps were too short to provide balance to the room. That's MY taste. He is outstanding at storage and organizing, though. I would certainly hope to always speak my mind, as long as it is NOT intended to hurt anyone's feelings.

I love The Villages. I am a tenant. I have a two-year lease and am adding another two years. My landlord is wonderful. My neighbors are great. We all have a great time.

I saw the first interview with Michael and have been wondering how he was doing. This was such a good update, especially seeing how happy he is. New flooring is beautiful. I can’t believe the sub-standard paint The Villages uses inside and out on their new homes. For that price, they should be using top of the line paint and finishes. Not the case. Farrow and Ball paint has lovely colors, but we have wonderful domestic paint brands, even the Behr brand is excellent. I’m very glad things have worked out for you, Michael. Terrific video, Jerry and Linda.

I remember this video, and I thought then till just about 10 seconds ago, that a "birdcage" was an actual birdcage that holds birds, you know a SMALL cage. So, they say if you learn something new every day, you'll live longer, this is my "learn" for the day Jerry and Linda. LOL A birdcage is in fact, meant to be other things then something you hold your Parrot in. tee heeee....Here in Central Illinois, I guess I would have called that an enclosed patio. Cute. I live nearby in Ocala. We call it a screened-in patio or screened-in pool. I don’t know where the birdcage term comes from. When I first heard it, I had no idea what it was.

We were told by people we know here that when we moved in we'd have a steady stream of neighbors knocking on our door to welcome us. Not one person did. We moved in a year after everyone else so we figured neighborhood friendships had already been established. So we decided that we would go around and shake hands. We also went daily to the pool, and attended every gathering we could think of. We've been here for 5 months now and we have friends and activities that keep us busy. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to people- people here want to meet you and befriend you.

I really enjoyed the tour of Michael’s home. It gives a much better perspective on the home than a floor plan or a static 3d tour. It is also helpful to see the improvements made to the original home. Please do more of these tours!

he did a fantastic job with his house. It helps when you have a lot of extra money from all the insurance premiums people have been paying which apparently much has gone to his salary. He even paid his house off in cash. I would not be so jealous but then i think of the huge insurance premiums i have and wonder how much i am making insurance agents wealthy . This is opening my eyes to what is happening here in florida.

Michael certainly has an eye for design and decorating. Based on so many positive comments, the villages should create a Topaz - Michael version with all the same upgrades. They could sell so many homes with this upgrade package. In round numbers, it would be nice to know the total cost of all the upgrades (or individually). Love your home.

OH I JUST LOVE what you did with the house. I have never seen some use a quartz for a back splash. What a GREAT idea! I have to renovate my kitchen and love this so much I might borrow the idea. Also love that extend the counter top on the island to make it more functional.

Love what he's done with the house! Richmond is the ONLY new neighborhood I would consider, due to its excellent location. Michael's closets are AMAZING! I would also love to have a world map of all the places we've visited - I have a space reserved for it in my "dream" Lantana home. I would love some garage cabinets like Michael's for my plug in countertop appliances. I also prefer the dark birdcage to the white one. I see that the door is not shut on the birdcage - Hope he didn't get any snakes in the lanai! Jerry, could you please reference your golf cart video where you recommend all the desired upgrades?

Sorry, I am a little behind in watching this week as I sold my house and moved this past week. Michael has done so much and so well. I appreciate him sharing his personal experiences in making friends especially living in a village with over 50% renters. Moving somewhere all alone is terrifying to me. I would love to come to Florida but can't see myself moving all the way from North Idaho south. On the other hand, getting 7 inches of snow this morning has me dreaming. Thankfully, I moved at the right time. Anyway, fun seeing all the improvements and as always getting his perspective. I hope you will followup with him again in the future. Thanks!
