All the fuss about leads, you'd think everyone worked at NASA. Get real FFS.. My Uni-T is just as accurate on resistance and voltage as my Fluke.

Its actually nothing to do with accuracy. PVC leads normally contain phthalates and lead-based compounds etc to improve flexibility. Phthalates & lead present potential health issues. Silicone leads are better as they're more flexible, more heat and burn resistant, more chemical and solvent resistant, and less sensitive to environmental temperatures etc.

Thank you for the great review, you really helped me make the right choice for my solar powered electronic needs. I sure wish this unit had some weather sealing but maybe I can do my own mod for that.

I find cleaning the probe tips with fine steel wool and alcohol improves the performance, and a better quality set of leads will improve the tip sensitivity greatly along with faster response on the continuity test audio. I just bought the UT210E version of this meter for $14.95 on ebay, hope its as accurate as your example though less features.

I love these little meters for everyday field use. I own about 5 of them, outfitting my personal tool kit and my tehnicians' go-bags. We save the Flukes for specific applications

Agreed Cletus.. I have a couple of them too & love them also 👍

I need a multimeter to repair electronics , only need for clump is to measure amps + 10A, does it justify buying this or am I better off buying a multimeter and the cheapest clamp in the market?
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 4 года назад
The Uni-t 211B is an excellent little clamp meter and multimeter for the price, its nice for electronics too being able to measure lower currents accurately with a 0.1mA resolution. I'm buying another one as soon as I can as I need a spare.

That looks like a very nice little clamp meter :-D You will find that it out performs its printed specifications, they usually do ;-D The 1000 ohm resistor, the adulent said 1000.1 ohms, the clamp said 1002. Two ohms in a thousand, not too bad for a budget meter, and if you take into account the lead resistance its lower than that. I bet your adulent isnt off, its leads and the connection from the resistor to sockets, i didnt notice if they were gold plated, that would have a little effect. Time for a cup of tea :-D

Hi Harvey, Thanks for talking the time to comment again on the re-uploaded vid my friend *thumbs up*. Yes my HP/Agilent/Keysight :) Is pretty much spot on, as far as I can check anyway against my 34465A. Not bad for 4 years and no cal. Enjoy your brew :) Cheers friend John

Thanks for the review. I need to measure down to 0.5mA. AC . Will this clamp meter go that low?
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
Geoff Zerna .. Hi. I didn't actually test for such low current readings via cabled connection, however with regards to testing for 5 microamps etc with the clamp, no! Accuracy would not be reliable. You would be far better off using a decent multimeter and a direct connection for accuracy here. Clamp meters are not very good when it comes to low curent readings and accuracy. I don't have this meter any more but, even if it could read such low values ( which reliably, it wouldn't) I'd still need need to confirm any reading it gave with a decent multimeter.

@@OrbiterElectronics it will do clamped .5 milliamps dc though with ease.

Similarly, I need to measure as low as 1mA current through the earthing wire to find faulty circuits and measure leakage currents as well. If this meter can measure down to 0.5 mA correct enough, it is more than enough for me?

John do u know in what types of cases meter can be damage? So hence we can beware from this.. Like wrong selection of rotary switch etc etc
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
Meters can be damaged in a number of ways, so you have to firstly read it's manual. Then be careful not to exceed it's specified limits e.g. overloading the mA range etc. Also don't do things like connect the meter to a power source with the range switch set to ohms! There are many stories of beginners trying to measure mains current by just setting their new meter to AC and putting the probes into a mains outlet socket. DON'T do that either :o.

John - Orbiter thanks again john... Actually its happen with me also the first day i set the switch on ohms and put the probe in socket but fortunately this meter was not damaged😊😊. Thank God it was just showing some numbers

You're lucky then :) ... Normally DMM's tend to fail catastrophically when hooked up to the mains with the wrong selector setting.
@RaviKumar-uy8ss
@RaviKumar-uy8ss 6 лет назад
John - Orbiter u right said john i was a duplicate meter and it was damaged due to wrong selector but i think this one has any safty thing
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
Yes.. Better quality meters will have input protection like HRC fuses and MOV's (metal oxide varistors) etc for overload protection.

How is the performans mA. measuring.

I actually cover this in the video and do a couple of comparisons on the mA range against my Keithley 2230-30-1. Please see video @13:59

Sir for calculating watts we multiply voltage and amps... Right? Like if v hv 220 volt and when we put load on it then the voltage will be reduce and remain like 200 volts. So now whom voltage we will take for multiplying with the amps? 220 or 200?
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
If a device is supplied with 220v and draws say 4A, then its power consumption is 880W. If the supply voltage is only 200v, then times that by the current draw, if that is the same 4A, then the power consumed will be 800W.
@RaviKumar-uy8ss
@RaviKumar-uy8ss 6 лет назад
John - Orbiter thanks John but my question was not tha. I said like voltage is 220v but whn we start a motor and after that if v check the voltage then it will be also reduced due to load and it wilk be around 200v now. Then if v hv 4 amps then to whom with v will calculate this? 220 or 200?
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
Hi. OK were talking AC?. Well instead of explaining, which I'll probably not do very well on this subject, you'll need to read up on AC Power Factor with regards to your question. Hope this helps.. goo.gl/Yuo7Vk

John - Printer thanks bro... But how do u measure? U chk voltage before the amps or after the amps? If u do that u will find the difference
@OrbiterElectronics
@OrbiterElectronics 6 лет назад
Ravi Kumar .. You would always need to know what the supply voltage was first, in your case 220v. then the 'Real Power' can be calculated using the equations in the previous link I sent.
