Glad they arent changing much. Every fg is trying to change so much and I just want a nice sequel that adds more then trying to do something different. Super excited for uni2

It is a little tough that Under Night is releasing the same week as Tekken 8, but man, I've been looking forward to playing Under Night on good netcode that your boy might just wait to get tekken 8 in the future. And I've been waiting for Kuon to be playable since god knows how long, so my hype for the game is exponentially higher because of it.

That release date is wild. While is true that the crossover between a Tekken game and a Anime game may not be that high, Tekken size as a product will overshadow UNI hard, that's just a fact. This seems to be a prevalent issue in the industry specially with Eastern games where they don't seem to take into consideration other games releasing into the same time and i think that hurts so much smaller projects, specially a more niche genre like fighting games.

I'm going to miss the anime scott pilgrim vibe of the old portraits, but the fact that we're even getting a new UNI is plenty for me. also "real guilty gear" nice

I'm really hoping this game has a fighting chance in the anime community. I always loved the designs of these characters so I'm gonna buy it day 1, but I'm not gonna lie Tekken is looking to be insanely satisfying

This is so sick I wish Majin would showm off every character like this I really wanna see what extra sauce Seth and Linne got.

I'm looking forward to playing this! Idk why so many devs chose to release games in January and February when those were usually the slow months

Regardless of the release date, This game has a Decade of history under its belt. I'll be supporting it along with many others and I'm positive the devs will take notice. They didn't even think Type lumina would do as good as it did and so they gave us free DLC. I'm sure we'll surpass whatever expectations they have by just spreading the word, and now that it has rollback that'll bring back players that enjoyed the series but just couldn't handle bad connections. Tekken 8 being a day after is pretty unfortunate but it's not the first time Uni been in the dark. Just gotta make Uni content! and get people to try our game!

Thanks for uploading this. To hopefully clarify what you mentioned about her j.B and j.2C, the game has crossup protection, so those moves would likely be able to be blocked either direction if they connect on the side opposite from where Kaguya jumped. Appreciate hearing your thoughts as always

just last night i stayed up to 5 AM running a 64 game set with a friend. i've been playing UNI since EL. i love this game and I will be dogging ppl to give it a chance whether that's locally, with the discord goblins, on twitter, whichever else. release date isnt ideal but its like that. i'm here to play mika and spread the good word of 5[C]wA

Agree with the UI, not as interesting, The portraits though, I like them a lot. They look like the BBCF ones and I dig that style. I'm excited, definetly my game for January but I need the price. Hopefully is a good conversion for my region, FB and ArcSys had been good in that department.

Really hoping the online systems in this game work better than launch Type Lumina. UNI is a game I've really wanted to get into for years so it would be huge if it just works properly.

Been wanting UNI to have playable netcode for a good while now so UNI 2 will definitely have most of my focus when it comes out. I'm also really happy that my girl Eltnum made it back. Kaguya's looking real nice too though, I will probably play them both to start with.

I’m getting it regardless. And I’m definitely trying this character out. I am one of those Noel players you speak of. 😉 I didn’t play much Uni back then other than a few matches unfortunately. The characters I was learning when I played were Eltnum, Linne, and Merkava. Idk I just liked how weird Merkava looked or something. Lol Also, I liked his theme song. I remember having trouble finding matches and seeing a lobby that said “4F or kick” and that was the only lobby available that I could see. I didn’t get kicked but other people were definitely getting booted lol. That was my last memory playing the game. Hopefully, the online is good enough this time around. I thought the last game was fun so I imagine this one will be too.

i was ready to hop on uniclr but the lack of rollback was brutal so i am glad we are getting uni2- A sick character like Kaguya is icing on the cake

Tbh regarding the release date I would 100% go for uni instead of T8 if I had to choose one the main reasoning behind this is knowing how big T8 is that game will be around waaay after release for years to come (most likely) while uni it's sad to say but I doubt it'll stay active after the first few months of it's release (a miracle if still active within a month) not to say it doesn't has a community but I'm referring towards the online activity of the game. So unless ur a pro player and want to enjoy both games and can only get one? go for uni first.

I'm looking forward to this game as well. And Kaguya looks like she could be fun but also a bit of a menace to fight against. Though I find it funny that not only is UNI2 coming out in such a packed week, but Apollo Justice Trilogy is releasing on the same day too. So it is going to be a rough launch day for UNI2 when T8 is there as well. I am also wondering who the 3 DLC characters will be for this game...

Man said real Guilty lol But really, this is basically just a new season of characters and a systems update for me. Recently came to terms with being a puppet player, but Kaguya definitely looks sick. Just hoping the netcode is decent and then it's smooth sailing for this community.

yeah the release window is the most unfortunate part for uni2, im sure the game will still have its dedicated community but getting new eyes on the it may be a bit of a struggle

Competitively, my hands are tied with T8 alone, but I'll definitely get this to support. Can't wait to pick my Marvel and SNK colors in Uni though, lol.

Aside from the awful release week Im looking forward to finally being able to get into this series outside of just training mode and combo trails thanks to the netcode because this has always been one of the coolest games I havent really been able to play. Kaguya definitely looks like a character im gonna be interested in playing.

Looks good! I played and enjoyed UNIST for a few months right before the pandemic hit (and my local game center closed 💀), so I’d love to give it a second chance, esp with rollback. Kaguya looks like she could he my type. I wanted to play Yuzu but my execution is too wack, so maybe I’ll give her a try.

I'm hoping there's a subset of uni players at my locals, I haven't been there since like halfway through s1 of strive just because of time commitments and not really being interested in any of the FGs people were playing. If there's a large enough group playing and the massive tekken scene not overshadowing it this might get me back to engaging with my local community. Or I just mash buttons with friends and do combo trials, I like the sound of that too. Either way I'm hype for this game, super unfortunate with the tekken 8 release date

Played it when there was the little resurgence it got when it was announced for evo and I enjoyed the game. I was looking forward to playing this game with rollback, but it's really unfortunate that it's releasing at the same time as Tekken 8 because I'm much more invested in Tekken than I am in Uni. Didn't even know about that until this video, most unfortunate timeline.

I never got to really put in a lot of time with UNIST but it was a game up my alley held back by netcode tbh. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game and sink my teeth into it. Hopefully QOL updates to the PC port as well. I was only interested in linne in the last version but kaguya is definitely a newcomer that looks like some I’d like.

This character looks super fun and ratio always delivers some of the best music in FGs. Not just Tekken 8 but also Granblue Fantasy Relink and Persona 3 Reload are going to be some tough competition. Even if the launch isn't huge I think this game will get bigger with some time, it actually seems to have a season pass this time, which I think is a first for a French Bread game? The Melty Blood Type Lumina DLC was actually free so I do wonder how this is going to go. I'm sure the season pass will be cheaper than getting the ninja turtles in SF6 haha.

I'm hyped for the game, but there's definitely a lot to worry about. Not only it looks like a full-priced expansion releasing alongside Tekken 8, but also Arc System has given up on regional pricing recently, and there's no crossplay? It's a pretty tough sell unless you're already specifically interested in Under Night or they go with a $30 price point.

I haven't taken a proper look at the rest of the portrait art, but I do not like Yuzuriha's new one. I also agree that I'm not a fan of a lot of the UI changes, I think they're more plain and boring compared to what we used to have. Finally, the Kaguya reaction video the lazy UNI community needed /s I agree with you almost wholeheartedly on everything in the video. I don’t like the updated art style and UI: it’s very BBTag-ish to me and feels like a small step away from the game’s original identity even if I don’t find it a dealbreaker. I get your point about the release date but having been waist deep in the community before, I think we’re all just kind of used to this by now. It’s a shame but I’m confident that the scene will put this game on its back once again. Lastly, I get why the feeling a lot of people have is ‘this is just an update’ but under the hood there are several mechanics changes (the roll, changes that should weaken OSes, Veil Off being redesigned, the new ‘Celestial bonus’) that are going to redefine how this game is played at high level. Look forward to it!

I can definitely see playing this instead of Tekken 8 for a couple of months at least, given the latter's orientation toward rushdown. Tekken's defense helped me not to miss Virtua Fighter so much, and it looks like Tekken 8 has taken cues from NRS games.

I'm hype for this game and Tekken 8, but they did themselves dirty with the release date and that character select ui change... still hype and excited to see my homies become kaguya mains. Going to enjoy playing this new under night with all the updates.

Even though it seems like more of an update than a sequel, I'm still into it. UNI is already one of my top fighting games, so I'm not exactly against just getting more of it. But man, that release date is killing me. It's like they want it to die.

I am agree actually. The release date - strange choice. It looks like its a Guilty Gear sign - xrd case too. I am personally would like if the game and trailer has more visual impact by itself. Also beta would be good. But no beta for some reason. I just hope they make a proper work on their netcode and servers so it wouldnt be another disaster like MBTL launch.
