Another watchtower tip I found out about from another video, is using the provoke skill on the tower guards. It will pull them from the towers.

I didn't realize that worked! I hadn't even tried it since the skill notes that it doesn't work on garrisoned enemies, but I guess watchtowers aren't considered garrisoned. Nice!

Good tips. I'd second the wind faerie charm. You'll notice as you get deeper into the game.and optimize your units/gambits/teams, triple enemy assists will be whats killing your units, especially any squishies. My top 5 tips: 1. expand squad size asap. number of squads isnt as important as number of units per squad. You'll only need about 3-4 squads for most of the game as the game rarely gives you more than 3-4 starting valor. 2. Promote units who are members of your squads. Dont bother wasting honor promoting bench/situational units (like Lex and Hodrick) until you have a 4 5-man squads of all promoted units. 3. Vitalize/vital absorb is a great valor skill for pushing with your main team, especially one thats lead by alain or gilbert. 4. Dodge tanks>guard tanks. Or better have a dodge tank then a guard tank in the bank to soak up arrow hits on the dodge tanks. 5. find your nukers and build around them once you hit mid-game. Bruno/gladiators are maligned early on but once they hit level 30, they have a no-charge board nuke. Same with the elven princess sisters and the snow ranger. Some weapons can also provide board nukes typically on spears, bows and staves.

I hadn't even thought of using a guard tank to protect a dodge tank. That sounds super useful! I'm guessing that unit can tank just about anything.

@@89Games yup. It covers all bases. I'll give an example. My current flight team (team assigned to take out targets hiding behind mines/rivers/barricades): 1. celeste/fran-gryphon master: lead, dodge tank. Shes there to get the leadership skill and for mobility (fast travel to get to high prio targets) + dodge tanking in front. 2. travis/gammel-rogue: dodge tank, utility. Hes there to dodge tank and to steal enemy AP/PP while giving the team a good start of battle passive (sneaking edge) to hit problem units like wereowls or angels. thats my frontline. My backline is all-cavalry to deal alot of dmg and improve mobility. 3 and 4: 2 strikers from great knights clive/adel/jerome/renault. They buff each other with cav call and strike down enemies with wild rush, assaulting lance and knight's pursuit. Big dmg. 5. monica/miriam: sainted knight- the 3rd cav on the backline. Shes a hybrid striker/guard tank/healer. she gets buffed by the great knights so her dmg is solid. Then she handles all the weakness of the dodge tanks: a. If the backline gets hit by magic, she does row barrier. b. She heals chip/assist dmg via row heal. c. in case my dodge tanks are attacked by archers, i gave her those cover shields so she'll jump to the front and block arrow attacks on my dodge tanks. So yeah the dodge tanks rarely die outside of assists and most of the time she gets to heal them before they get into trouble. The only other problem of dodge tanks aside from archers are swordmasters. so if i wanted to i could set another entry of cover to: Front row, attacked by infantry. Or front row, hp

@@TheRobversion1 nice! I'm collecting ideas for a true zenoiran challenge run to do on stream so this will help. I'm thinking no recruitables and limit to no more than 5 units. So I'll have to use all hired mercs.

@@89Games my current run is no hallowed corne ash, no recruits (uniques only) and fake true zenoiran (i dont let anyone die. i've got other ideas i can share in separate vids. I'm 3/4 of the way done i bet. I'm almost done with bastorias and i already got amalia from the coliseum. So just gran corrine, albion and the remaining ranked fights in the coliseum left. To give an idea of the teams i'm running aside from the flight team i mentioned: 1. main push team- alain lead, hilda, berengaria, galadmir, yahna 2. heal assist team- etolinde lead, scarlett, sharon (thinking of subbing her out. I dont find clerics/bishops useful at this point), fran, travis. 3. Archer assist team- ridiel lead, rolf, mandrin, yunafi, liza 4. magic assist team- rosalinde lead, auch, lhinagos, melisandre, leah

Just about finished with the game on expert and I can't stress enough how important items are. Do not hoard them! You can buy just about at some point in the game and there are multiple ways of getting around things. Use your items!

Sure thing! I actually just rearranged all the units and characters I've been using and intermixing the lower level characters seems to be working rather well.
