I can't believe that I've just finished, literaly just, your other videos and this becomes available. Well done Ed a remarkable achievment. (P.S. We were down near Street last weekend but I didn't spot you otherwise I would have said hello).
@@pavankharche7014 cop asked do u have pants? Not underpants...not underwear...Pants! Btw American cops can be very inquisitive...Ed u are white...lucky you. Opposite of China
Gbenro Oduyela As someone from the states, it doesn't surprise me one bit Ed only got a citation here throughout his whole trip around the world. Being treated to photos with other military and police presence and here "just a written warning" lol
This journey may be over, but I've got a feeling we haven't seen the last of Ed. Also, why hasn't there been more exposure from the media about his astounding achievement? A guy was on the news the other day for traveling 1000miles on a regular bike, I just thought 'so what!'. Try going 22 times further with a wheel missing and I'll look up. Ed, you're one of a kind mate.
There should still be an episode of his last few miles to get back to his home in England because he DID ride all the way back to his house where he started.
It was all over the news, just it happened a long time ago (3-2 years) so the media has covered it. Edit: I didn’t read the comments somebody has already explained this.
@@japorah Elijah LeJander is one of Ed's supporters on patreon and if you go into the comments of the entire Ed Unicycles the US series, someone is always commenting on his name and how he's their favorite patreon just because of his name, the way Ed says his name etc..
Ed. Mate, do not fall for the ‘next challenge’ version of what you have achieved. You are a genius interviewer and storyteller. You are at your best when you prod and listen. Do that thing. Love what you do, mate.
Good advice! I loved the interview with Will (Super Cycling Man) over the cold, rubbery chicken foot. 😂😂😂 What a great interview technique. Reminds me of Hot Ones. 🎉
You are a man among men. You started this tremendous venture as a young boy looking a little like a rabbit in the headlights and finished several years later as a gentleman of great determination, perserverance and epic character. Bravo Ed. You pulled off a biggy and in the process showed the world the value of a brilliant sense of humor and how it can alter bad events and transform situations for the better. I tip my hat to you Mr. Edward Pratt.
Isn't collecting sand from around the world or certain beaches illegal? I always wanted to collect sand until i read about the damage it does every year to beaches.
You are amazing Ed so inspirational for my son, Sebastian. He is 13 and loves your videos. You teach him resilience, kindness, openheartedness and courage. We lost Seb’s dad from MND 16 months ago and you are a positive role model for him. So thank you for doing something adventurous and out of the box for him to aspire to. Living without fear or boundaries is something we can all learn from you. Thank you
I tripped across your videos since your China crossing 3 years ago. I've been hugely impressed with your effort, endurance, and film making. I'm happily a pattern supporter. You're doing nothing but good. Huge respect Ed. 👏
Just wanted to say that I've loved every single episode that I've watched from your world unicycling tour, Ed! It's a shame this is the finale, but I am positive that it won't be the last time I see you online. All the best with your future endeavours, keep up the good stuff :)
Feel so lucky to have met you in person cycling on tour, this whole series really reminded me of my cycle across the USA too. Really made me emotional about it all. This work of yours is truly phenomenal and you should be so proud of it, I truly hope you get more recognition here in the UK and it opens up more opportunities for you, you've hit a real niche with this and you're naturally a very good presenter. I hope after this is all done we get to see you again taking on more projects. Lastly, just thank you, for all your time and effort. It's been absolutely amazing watching every single video.
I can't wait to see whats next for you Ed. I don't care the content, just want to see more of your amazing strength and perseverance in anything you do! Good luck with your life mate i hope you continue to do great things!
I know my comment might get lost in all the others but this story has been just a journey for you and me. It crazy to think back to about 17 weeks ago I stumbled onto the 3rd video of the series and feeling quite sad when I found out it’s a weekly upload. But to think back and how my crazy life keeps going up and down and not always going the way I wanted these videos we’re almost a time check and reward for making it through the tough weeks. I got dumped by a girl, failed one too many history tests go to Florida for Christmas and visit my dream colleges. Ed you are an inspiration to me and every one who’s watched the series it’s a bittersweet moment for me as the series is ending but I can’t wait to see what’s next. Sincerely you’re friend Declan Carey
Also this was pretty cool I was just here for Route 66 but I went back it was pretty amazing seeing random people that are nice and kind that you just don’t see everyday and the different parts of America that people don’t get to see like modern cowboys ,surfers , and farmers it was just a really cool trip to see
I can relate to the traffic light issue. Cycling through cities can be awful on a regular touring bike for that reason - I can only imagine how tiring it must be with your "mounting procedure".
I've just binged watched the entire round the world trip. I know it ended over a year ago but I'm slightly gutted that it's just come to an end for me! 😩
Philly resident here--enjoyed seeing the city through your eyes, and given our insane traffic you ABSOLUTELY made the right call detouring around it...
im proud to live somewhere that someone who has been across the world says is the most generous place hes ever been! makes me feel proud to live somewhere that helps all and asks for nothing in return.
@@EdPratt Fuck it. Stay tuned for my Cape Froward to Visviri 3514 mile treck, coming in the next decade or as soon as there's nothing holding me in Santiago.
@@ryanv1279 in some countries it may be better to do it east-west or west-east. It just so happens that Chile is practically a vertical line on a map. In the lower 48 it should be between West Quoddy Head Light, near Lubec, ME, and Cape Alava in Clallam County, WA.
Officer: "do you have any pants in there" Ed: "these are my pant's, I'm British" for those that don't know the Brit word for "underpants" is just "pants" they should have asked for trousers!!! I don't think the officers got the joke..... lol
No, they shouldn't have asked for trousers because they were performing their duties in the USA and using American English. How arrogant of you to require that LE should modify their language to meet the individual's specific cultural background they're addressing, something that's COMPLETELY UNKNOWN to them when first encountering Ed. And even if after learning he's British, it is not incumbent upon them to suddenly become familiar with British vernacular. It's as if expecting LE to understand and converse in a suspect's foreign tongue when addressing an unknown person. When I spent time abroad, not once would I have expected law enforcement to address me in English. That would be incredibly arrogant (and so typically American). And the one time I was stopped by local police, I spoke to them in their language and expected no special accommodation. No, it would be Ed who should have known the local vernacular. Plus, it was BLATANTLY OBVIOUS what the ranger was requesting: wear more than just your underwear, sir! PS I spent three years in the UK, so please spare me the lecture on all things British. Cheers!
I have loved the videos of your journey. I can only imagine the panic on your mother's face when you first told her of your plans to do this ride. I am so glad, especially for her sake, that you were blessed with safety. I'm also glad for those of us that have really enjoyed watching and cheering you on. God bless in all your future endeavors.
Please be aware that in many many places it is illegal ( with many $$ fines ) to be taking sand. You might think, "whats the harm with a little sand"? Well some of those jars had a couple good handfulls in them. Now imagine 100...1000...10,000...100,000...a million handfulls all disappearing from one beach, the ONLY beach with pink sand made from an extinct coral reef found only there, nowhere else in all of the universe. Then, its gone. No one ever gets to experience it ever again. This is not a fantasy, it has already happened here on our planet. Please enjoy Earth but take home memories and photographs, not OUR heritage.
@@patricksanders858 It is impossible for talking sand from beach or desert once a year to do any effect to that desert or beach, and remember wind takes 192 million tones yearly from desert, and that sand fall again in another desert, cities, mountains, rivers, or ocean, so how much a handful of sand will affect? Moreover I'm thinking about taking it only from my different locations of my country, not from the whole world, as you have said it might be illegal across countries www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/a14279/sahara-amazon-sand-ocean/
Ed, I am really curious about your leg muscles development over the course of the entire tour, not just the USA. Did you see any improvements? aside from, perhaps, endurance based.
leg muscles does not help cyclers, thats why you see professional cyclers having less to none leg muscle at all, the muscles are just added weight, which they avoid.
Can't thumbs up this enough! Thank you Ed so much for sharing your adventures. It would be amazing to ride with you some day. There are some great parts of the US you missed out on (understandably). Come to Colorado and Southern Utah! Here in Durango, CO there is a great race called the Iron Horse Classic where we race an old steam locomotive over 2 mountain passes to Silverton, CO and one guy does it on his unicycle same size as yours every year! 6000 ft of climbing, 50 miles and the most gorgeous views I have found in America. You can stay at our place!
Wonderful content, just wonderful. This is proof, how glad we can be about modern internet and video technology, giving everybody the opportunity to show their sick adventures to us all in astonishing clarity. I have been watching single videos on RU-vid for many years. This is the first actual series I am following with total excitement. I would really enjoy meeting Ed one day.
Glad you met the people in America who show you the true American spirit of generosity, happiness, and the drive to succeed in everything we do together. Thanks for the adventure! :D Can't wait to see it through to the end.
Congratulations Ed, what a great series you have put together. I know its been a while since you finished the trip but since ive never congratulated you on that either, congrats man. We're about the same age and i cant imagine doing anything as big as you have done, ever. All the best. ps. I really hope you wont stop filmmaking after the uk series end. You are so good.
Wow what an ending. I had no idea who you were a few months ago when youtube recommended one of your videos to me. I'm so glad I clicked on it! I haven't missed an episode since. It's a little sad to see the end of this series but I enjoyed every second of it. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your future adventures! God Bless you Ed Pratt
Thank you Ed for an amazing experience shared. It’s been entertaining, informative and filled with adventure. All the best for the future, as they say , thanks for the ride!
Ed I can’t believe your journey across America is over. You have made me change the way I see others and be more open to them. When I turn 18 I plan on joining the military because I want to help people. You helped me make me happy when I feel down and you are just a nice person. Thx so much for helping me
I am ex military and I would suggest that you think about your life choice. You do not help people when you join the military, you KILL them. It is very rare that you will actually help people, especially those in your Country.
Oh Ed, this is so sad, the end of this wonderful series. I watched ALL of your videos from the beginning when you first left the UK to now the end in the US. I'm going to miss this adventure! I don't ride a unicycle (don't even know how) but I am a cyclist or more of a bike commuter since 1996. My dream has always been to cycle around the world. But at 58 years old is becoming more and more a dream that will never become reality. You are such a cool lad. I hope you decide to do another adventure (Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, anyone?). Of course, wait for the coronavirus crisis to pass. Great job, great adventure, Ed!
It's been a long time since I had tears in my eyes, this last Video of your tour left me with happiness and sadness at the same time. It's like my left eye is crying tears of joy, and my right eye tears of sadness. Never the less, I enjoyed and loved every single second of your trip. Thx for sharing, and who knows maybe you allready planning on your next trip. Greedy me, can't get enough of your content. Much love and blessings from Germany to you Ed.
What do you want them to do? They checked in to make sure everything was ok and gave him a warning. No ticket. If they just let everyone camp in the no camping zones then that can easily muck up the parks badly
What? He gave him a warning lol. It's literally their job to keep the parks clean, otherwise you have a bunch of unsavory people camping in areas that are supposed to be welcoming for guests. Also, not sure refusing to show them ID is the best option, but you do you man...
I shed a tear watching this. Ed, you are an incredible story teller and make me feel as if I am along for the ride. I hope I get me meet you some day. You truly inspire me.
@Pete is never wrong You're probably not the best person to judge how you sound since we all don't think we sound like a recording of ourselves, ask a friends opinion on whether you sound like your parents.
I never doubted that America would treat you well Ed. Your story is amazing! Your heart and soul of kindness is immediately obvious to all who met you, and Americans for the most part have huge hearts, especially for those who are working for a good cause! I hope life is treating you kind during this crazy year of 2020! God Bless you!
It's funny how the entire planet laughs at American authorities, considering the majority are painted with the same brush and have huge hang ups. Hahaha, how does anyone show them any respect?
I can't believe you were in Edison, NJ! That's very close to me. Those dangerous roads and power lines are classic New Jersey.👌🏼I'm glad you made it safe and sound. Rock on, Ed! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So proud of you. Your journey reminds me that where there's will there's a way.
Congratulations sir ed you made it...stay safe and GOD bless...you are forever be a legend...what you did out there is truly life and death situation...but this is the nice part you will surely change people's life and thank you for generous guy he will be forever remembered...thank you sir ed
I dont even know how to ride a Unicycle but watch all your videos since finding your channel by chance a few days ago. You are a true adventurer and an inspiration to many. Congratulation on being the only person in the world to complete Unicycling around the World.
