I would like you guys had showed the "engine heater" slot. I get a lot of questions why that strange thing is on the front of the 404 and why there is a lit on there. I already knew the heater core of the "funck koffer" would fit there but I never saw the unit, so I learned something today also. I have used a heat gun in the slot to heat up the engine during winter and that also works some sort of. I now know the heat gun can be a little bit hotter to get faster effect! So in stead of 150 degrees I will put it on the full 600 next time.
I would have loved to show how the engine heater tube works, but unfortunately it was removed from our Unimogs in an earlier stage when they got the rebuild M180 engines. and mine had also collapsed on the inside due to frost at some point in it's life. Fortunately the winters here aren't that cold so we won't realy miss it.
During my military-time (1974) it was forbidden to use this „ schwingfeuer-heaters“, cause there are a lot of problems with carbon monoxide. Always cold in wintertime.😂
yea i can imagine XD if they're not installed correctly or malfunction it's the last heat you'll feel and fall asleep to. i always make sure turn it off before going to bed/sleep. also a co alarm is installed in the mog.
Hi, I have a unimog 404 radio truck with one of these. I'm missing the cable to connect power to this unit. I'm also looking for parts to repair the portable 24v generator (bosch) that came with the unit. Thank-you
Hallo, the parts for the cable can be found in some automotive and electronics shops. i think its called a Din stekker or Din connector. for the generator i unfortunately don't know where to get those part. would love to own a original 24v generator tho, they are pretty hard to find.
Its indeed a standard automotive or boat related DIN plug, positive in middle, ground outer connection. Ebay or our Marktplaats with term " Sachs " and " Eiseman" will find these generators which help starting the engine and powering the whole transmitter part of the " funkkoffer ".
Tom it is just hot 🔥 air, where is the fuel supply held? Second question does it have a hydronic coolant hose to engine, this is quite different than what I work on in 🇺🇸 webasto boilers. Take care brother.
The heater exchange box takes the cold air from outside and heats it via the hot exhaust gasses and radiant heat coming from the pulsjet. the swingfeuer (pulsjet) has it's own gas-tank that fits approximately 5l gasoline. it's all completely stand-alone, and can also be used to pre-heat the engine or heat a tent etc. for pre-heating the engine there is a spacial tube it slides in underneath the radiator. it's indeed very different from the webasto systems, also a lot more dangerous than those systems. the potential for CO and fire are way more prominent. not even talking about the absolute unit of noise this thing produces. Dag Tom, mijn originele bougiedopje/kapje is totaal afgebroken van de Schwingfeuer. Weet jij een adres waar de originele te koop zijn of moet ik een tweede handse Schwingfeuer kopen? Thanks!
Hallo, ik weet niet waar jde orginele nog te koop zijn. maar wellicht kunt u eens kijken bij een brommer of tuinmachine handelaar. uiteraard niet orgineel, maar die hebben mischien wel de goede maat.
Hi Tom, mijn schwingfeuer zelf loopt perfect en gloeit ook goed. Maar als tie is aangesloten/ingeschoven op de "turbo-fan" (op het dak) dan komt er niet echt veel warme lucht uit. De uitlaatpijp wordt wel verschrikkelijk warm. Wat kan de oorzaak zijn? Ventilator aan uiteinde "turbo-fan" draait wel mooi rond.
Ik neem aand dat je de klep in de koffer/unit open hebt staan? (Klep aan voorkant tegen plafond) Meestal duurt het eventjes voordat ie warm word, maar er zou binnen een aantal minuten warme en daarna hete lucht moeten stromen.
Hallo, ik weet helaas geen winkel zo te noemen. maar welicht kun je het eens proberen op de duitse E-bay, daar staan vaker wel meer onderdelen te koop.
@@ArmyTruckTom Gaat mij vooral om de membraam in de mengkamer. Zo ook vind ik het raar als ik de het lipje helemaal op plus draai dat er dan toch nog een opening zit tussen de 2 "ronde platen met gaten" waar de membraam tussen zit.
