I hope this helps people who might be struggling to remove this driver. The .inf file name was cdc-acm.inf which is what your looking to remove in Device Manager.
I can’t thank you enough! I spent many more hours than I would like to admit trying to fix this. Because of your proper explanation of the file name and where to find it, my PC is running correctly for the first time since January of last year!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I NEVER would have been able to figure this out in a thousand years. Here is a little more info that might be helpful: I did find it in the file repository, although it stated that I would need administrator authorization to remove it (even though I AM the administrator I was not allowed to remove it). Your video showed me the solution, and in my case it was under oem51 & per your instructions did allow me to remove the driver. And it worked!! HURRAY!! Thank you so much for your time, energy & expertise spent in solving this! Thanks from across the pond in the USA! (You Brits are GREAT!!)
Please watch the video again. It isn't a .sys file it's a .inf file. Please note that the latest versions of Windows 11 are no longer affected by this problem.
Oh boy. I'm sure this is really good. But, I'm having trouble accessing the cdc-acm.inf I can't find it. When you were in Windows\system32, you said click on driver "stuff" I think. Can you be more specific? Thanks so much
Sorry for the late reply, sadly I don't think I could be more specific as my video is essentially a walk-through guide. I can only assume that if the file isn't where it's supposed to be, then maybe there is a variation in your OS. I'm really sorry I couldn't offer more to help you 🤔
