I grew up watching this (I was born in 1976), this made me cry as it reminded me of my childhood. I was able to visit a UP yard with my dad back then when I was 4 or 5 years old and was able to be in the cab of one of the retired U50C's (UP 5037 to be exact). Ever since that day, I've loved the U50C; it's part of my history.
"million miles of history a shining in the sun" this made me cry so much, I was born in 1976, and this was the commercial that I remember the most when I think of my childhood. I too have travelled millions of miles, so I can say "I have a million miles of history, a shining in the sun".

your wrong. all of the 4000 class big boys were scrapped except for 8. numbers 4023, 4004, 4005 (involved in a crash) 4006, 4014 (running) 4017, 4018, and 4012.
