Sitting of a busy road sits this very unique looking abandoned mansion. Sitting on 2 acres of prime real estate, the property is valued at $1.3 million dollars, the home on the other hand is worth nothing and would need to be demolished when purchased. Once inside this home you quickly find out how bad the mold is inside, all because of the indoor pool that still has water in it! The home, that is only 2 levels seems to be built around the pool, an interesting choice!

I hate modern houses and the sterility of them. No warmth or coziness. The pool was nice once upon a time, but again, the room it's in is nothing but blank cement. Yuck. Nice job on the explore though, as always. Thank you Noah. NY Nana

Fun to see this one in the daylight. When Armageddon happens: along with the cockroaches and feral cats there will be chirping smoke detectors. Ah those lovely indoor pools. There is actually one neat me in a home th southern Virginia. Love to see how they handle that down here. Thanks for sharing. ❤️ PS Your video of the mold is prob the best.

The construction of that house didn't look very good to my eye (my father was a carpenter). The paneling - yeah, probably 60's/70's time frame. I'm so glad you were smart and wore a mask and gloves. Otherwise, I'd say stear clear of that one. No pool in a house for me, that's for sure. lol

One time, back in early 90's, we were "down the shore" (if you know what it means, you know) and we met these girls on the beach. They said they were having a party that night and told us to stop by and they gave us the address. The house wasn't on the beach but in a development right by the bay. They houses were not mansions but they looked like average middle class homes. A lot of them were summer homes since it was at the shore. We get to the address and it's a moderate sized rancher 1-story house. nothing on the outside to indicate anything unusual. THere was a nice party going on so my friends and I went inside and once we were inside most of the people were towards the back of the house. We head that way and I heard splashing and sure enough, in the middle of this house was a pool. It wasn't a screened in type of pool, but it was actually inside the house like next to the living room. The whole room was nautical themed and looked like a movie set. We didn't bring our bathing suits, but it was summer and we had shorts. at some point, after many beers, we all ended up in the pool. It was a crazy night.

I believe the house was unsympathetically remodeled at some point; although I doubt it is vintage, the bones bear all the hallmarks of the International Style, first made popular in the 1920s and 30s; usually characterized by flat roofs, pilotis (the round columns for support), the main living area raised up on these, and lack of ornamentation. Le Courbusier’s Villa Savoye is probably the most famous example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Savoye As far as resale? I woulld guess it has much less to do with an unpopular design (International has been making a comeback for a while), but more to do with the proximity to the highway - when did that go in? I don’t imagine anyone would have chosen that as a construction site - it’s nice piece of land that you could never fully enjoy with the constant traffic noise. I imagine when first built there was no wood on the walls at all - just pristine plaster from floor to ceiling - it would have been impressive with the right pops of color from art & furniture. This just makes me sad; but another exceptional explore, Noah - thank you.

There’s a very good & logical reason why that place is condemned- NOT “abandoned”. While it was interesting to see inside it, it was NOT worth the health risks you are subjecting yourself to for the long term, debilitating issues that will take time to emerge. The more you go into places like these without more than those little dust masks you wear the more damage you are doing- the only question is to what extent will it effect you when it emerged later. I genuinely pray for all urban explorers to use rational judgment bc i get the attraction to urban exploration, but I’ve seen & experienced what being exposed to black mold does to a person long term. It’s not pretty.

Carlo Paolozza did an adventure on this very house. Someone who knows the family did comment on his video saying that a pipe burst causing all the mold throughout the house. How true it is, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the pool itself contributed to the mold as well.

I don’t believe that this was a private home. The design and layout of this building suggests and points to that of a facility of some kind like a private rehab center or program was held here for people of different ages. Probably a non profit organization that lost its funding at some point.

When he showed the ceiling above the pool. I feel like I learned watching Holmes on Homes that there needs to be a ventilated area at the peck of your house and the reason for those roof vents you see on roofs. Like areas in attics don't often have insulation or much as to regulate and vent off any warm wet air. Because the very top of the house is the peck above the pool and it's insulated with no clear ventilation, I feel the wet air has no where else to go but into the house. It looks like who ever designed this house knew the concept of ventilation and that's why it's nice and open above the pool. Maybe there was some communication issues and the builder was stupid and insulated the ceiling above the pool anyway or tried to save money by not adding some kind of ventilation. I don't know. I'm definitely not an expert in this, just an observation. If there's anyone with real building knowledge please help me out or tell me where I'm wrong lol.

When I see so many empty houses and know there are so many homeless , I wish we could help communities take some of these houses and have people live in them for a reduced rate with the expectation of property improvement while they live there. I think a lot of families would love an opportunity to do this. I know there are places in Italy where they do this but the property needs a lot.

NO flat rooftops in North America (water sits and drains INTO the top floor and walls, rather than running off and mold develops. Yech! And the weird growth in the closet LOOKS as if they had an infestation of red spider mites or spiders...is there a dead animal up there? The garage: it looks as if they were in a flood zone that took a long time to drain, OR they are a property that was built on TOP of a graveyard the bodies were not removed from before the home was built. EEWWWW!

You need very specific building materials to have an indoor pool like that. Pool also has to be heated causing even more humidity. I guarantee they had to move because of mold problems. The other obvious thing is the effects of chlorine byproducts wafting above the pool. Even if it wasn’t strong, chlorine causes all sorts of lung problems. Between the mold and the chlorine the whole family probably has lung problems or they’re dead 😳

Yikes. Did anyone else notice the chain lock on the outside of the girls room!?!?Flat roof and no drainage/gutters, wood paneling in/out, plus the pool made this house a petri dish for mold. The owners probably made this home and quickly found out that they had to vacate asap due to the toxic mold. There would be no way to control the moisture/humidity at that level.

This is a very depressing place. It seems to have an aura of failure and sadness over it. Bad, bad Feng Shui here. The way it's built funnels the moisture up to the living areas and when I saw the drone footage I thought that the land was too damp to build on. When you give the introduction toads can be heard from the woods. I bet there's a lot of ponds or a creek or two around there. It's like they built this house to be a moisture wick. Like the video but hate the house.

I think this house would’ve kept longer if the pool had been pumped empty before the owners left. And I would also bet that the waterproofing and moisture barriers were either installed incorrectly or not at all.

Awful home - someone didn't know what they were doing. Loomd like owners divorced based on the one message you read. Sad.

My question is why hasn't all the water evaporated from the pool over the years? Also, you would think it would have been drained once everyone moved out

Too bad that you have no historical records about who owned the house and why it was abandoned. I am glad that you wore gloves, that place is nasty. I am glad that you did not fall into that nasty swimming pool.

Looks like someone who did not really build and just went amuck piece by piece. I never would call it a mansion for sure. We had an indoor pooland sauna in the bottom of the lower level and never had a drop of mold anywhere. but we did live in it. ut it was and has to be properly vented .

Noah, what we learn is to separate the pool from the house and at least give it ventilation its like if the owner peeled back the roof from above the pool this house would have been saved. those toys and adult shoes bedroom is weird. i say the owner was jGym unkie and the drugs got the better of them now they are in prison or worse. good tour glad your wearing PPE

Safety first BUT I DONT THINK THERE IS ANY MOLD IN THE WORLD THAT CAN HARM YOU FOR BREATHING IT FOR A HOUR OR TWO
