Most RU-vidrs that can't weld, will use editing and multiple tack welds. Continuous beads are ideal for strength.

The video makes it seem like he is doing pulse welding. Some machines actually have a pulse welding function. Tig welders use that style a lot, especially on aluminum. They call it "stacking nickels" (or dimes). Running a bead (continuous weld) isn't always required on small length welds. On pipe however, running beads are ALWAYS required. At 5:21 you can see where both base metal and filler metal fused together. No fusion, no using. That small blackhole isn't good. If you see that in your welds, grind the area smooth and reweld it. Its porosity. Its not a game changer but in ANY certified weld test it is reason for FAIL.

Doesn't matter. The coating on standard residential tubs/showers is not intended to be exposed to constant heat. It can create a situation where you Inhale dangerous fumes and other chemical reactions. Commonsense.
