Matt thinks he's the main character. Reminds me of that one episode of Kitchen Nightmares when a pigeon was flying around, with Gordon saying "and the freshest thing in this kitchen, is that pigeon flying around. And it's lucky it's still alive."
Yeah one thing I noticed is that 99% of the time, peoples “signature dishes” are just foods they either felt like making, or thought would stand out. Meghan was the only one I remember who said that she’s made her dish a million times.
Ryan's idea to add seasoned Rice Krispies for added texture to her scallops is a truly inspired choice. It worked for her in the end in spectacular fashion, no matter what Johnny thinks lol.
@@art.of.verser I knew Ryan is going to win the whole thing from the beginning from her story that she's doing it for her daughter and then she has a good character development from someone with quiet voice to find her voice and also surviving from Paulie who constantly picking up on her in Blue Team. Sadly, after winning, she has a sad life as she didn't get the Executive Chef Position on Yardbird just being a Sous Chef and then she suffered on long Covid and has to be on oxygen and she suffered abuse from her on and off boyfriend. Hopefully, wherever she is, she's doing better now.
@@margarethmichelina5146Alex Belew also had an inspiration for coming to Hell’s Kitchen to come back after his restaurant closed due to COVID. He eventually won the competition, even being the last “40-somethings” standing in the black jackets.
fair warning for anyone who hasnt watched this season, the men on this season are some of the worst in the history of the show imagine an entire team of franks 🤢
@@Pixi701Aaron, Devin and Koop are the only sane members of this Blue Team. Koop has a bad temper but he mostly blaming himself not the others, Aaron is just inexperience, Devin the Southern boy is mostly likes to argue with Andrew and Andrew likes to pick up on him for no reason. Pat is actually nice too if he stays longer.
I always found it very smart by Gordon how for the signature dish challenge, the pantry will have fresh, canned, frozen, pre made, and packaged ingredients all at once because it allows him to gauge when he judges the contestants’s signature dishes whom still chose to use fresh ingredients despite being tempted by the non fresh ones vs those who chose to take the easy way out and cut corners by using the non fresh ingredients
@@ShadowMoon878also, the earlier seasons they were able to request ingredients. Some of the choices they made, no way they just happened to be in the cupboard.
To be honest, I always wonder if Matt was casted to basically be another Joseph. I mean with how he acted he basically feels like the same guy except he lasted longer than Joseph.
I’m still shocked that Matt got so far in the competition when he had already no respect for anyone but himself, wanted to beat Gordon up and was even racist to Hassan.
This is base on chef Signature Dish performance: Gia: Very good Pat: Decent Wendy: Mediocre Aaron: Good Heather: Excellent Paulie: Excellent Kimberly: Disappointing Devin: Disappointing Aziza: Below average Matt: Disappointing Ryan: Excellent Genaro: Disappointing Shaina: Good Koop: Very good Jessica: Disappointing Andrew: Mediocre Heidi: Very good Johnny: Very good
I’m still wondering why do people insist on using canned food on their dishes knowing chef will destroy them… why does chef even allow canned food in hell’s kitchen?
It's to test them. Someone used boxed pasta in Season 22's signature dish challenge. I hope nobody in S23 uses canned or boxed items for their signature dish.
I didn’t like Johnny during this season and I’m glad he’s since admitted he regretted how he acted on the show but I agreed with him there about how you just can’t make canned clams sound good
@@notramesses4790 The worse part it's been 22 seasons and still counting on Hell's Kitchen and there is some contestant who thinks using canned or package food is a good idea for Signature Dish. Last one was Dahmere on Season 22 who used package food for his Signature Dish. Bruh.
@@Father_of_Death nah…Koop didn’t get eliminated backside Paulie ratted him out, I am pretty sure that Ramsay sees the confessional as well and in one episode when Koop needed medical attention he did say in his confessional that he wanted to go home. So Ramsay probably thought that the chair smashing was his last straw of mental exhaustion
The producers are going to remove anyone who becomes a liability or breaks the show rules. That's also my theory on why they randonly got rid of Raj when he started to lose it.
I always felt bad for Aaron this season. He has so much potential, yet he is stuck with such a toxic team and put up for elimination for just being young without being given a chance to prove himself. Aaron deserves better.
I personally thinking Aaron would be like male version of Julia from Season 3 who also has no experience but make it further and going to Black Jacket. But, too bad his team is too toxic even he got eliminated for doing nothing wrong! He would be better at Young Guns season with wholesome teammate.
I’ve always said this and I’ll say it again, Aaron was in the wrong season of Hell’s Kitchen he would’ve done better and gone further in Season 20 Young Guns because nobody was really toxic there compared to his teammates here
@@margarethmichelina5146I feel like the producers may have had Gordon eliminate Aaron simply even though he did nothing wrong in his elimination episode to the point even he was confused about it in his elimination exit confessional, most likely because he didn’t fit the bill of the toxic blue team from this season alongside Devin and Koop and wanted drama for the ratings as they always do
Matt is the most hated hell's kitchen chef, period Point BLANK, Everything him and Johnny put out food wise was pretty much NOT good, I thought frank from season 15 and Jason Underwood as well was bad but here we are
Because of the back to back season when Frank and Matt from Season 15 and 16 show how sexists and disrespectful they are, the casting director decided not to have another contestant with Military or Marine background anymore.
I love Hell’s Kitchen, even if I fell bad for the runners up and everything. It inspired me for the future to get into cooking. I do find it funny when Ramsey is mad but, if I ever get into Hell’s Kitchen, I won’t be laughing. I have watching maybe half of Hell’s Kitchens Episode’s and paid good attention to chefs mistakes so, hopefully in the future I won’t make them mistakes IF I ever get into Hell’s Kitchen.
8:20 she could run circles around the entire blue team, and when she was on the blue team and Paulie was sabotaging her, even then it was Paulie who was worst performer in those services 9:21 studying from one of the most expensive and prestigious Culinary school and yet getting a 2 on a signature dish, how and why did the blue team ever take him seriously
You can tell this is edited to make Americans happy...The sounds and ques to laugh or be serious... other countries just have it raw and let's them make their own mind up about how to feel..
Matt comes off like he’d come forward when you ask for the Real Slim Shady to please stand up, yet is so annoying and ridiculous that even Cartman would get tired of him and his wannabe tough guy behavior after a while.
Okay, for some reason, that would be a great idea for Parker and Stone to execute for an episode of South Park, if those two ever watched HK. I'd love to see that happen, honestly.
If you removed the "let's sabotage each other" aspect from the Seaon 16's Blue Team then it would be a standoff between Devin, Koop and Wendy (yeah Andrew was good but he was the one who would plan the sabotage because someone hurt his ego, and it was so satisfying that Kimberly won the black jacket over him and his mate Paulie and his "friend" Heather chose Kimberly's dish over Andrew's for the final black jacket.
What's a bolonagise? And is dove a bad idea? Because Ramsay clearly depised it. And as much as i despise Johnny, he had a point. Canned clams rarely cam surpass fresh Also seeing Ryan and knowing what happened hurts.
To answer your questions: 1) a bolognese is a meat based sauce from Italy, usually made with a combination of ground beef, pork, and veal. 2) Dove meat would be a bad choice, because it’s a very gamey meat, that should only be cooked to medium rare, otherwise the meat becomes grainy, dry, and has a very off putting, mineral-like taste.
