I love how the boys are doing housework and not leaving it up to just to the girls

She is even sweet and cheerful when she is in extreme pain. She is an Angel.

Somehow they manage to make each kid feel special...amazing.

I have no idea why people like the Duggars more than the Bates. The Bates are 100x better. They seem like a real family who actually love each other, not robotic and rehearsed like the Duggars.

Gil and Kelly both went to college, love their kids (they can say at least more than two adjectives to describe them), and they are actually grateful for all the housework the older girls do around the house. While I may not agree with their beliefs, I sure as hell respect them 10 times more than the Duggars.

Not to be picky or compare too much but I've never seen Jim Bob feed a baby or change a baby like Gil did. Maybe the cameras don't show Jim Bob do a lot of parent duties.

My dad was a preacher. He always said "the Duggars are so heavenly bound, they're no earthly good."

I love how the guys actually participate in helping in this family unlike the Duggars. This family just seems so much more loving.

I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago, the pain before I got it out was so excruciating I was in tears. My heart really went out to Mrs. Bates seeing her in that much pain. Then after surgery, pain is gone, is amazing how fast. And you're so thankful and grateful.

I would rather watch this family than the Duggars any day. There is a genuine love they seem to have and Mr. Bates is way less creepy than JimBob. Haha

It seems like the older boys are more involved with helping with the kids than they are on the Duggars, but there are more older boys in the Bates family.

I've only just come across this family and I love how fun-loving and happy they all are. There is a huge amount of love and respect between them all. The parents are doing a wonderful job raising their family.

The parents seem more normal than the duggers. These people really seem to like their children.

Listen. All families come together but this scene. 11:16 made me tear up. I felt their IMMEDIATE FEARS!! The fear for mom’s surgery. The fear the daughter felt being left with the baby for the first time and fearing her moms surgery. The little wave with the baby in her arms 👋 . The dad fearing EVERYONE in that room hahah. I like this fam! They love ❤️

I really love Bringing Up Bates. I love the way Gil and Kelly Jo raise their children... believing and serving the Lord. I literally can't wait until Thursday night so I can watch this show. I'm praying for Michael and Brandon to soon have an announcement of their own. I loved the show that featured their engagement, the wedding and just everything about this couple as I do with all of the courtship and engagement events for all. Continued success for this wonderfully enjoyable show. God bless.

I love the Duggars, but this family just seems to have much more personality, life and love. I don't cringe when I hear Gil and Kelly Jo speak like I do when I hear Michelle and Jim Bob and they actually seem to know and have connections with their children as opposed to the Duggar parents. Shelter your children if you will but the Duggars take it too far.

I love the bates! They are such a "normal" family. The girls have their own opinions and are not tied to babysitting other siblings. In one episode on of the girls was talking about cooking and said if you don't like it than you can keep quiet or something to that effect. This family is real! Duggar girls seem so afraid to speak up

Imagine being greeted with that much love and hugs and gifts and smiles and family. And sweet signs.

I wish the Bates were the stars of 19 Kids and Counting instead of the Duggars. I like them a lot more than the Duggars.

Gil and Kelly seem to be such good parents and really want to be close with as love each of their children, I think Jim Bob and Michelle are awkward with their kids and seem to hand them off mostly to Jana. With the Bates the older ones help but Gil and Kelly Jo really do take care of them as parents should. Also the Bates kids have their own personalities, while the duggar kids all seem to act the same, talk the same and do the same. Just my perspective

The Bates family seem more like a normal family, genuine love, a plenty ! House is really lived in , all chip in to do what’s needed, yet not as much yelling and screaming as you’d think with 19 kids !

I don't mean this to sound mean or anything, but it is just me or does anyone else feel like this family is more genuine and real than the Duggar Family? Maybe it's because I use to live in Clinton, TN and I know that most all the people there are just like the Bates Family. Clinton is just a short drive south of Lake City. Don't get me wrong, I love the Duggars, but the Bates are just more down to earth, to me.

My husband did the same thing as gill stayed with the nurses and with me all through my recovery, admission, and before surgery. He was and is my prayer partner for life. We are now expecting our 1st rainbow baby possibly 2 rainbow babies. :) God is so merciful and loving.

They seem so much more loving, less strict, more relaxed then the Duggers. Even the boys seem to help more than the Dugger boys.

I think how I describe the Bates verses the Duggar’s (I enjoy watching them both) for me is that I’d love to be in the Bates family whereas I’d never want to be a Duggar. They’re both different in family dynamics but this family just seem more educated, together, and loving. Idk why I feel that way but I think it mostly comes down to how the parents interact with the kids. The Bates parents seem so much more involved with their kids whereas with the Duggar parents, it felt like the older kids raised the younger kids. And I love how much the Bates have this close knit bond. (Edited to fix grammar issues).

First time watching this family and I truly believe they are more ginium than the Duggars. They just act so different, so caring, and when the wife was sick, the husband was right on top of it...

I'd hate to have to pay their electric, water and grocery bill each month....lol. Seriously though, the Bates are amazing people and I love watching them. I live about 30 or 35 minutes away from Lake City and every time I go by there on I-75 I always think of the Bates family.

I'll take this family over the Duggars anytime- they're not fake and phony and Gil actually changes diapers, which I totally didn't expect. Moreover these kids are just more relatable as opposed to being submissive automatons.

So sweet. He are a big family that gets excited to seeceachothervyoo❤️Can’t beat the love and connection of it. Our are “mine-yours-and ours” so is more like the Brady Brunch, but large families are pretty cool. Definitely not for everyone. But neat when the work out well.

I am totally at the opposite end of the political and religious spectrum as these folks (mainly because I used to be one arrow to keep the quiver full) but I do think the bates are a sweeter and closer family than the duggars. It's like I can see Gil Bates actually loving his family while Jim Bob duggar is very awkward around his kids and tends to put michelle in charge of them (not anything else of course). But when he was describing the procedure to the little ones Gil genuinely had a twinkle in his eye.
