@@Memento_Mori3210 people do care about history, it's just that un doesn't have the ability to enforce it's will on countries, it's general assembly gives out mere suggestions that no one cares about. Had it got the ability to hold countries responsible for breaking international law, the world would've been a better place
It’s impossible to measure the wars that didn’t happen. But it is possible to measure that the UN’s World Food Programme has supported 128 million people on the brink of starvation, and likely saved the lives of 34 million.
Look at their work in the Sahara, they are deadass bringing trees and grass back to the Sahara Desert. It's kinda crazy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WCli0gyNwL0.html
Imagine in UN has more power than the greedy nations who rule us, imegine if the general assembly had more power than the useless security council... But over all, glory to humanity!!!
The United Nations should be allowed to act for humanity where ever, whenever. It's like an absolute beast leashed by the chains that is the security council.
If UN was a beast it would be a paper tiger. It has no actual power or Authority. Even those soldiers wearing the UN helmets aren't actually it's own and have virtually 0 authority to do anything besides defend themselves.
Edit: RIP Uruavu, they recently returned from their mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo 21 years of FAU supporting United Nations ended on May 10 of this year Uruavu - Uruasu
This might be too much to ask, but can ye make one with Bangladesh added as well? We do contribute quite a lot to the Peacekeeping forces. Hell, pretty sure we have the most amount of Peacekeepers currently active. Baller ass edit, btw.
To be fair... Palestinians are killing and looting Humanitarian Aid drivers/convoys from Egypt and other countries so I wouldn't blame the UN from staying out,
@@emperoralexsander6478 guess the UN choice of letting more then 13k kids that got bombed from the sky is fair to you,or the humanitarian targeted solely cause they are giving food is fair for you, or maybe bombings hospitals is also fair, targeting journalists families definitely is fair…. YOU ARE A DEMON !!
IT is hard for the blue-helmets to do their job because the ROE is SUFFOCATING. They are barely aloud to engage, or provide aid due to the intense combat. Most UN Convoys in other parts of the world also get destroyed because of their ROE. Also the Security Council destroys itself due to infighting and not agreeing on things.
@@emperoralexsander6478 because I think the United Nations only serves the bidding of whoever has money. And if there’s nothing in it for the powers at play they don’t intervene
@@onwardturtle3815 Well I'd argue that isn't the MESSAGE of the UN, but that is perhaps a sad reality of it. Without money the UN can't do its mission,
I think they can be helpful but I hate these guys who wear their UNIFIL or UNMISS shirts like they're some kind of hardcore combat veteran like nah you just patrolled around the desert for 6 month because the military has nothing better to do rn
Well what do you think other military me do?! US soldiers have been sitting in a base or patrolling a useless desert for the last 50 years for example, and don't say Iraq or Afghanistan, US casualties in those are so unbelievably small. These UN peace keepers have seen genoside and constant war, I would not say "they have nothing better to do". (Rwanda genocide for example)
@@ThomasBriard well yeah anyone who wasn't a fast action guy in the sandbox getting deployed to real CQB missions should also be a little more humble IMO
@@ThomasBriard but you really do get the feeling that they didn't volunteer for any sense of duty, just to come back home and say "look I did war stuff" because their army back home isn't doing shir
