Of course I love your work, but it speaks for itself. You,… I am really taken by the way that you can, not only articulate what you have learned, but what you feel, and what is truth for you. So, thank you for sharing, your work, and, how you feel about it, but also your wisdom.

This makes me realize that even a stone can be used to help or destroy, all will depend on the use that people want to give it. And by doing this at the same time, it will reveal what each person have inside like a sincere reflection of us. - Ramon

Thank you Athar for another illuminating perspective on this ancient tradition of venerating stone. Your comparisons span a huge cross-section of belief structures and focus on the common element. Why stone? Is it because it will last a very long time, Ars Aeterna, vita brevis? The enduring nature of stone offers meaning in a transitory existence. This meaning is elevated by adoption into a religious structure, venerating it, finding meaning in it... I guess it makes sense from the ontological perspective. My personal preference is the obelisk. Ma, tante grazie ancora per la tua dedizione all'insegnamento

I once heard there were accounts of a giant in Jackyll island who made human sacrifices on to a stone and then a house was built on top of that stone.

Yes, sacrifices were very common and in some cultures are still present. The practice of sacrifices is another topic that I will discuss soon.

Hi Athar, interesting point on stone perception, I am very interested on worship practices on stones, it seems like in the Hindu culture for instance, some of the rituals have also maintenece purposes other than spiritual meanings :) Anyway whenever you mean to expand the tutorial serie I'd appreciate a lot your advices on how move stones safely and without pricy machinaries.

Wonderful work of performance art as well as the sculpture itself. Did you sculpt it in such a way that makes it look weathered?
@AtharJaber
@AtharJaber 2 года назад
Hello Andrew, I sculpted it roughly as I didn't think smoothing it down would contribute more to the work. So yes, but the performance also left its signs on the stone as some of the liquids were slightly absorbed by the porous stone.
