Mine does not use usb 3 it uses thunderbolt 3. I think you are confusing usb c with thunder bolt 3. Thunderbolt 3 looks like usb c but it’s transfer rate ( bandwidth ) is much higher
I have thunderbolt 3. But, it's in the shape of a regular USB port hole on my Windows computer. What do I do then if I don't have a type C ?? If I get a type C to regular USB adapter will this x8p still work ?? Anyone could help me ??
Thunderbolt 3 has only been available in a Type-C form factor. Your computer doesn’t have Thunderbolt 3 but you’re probably confusing it with USB 3.0. You can add a PCI-e card that adds Thunderbolt 3 to your computer so you can plug in the interface. Also note, Thunderbolt 3 is a different standard from USB 3.1 over Type-C even though they use the same connector. So USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 devices work over Thunderbolt 3 but Thunderbolt 3 devices don’t work over USB 3.1 over Type-C
Why can’t thunderbolt 3 be the same size port as thunderbolt 1 and 2? Having to buy constantly new cable and deal with new port sizes is stupid - no one really cares if a port is a bit bigger or smaller any more . The only benefit is for the bank account of the companies like apple
The USB type C connector has more pins for better power/data transfer. Also doesn't hurt that you don't have to fiddle to find orientation when you're reaching behind a computer or other device and can't see back there.
Mine x8p failed yesterday. Sooo annoying! It started making noise, hard reset doesn't help. I have only power cable connected, input meter is all the way up. What a nightmare. It must be something seriously wrong with it. Such an expensive equipment and I only used it for a couple of months. I found people having similar issue, this is how it 'works' ru-vid.combgQE6mYslRI
