Experimental acid at its BEST. Fuck your $3500 compressor, your fancy reverb emulation and your 25 plugins! Just plug that that damn old dusty 303 to the drum machines and jam.
What special moments are exhumed within that album. :) My fondest memory of finding my first alien (it was real I swear) was during listening to Universal Indicator. It danced above my loudspeakers and then jumped into the ceiling :)
The crude, gritty, unpolished near crappy sound is undoubtedly part of the aesthetics and magic of all the Universal Indicator releases. If released today with all the over-polished EQ’s and ridiculous compressors it would not work at all. Very sad that no more producers have the guts to go that visceral rough path, today’s production is waaaaay too clinical and sanitized, to not say simply boring.
You need to listen to some underground music, dude. Just go on Bandcamp and look for something under a tag and you’ll find something you’ll like. The past never goes away, it only haunts.
Why did no one comment on this album? This music helps motivate me to work hard especially on 2X sugar or caffeine. Boy, go to the dentist. Adding more words here: Thank you for uploading this. I could not find it under Aphex Twin, but I must then be ill advised. The album's about over. I did enjoy listening to it. Thanks again.
No idea if it’s part of the release or accident. Not that I can identify it but it sounds like blue calx when I first heard it. I know we all know it’s afx but before all his aliases we’re known it could of been a little nod to it being himself rather than UI
it could be. at the end of the album caustic window, at the end of the song prank calls, it sounds like there's a bit of the song tree from saw ii. maybe aphex was teasing his new album by putting short clips at the end of these two albums.
