I installed this module in my 1994 Benz W124. I got lost in the various settings and your video helped me out. I now have a huge increase in remote door lock distance. Thanks again. Old Mercedes Benzes are such fun
Did you wire it the same way as in my video? It sounds like your driver door lock vacuum actuator is bad. Pull the door panel off carefully and test it

That's a really nice feature to have! I've done this job on my w124 a couple of weeks ago 😁 just one complaint is that you have to have both the key and the remote control separatly, I wish i could merge the 2 to have only one assembly key+remote
Hi. Please rewatch the same video and if your car still has issues, watch this video. You may have the same issue like I had: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hO1A6DHzTjg.htmlsi=KTlExTSNtFFR9947
@@Santos-ds1ch en mi caso la señal que le entra a la bomba de vacío fue mediante el cable amarillo y no verde como en el vídeo. Pero me sirvió de algo el vídeo para tomar algunas ideas. Con un multímetro no hay perdida. Puedes rastrear e identificar señales y voltaje. Saludos gracias por responder
Hello, I connect everything as you said and the remote control is powered on. The led flash when I lock and stops when I unlock, but the locks didn't do anything. Should I try to connect the white - oragne/black to blue or yellow? Thanks
Absolutely saves me a ton of fooling around with my w201 but I am curious about the tiny red wire sticking out in the back and if the trunk release works too or that it unlocks everything automatically because of the pump, would I have to wire it different or should it not matter?
hey, thanks for the video. How did you figure out the orange needed to be shorted with the white/black etc ? I got a different system and have no idea which to connect to the green wire !
@@VITOSGARAGE Thanks for the reply. Turns out my controller isnt compatible with pneumatic systems. I got one that is with instructions on how to do it included. Wire colours different, but same result. Thanks for your help !
Why cut it? You can do the same thing like I showed in the video. I installed that special splice and never had to cut any wires. I can lock or unlock the car using the remote and mechanical key
Should be this one. Any universal keyless entry kit is basically the same: www.ebay.com/itm/402511535174?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item5db78e9c46:g:2JEAAOSwNhNfko6H&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAA8LB0twW4bWfw5AJixOyl2w9oNnf%2FWeaOQX%2FaVFQF6sVde2%2BFzIpnHabvY%2BIW3SSujR8Vrgv1GzGcwTsY8bD1qaOIh2DTsJZ1VUb4PcgjKcW3k0a0MXWDKIEkjuyO6NdD3iktj1slsMuQsu74KvmYFZmBxO2tojAAVmdFLZuHThm1oLFuz7cEIowHqFp2YJBjvwaIcot8h3KhyXE5Tglun3UtfiefwOky0Kc9xuiIDGym5Gsr0tTW8Nb8ydYUVcE0kC1PaBj%2BFfPW%2BujGUsOgLxQhEQFLllGTYzqP10%2Bd%2FsG2P5WLVQfXM1UTyuLeG7mj5w%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMoISFyYZg
I installed this exact same keyless module in my 1992 190e and not working. It will lock with the remote but will not UNLOCK. I rewatched this video like 5 times and I’m pretty sure I have everything connected correctly. Any ideas?
Everything worked for me. You're missing something or using the wrong keyless module. Look at the wiring diagram that came with your keyless module and look at the wires that say ''Unlock''. Now go back to my wiring schematic from the video and see how those ''unlock'' wires connect.
Did you figure it out, Nate? Here's what I need to update everyone with: What you need to remember with 190 (W201 chassis) is that when you unlock it, you have to wait till the vacuum pump stops pumping. Once the pump stops pumping air, you can lock it with the remote. Otherwise the keyless module doesn't like that and prevents the locks from working. In that case you need to reset the battery. So, when you use your keyless remote, do this: Unlock and wait. Lock it when the vacuum pump stops working. Long story short, give it a break between locking and unlocking, otherwise the locks will stop working and you'll need to reset the battery in that case.
@@VITOSGARAGE thank you Vito I will try this. Out of coincidence, the door lock assembly on my drivers side broke during my testing. Something plastic inside the assembly jammed up. I had to order a used part on eBay. Once it gets here and I can fully test I will post an update.
@@VITOSGARAGE I fixed it. I had the power and ground wires connected to a different harness. There is another harness under the seat that has the same colors brown and red but is apparently different.
Great Video! Quick question, do you have to add the actuators inside the door panel in order to use the keyless entry? Or is it simply just a module and fob with no actuator needed?
@@VITOSGARAGE yep, the mechanisms (pump, lines, actuator) are in the car but you have to use the key to open them from the door lock cylinder, what Vito did was he installed that module to power the vac pump remotely and not having to turn the key
Latest Update: Here’s how to fix your keyless entry if you have issues: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hO1A6DHzTjg.html Hello friends. I need to send an important message for some of you in case your locks stop working completely and you have it WIRED PROPERLY: What you need to remember with 190 (W201 chassis) is that when you unlock it, you have to wait till the vacuum pump stops pumping. Once the pump stops pumping air, you can lock it with the remote. Otherwise the keyless module doesn't like that and prevents the locks from working. In that case you need to reset the battery. So, when you use your keyless remote, do this: Unlock and wait. Don't lock it right away! Lock it when the vacuum pump stops working. Long story short, give it a break between locking and unlocking. If your locks don't work at all but everything is wired properly, reset the battery for 30 seconds and the remote locks will start working again. Just remember, give it a break between locking and unlocking.
Good day Vito, I follow your videos on RU-vid. You doing a great job. I wanted ask if you could help me with wiring my 190E with a central locking unit a bit different from the one you had used but I think the features must be same. I just need to know which wires I need to use to connect to the green wire of the vacuum pump.
Hello, i did the same thing as you did on my 190E with same kit and have a problem. I can unlock it, but when i want to lock it by wireless key, it will lock and automatically unlocked in a sec... I tried to cut the green cable, like manual said to do, but no differences... Do you have any idea?
It's a long story, but you need different door panels and different window regulators, you need to add more window switches to the center console wood trim, and you need to add the wiring harness to the rear windows.
the orange/black wire and white wire that go the the green wire on the pump, did you connect both wires together and solder onto the green wire or did you cut the green wire and solder the orange/black to one end of the green wire and the white wire to the other end
Amazing video for beginners. I recently lost my main key for my 300SDL Diesel and I found a replacement mechanism for the ignition so I now have a key for that, but still need a key for the doors. Your project is a perfect option for me now and I will go ahead and order this keyless entry system and I will make sure it’s the same to avoid any confusion. This will hopefully get me back on the road without having to worry about the doors left unlocked :)
Go the dealership with the title and order a new key. That’s another way. I really recommend doing this too. They’ll cut you a new key according to your VIN
I've got mine wired in in my w124, seems do what it's supposed to on the remote, locks and unlocks but the car doesn't let it stay locked/unlocked, so if I lock it on the fob the door pins will go down but they'll go straight back up again, any idea? Works fine on key
Ciao maestro puoi dirmi una cosa se lo installi male il antifurto può portare problema al avviamento? Io ho il 190e che sono tanti anni che parte e non parte, può essere che ho il problema del installazione allarme? Grazie
Hello and thank you for your support. If you want to add the lights, you have to find an electrical wiring schematic for your particular car. And usually, you need to disassemble the interior to run extra wires from the keyless module to the rear lights and to the front of the car. Sometimes you can just tap into the wires located at the flasher relay. I think that’d be the easiest thing. Look for the flasher relay in your car and tap into that. Unfortunately but I haven’t made a video on this because I am not a fan of too much extra spaghetti in the car. But if you have more questions , you can contact me on social media
@@VITOSGARAGE thanks Vito, do you think you can do a quick follow up video on this? Much love from Cali!!!!! Restoring a 95 E320 to live the last of her days in rust free California!
@@sebastianvanh342 I’ll do the follow up but not soon. I have other cars to work on and I’m quite busy these days. But I’ll for sure make a video on this in the future. As of right now, I can explain to you what you can do if you want to add turn signals to your keyless module. You might be able to do it using just 1 wire and tapping it into a wire on the hazard switch. MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED. There are 2 brown wires on the keyless module that are for the lights. I think you can just use one of those brown wires and run it all the way under the carpet to your hazard switch. Use 20 Gauge wire if you can, and insulate it in some kind of loom so it doesn’t rub through anything! It’s very important! That wire that you’re going to run all the way to the front of the car must be insulated and not bouncing around anywhere. Use some zip ties to tie it to the floor in multiple places. You don’t want to cause any shorts and that’s why it’s important to wrap that wire in a loom and to make sure it’s gonna be safe . Now, you’ll need to disassemble your center console to get to the hazard switch. When the hazard switch is accessible, look for a Black/Yellow/Red wire. According to the wiring schematic I looked at, it’s the best wire to tap into for your turn signals. Use the same method of tapping into the wire I showed in this video. Connect the battery. Check to see if the lights flash when you use the remote. They should. If they don’t, message me on Instagram: vitosgarageyoutube . We will figure it out. Some W124s have different color wires at that hazard switch. If everything is working, put liquid electrical tape on that wire you just tapped into. Let it dry and put it all back together. Write a note on that wire and say something like “this wire is for turn signals for keyless entry”. That way other people working on it will know what that extra wire is for. Let me know how everything goes! I post new car videos every week. Cheers🤝
