In today's vlog we head to Universal Orlando's Cabana Bay Beach Resort for a hotel walking tour and a standard queen room tour as well as a tour of a Volcano Bay view room! Tim thank you so much for showing the Cabana Bay cat. We stayed there in April and the cat is very friendly if you feed it. The cat is a female and was pregnant when we were there. She did have a hurt paw and we made sure the workers were aware of it. They take care of her and the workers already have agreed to take home the kittens. There was a woman who wanted to take the cat home with her she drove and we flew, so it would have been easier for her but the workers promised she would be well taken care of. I was so happy that you showed her and she looks relaxed and well. Thank you, made me smile.

We were there in April also and fed the kitty. I swear my husband is a cat whisperer, lol. She allowed him to pet her and got quite comfortable with him. She was very sweet. Unfortunately, we flew also so couldn't take her home. While in Orlando we popped in this past January just to tour our favorite resort, but didn't see her. I got so excited to see her in the video. Can't wait to show him when he gets home tonight.

@@largol33t1 Just saw your post. Sorry it took so long. I'm pretty sure she's just an outdoor kitty. Lots of guests feed her. I have to wonder if she is still as skittish as she was when we first saw her in April 2018. So funny to see Tim's vlog and there she was. Hope you get to see her.

@@irenepierce167 An update, I got back from a one week stay. I never saw the Cabana Bay cat. She might have either moved on to another hotel or someone adopted her. I pray she didn't get hit by a car. The hotels on this block have no sidewalks! Even worse, there are no crosswalks or lights to guide pedestrians. Unbelievable. They make everyone use the overhead bridge but you have to scan your room key at the VERY unreliable gates on each end. This was so aggravating and took so long that I just refused to walk over to the other side for the rest of the trip. And the ones around Cabana Bay's pool area are also unreliable. Sometimes, after the key card beeps the lock, I had to wiggle the handle to get it to move! Overall, it was decent but the rooms are not kept up well (found two LONG black hairs on the supposedly washed sheets) and in some hallways, the carpet has a noticeable rip.

That's not Art Deco, that's Mid-Century Modern. Art Deco is more like the tower of terror.

Floridas' Tower of Terror is built in the Neo-Mediterranean Style. Art Deco has a more streamlined symmetry to it. Think Chrysler Building or Buffalo City Hall.

I REALLY like the look. It's so sleek but still has a happy personality. The interior designers really knew their stuff and it clearly shows. I've stayed at a hotel (it opened long before Cabana Bay) that tried to imitate this look and failed hilariously. It was some small name hotel, nothing owned by the 'Big 4' (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Holiday Inn).

Keep in mind you have to book the bowl alley 3 hrs in advance its 15 bucks per game and they only give you an hour to play

I was just there, I’m currently at the airport on my way home! Too bad I don’t see you guys there. We stayed in the continental building, and far off in the distance we were able to Cinderella’s castle, which got us pretty amped up for our Disney trip next month.

I've stayed here. Absolutely fantastic resort, it's one of my favorites in all of Orlando. I love the theme, it's so light and cheerful. The family suite is very well designed for four people. Getting a drink poolside or at the Swizzle is a great way to wind down. The lazy river is really nice to have, we went every day. The staff was very friendly and well trained. You can walk to the resorts via a path just past the Thunderbird building but it's a long trek. Lastly, it's an affordable hotel. One drawback (and it's a big one): no included express pass with this resort. For that reason alone, I've stayed at both Hard Rock and Royal Pacific (neither of which I liked as much).

I'm always very happy when you do a resort tour. There's a LOT of good non-Disney and non-Universal owned resorts around the parks that I'd like to know more about. Often I don't even know these exist until you do a tour on them or if I make a specific point to look at a map of the surrounding areas. Keep up the good work, I hope to see them all on your channel at one point.

Mouse Street TV Universal Resorts really blow the Disney ones out of the water! I had always stayed at Disney resorts but on my last trip did Cabana Bay. You get so many more things at Universal Resorts for less money. Definitely recommend staying here!

Universal hotels are far and away better than even the best Disney resorts.. That being said, cabana bay does not have a ferryboat that takes you to the parks and it doesn’t include fastpass with the room rate like some of the other hotels do

She was pregnant when we were there and a woman wanted to take her home but the workers take good care of her. They were taking home the kittens and taking her to the vet because she did have a hurt paw. She is friendly if you feed her. I was so happy that Tim showed her. Made me smile.

Amie Zadow We left there the first of May and she was still pregnant but looked like she would deliver soon. I hope they get her spayed too. She lays under the tables and people feed her all day long. She is friendly and will stay next to you if you have food.

Now I'm curious. Did the UK have buildings designed like that in the 1960s? That's the time in America the designers were trying to imitate. They should have included a MINI with the other classic cars on display. I used to own a current generation BMW version of the MINI and can see why it was so popular in the late 1960s.

My son & I stayed there last August & it is a fantastic hotel! I loved the decor/theme. Rooms were clean & spacious. Our view overlooked the lazy river and, if you pressed your face up against the window, you could see the volcano from Volcano Bay. I really liked the diner in the hotel. Tons & tons of food to choose from. All very resonable. All nights we were there, we ate for around $20-$25 for two people. I would definitely recommend staying there. You get access to early park hours. You also have two pools to swim in & the lazy river. All the pools were very nice. Also, where we stayed, it was a very short walk to Volcano Bay. It was great!

My husband and I stayed in the Volcano Bay side room last September on our honeymoon. We arrived at the hotel too early for our check in but they held our luggage for us while we looked around and grabbed lunch. They texted us when the room was ready and we picked up our luggage and went to our room. We had the most amazing view! It was so breath taking! Seeing this video brought back so many memories! I can smell how the room smelled just from watching this video... might be weird. And the fish tacos at the bar by the pool were amazing! I can’t wait to go back one day!

For anyone traveling with adult kids that need there own bed the universal onsite hotels are insanely over priced for the size of the room. That would probably also apply to anyone traveling who can't cram down into a standard 2 double bed room 300 square foot room. Drive a short distance off site to one of the dozens of resorts and we ended up with a huge 1,800 square foot 3 solid bedrooms suite at one of the Marriott resorts for half the cost per night.

The Disney Nerds She is friendly if you feed her. She was pregnant when we were there in May. Looks like she had the kittens. Please keep us updated on how she is doing. She had a hurt paw when we were there and the workers said they would get it checked by a vet. I was so happy that Tim showed her. Glad you are going in August and can check on her.

Great video Tim! For the last 6 years, every year when I come to Universal, I stay at Cabana Bay. You Really cant beat the price. Its a lovely resort! Next year when I come for my birthday, I'll be most definitely requesting a room with that view of Volcano Bay.. I never seen that, and that looks AMAZING!!!

I love Cabana Bay! I recently went to Universal with my parents and we stayed in this hotel. The whole 50s/60s aesthetic made it that much more fun to stay at. This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The diner’s food was delicious and the rooms were gorgeous. The beds were so comfortable. I remember I would relax in the lazy river for hours and repeatedly ride the water slide in the atomic pool. I also remember spending a long time looking at all of the merchandise they had in the gift shop. If my parents and I go back to Universal, I want to stay here again. :)

We booked to stay there right after Christmas, arrived, and were highly disappointed. Cabana Bay needs major renovations. Broken drawers, flickering shower lights, dirty mirror and grout, dingy. We checked out the very next day and moved into Endless Summer Resort. It's the place to stay. Clean, fresh, new, and perfectly access to the parks.

My husband and I have watched your videos for almost two years now and i've never chimed in until now. We are so relieved that "Cabana" the cat is ok. I went there last month. Am a bit let down that I never saw the cat. But it's a great hotel. The one catch of going in January is that although crowds are VERY light, you run the risk of Volcano Bay being shut down. They will try to open it but there were signs everywhere saying "Because of unexpected cold weather, Volcano Bay is closed." There were quite a few angry kids in the lobby. I can't blame them since they came all the way to see the water park. I think their parents took them to Universal to cheer them up. It's only four minutes away by bus and Universal's bus system is punctual and reliable.

Cabana Bay rooms are Mid. Century not Art Deco. Deco was the 20's Mid Century 50's 60's. Sorry Tim I think the world of you and would not correct you but to far off. great vlog.

I am SO GLAD to see the cabana bay kitty!!! We were there back in November of 2017 and met him! He is actually super sweet. We gave him some food and milk. Multiple guests were feeding him. The staff said he kind of just appeared. He seemed happy. I'm glad he is OK. I often think of him! :-)

I would never think of staying at Universal, but the review was surprisingly great. The themeing is on point, and that Volcano Bay view is so cool - never would've thought it was that impressive!

May have been a fluke, when stayed at cabana bay with my family we had a bag of merchandise we purchased go missing from our room. The I items were never recovered and we were compensated after we had already driven home. We drove 9 hours to visit. The situation was eventually resolved but I feel more care could have been used.

I was just there 2 weeks ago and we loved every single minute of our stay in the cabana bay beach resort, we hope to go back again next year it was the best holiday ❤️

Hi guys we stayed here twice and going back this October for H.H.N. You should tell people how far it is to the park and the different ways to get there. You can get there (Cabana Bays) bus’s, go across the street to the other resort and jump on the boat, that’s the best way to go drops you at city walk. Or you can walk the path. The resort across the street is sapphire falls. The best resort we stayed at there was hardrock great pool area great staff and you also get the express passes for the parks plus it’s like a ten minute walk if that to the park.

Great Suite, it's always good to have a seating area, instead of trying to get comfortable sitting on the bed. The Pool view was lovely, but then the Volcano Bay view blew me away. Really like this Resort.

That has got to be one of the most impressive views I've seen on any of these vlogs. Forget maybe seeing a giraffe from Animal Kingdom Lodge, I would sit and watch that all day from my air con room.

I remember watching these before going to the resort myself so I had a slight idea of everything in and around the place. It was definatey worth it and I reccomend it massively :)

Piece of trash, save your money and disappointments, the rooms are old, the carpet smells terribly, no microwave or fridge in the rooms, rooms are so far away from the parking keep off and stay elsewhere.

Me and my family visited in November 2016 and stayed in the Continental and when we were there there was a hot tub where we could look up and see one of the towers being built!
