Debates are discussions with proponents for *both* sides presenting their cases. Arguments are dissertations of theses supported by evidence. In a true debate, both sides present their arguments. These protesters have completely silenced any opposing voices. And regarding students never being wrong? University students, played a significant role in the protests and political activities that led up to the Islamic Revolution in 1979. And there are so many horrible human rights issues around the world that these enlightened college students never responded to... the response to dissidents in Syria… Iran… Russia… the Uyghur Detentions in Xinjiang, China… One might wonder why such disparities in response exist. Are these protests genuinely grassroots, or might there be other motivations or influences at play? Additionally, some participants in recent protests have made extreme statements, including "Death to Jews" and "Death to America." These instances, which go beyond free speech into incitement, deserve scrutiny and raise concerns about the underlying agendas of these movements. While protest is a vital part of democratic engagement, the focus and conduct of university protests should reflect a commitment to true debate and consideration of all human rights violations, regardless of geographic or political alignment.
