+tommykl Nah, they'd always have the best two teams sure, but every team can have an off day. When you give them 10 teams each you're eliminating that statistical flux
@ferzy09 I get 80-90 percent if they are from geography of India and Asia. And about Science and Maths. I not interested in politicians, actors, musicians of UK/Europe.
Do you not have a similar television series in The United States ? Upon reflection, I think such a series would be well worth watching. I would love to see a pitch between the best of our Universities and yours. To wit, a competition between what many over here so often dismiss as a `dumbed down` Educational system and those Universities which are often placed amongst the very best in the world.
Steve DL I don’t know what you mean? Are you calling the US dumb? We have some of if not the smartest over here. MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, CalTech, Brown, UChicago, Northwestern, Cornell, Rice, etc.......
justlikeitsounds I am rooting for Bristol. But you are absolutely right, from the first minute on they looked listless, lifeless and strangely drowsy. As if they did not care at all. I am certain that they are actually a much better team.
You forgot about Bristol's previous performances - even the best teams can have a bad day, as we saw in the final last year. I don't mind CC, they don't waste time unlike other teams but about time for a different university to win I think. PS - Paxman not allowing 'macaroni' must have been a factor, made worse by him allowing 'elephantitis' to CC later on!
When they asked them to identify the composer of some lesser known classical music I was thinking "Oh man thats the calibre of student they're looking for on this show? Someone who listens to classical music in their free time?" but then later when the avengers and studio ghibli questions were asked, I got so excited that I was able to answer them! Even though I only answered two and they answered some 50 questions, I still felt like I was rubbing shoulders with amazing people
Yup. I'm a new watcher of these quizzes...but it seems to me like he favors Oxbridge colleges and gives them a lot more license and leeway and WAY less scorn when they cock up. At 12:06 Ventakesh is told "Varicella" but he says clearly, "FAricella", and blithely Paxman says, "Yes, Varicella is correct." How often has he scorned contestants saying, "You were correctly told [xyz] but you didn't say that"? Often. But not here. He pisses me off.
Thank you so much for the upload, Psi. You rock! Bristol have turned in a real stinker this time. Hope they can turn things around in their next match. Or are they really not all that good and merely had bad opponents in the previous two rounds?
27:18 Lol, Bristol decided to wake up after an eleven minute nap (last point gained around 16:00). I'm afraid, they chose a little late into the game to pick up the ball again but at least there was an effort, eh?
theres a UC video ive been trying to find where a picture round is the lineups for a sporting event. the starter is the 1999 champions league final. if anyone knows this vid, please put the link in the replies. im desperate ngl
Yoga is not a branch of Hinduism Yoga is the father and mother of all faiths and is at the basis of every institututionsl religion in the world (Except for palaeontology and evolution, of course, which are fictitious fields of study)
The CC team are exceptionally charming but the Bristol team are in no way opposite, merely not as charming. The Bristol captain's sullenness does not reflect a sour woman for she smiles very sweetly a number of times in this contest.
CORPUS CHRISTI VENKATESH......My kicks lou v bet u thought i was gonna say kang, jumped on the mic, flows too deep, but you thought i was gonna say nang, try set pace that i never could beat, bet you thought i was gonna say ran
it's nice to see these older episodes again, and a Jeremy Paxman who actually gives a shit about his job as a host. Nowadays he is phoning it in, and barely even that
I often feel ashamed that there are people this intelligent in the world compared to me, but then again, I'm betting not one of them could put up a shelf.
PPE is a standard degree programme in the UK (and also in some other universities in commonwealth countries) basically designed for those who're interested in leadership positions...
When I see a cute girl in the thumbnail I click, and then try to impress her with my shouting out answers without the help of a buzzer or conferring. I feel I do rather well, but the reactions on the young woman's part leave something to be desired.
