christeebs Cooper did mention on Twitter, apart from the fact that her beret was to cover up her hair loss to all its haters, that Braddock was on some meds ...
Hello everyone in the comments, I'm coming back to this over a year after it was filmed and it's quite weird having this as a record of that time. I had a minor breakdown between episodes and my confidence wasn't great going into the second round, and I did on some level want to get knocked out to have it over with (thank you Dani). I think I would have had a better shot at it if I'd gone on even this year (second year undergrad) rather than first year undergrad in terms of confidence personally and in terms of training up the team (which I know e.g. Leo did) as well as knowledge. It's also weird seeing that when I was considerably thinner (I could wear that jumper because I was underweight and therefore always cold) and had a considerable bald patch where I had pulled out my own hair due to stress hence the hat. Anyway the experience was good I met some great people from the other teams through it and I recommend doing it!
you absolutely smashed it there! it's always satisfying to see another chick slaying all other competitors too I feel you on the mental health stuff, hope you're better and remember to care for yourself
Cooper is a beast. Will be looking forward to St Peter's - Oxford in the 2nd round, especially that mustache. And I'm always delighted whenever I see fellow Americans on the program.
The Oxford team is looking good, though Braddock from Geneva really has to pick up his game compared to the rest of his team. Hodgson and Cooper look really strong. For students of, respectively, statistics and biological sciences, they seem very knowledgeable on humanities related topics.
Wow, many thanks for such a fast upload. I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit, due in no small part to the dapper gentleman Mr. Williford, with his gorgeous face, stunning blue eyes, impressive mustache, handsome attire, gentlemanly southern accent and thoughtfully intelligent answers. Having said that, Bravo to the winning team: great job! Looking forward to seeing you all again.
S48 LOSERS’ TABLE Despite being on pace for a triple-digit finish, Pembroke managed to go from 60 points to 35 between minutes 12 and 24. Incredibly, they ended up with the worst score yet this season. And now with only three more first-round games to play, Emmanuel - Cambridge have secured the first of the highest-scoring losers' places and will have the chance to reach the second round. 175 Emmanuel - Cambridge ------------------- 150 Exeter 150 Hertford - Oxford 110 Queen’s - Belfast ------------------- 105 York 90 SOAS 75 Pembroke - Oxford 75 Sidney Sussex - Cambridge 55 London - Institute in Paris 55 Strathclyde 50 Pembroke - Cambridge
2 Pembroke Oxfords? If Queens-Belfast go through on 110 it will signal that this season's teams are indeed pretty crappy, AND/OR the selection process is :/
Deo's beauty is mesmerising (to me). Perhaps I'm stereotypical here but at the first glance looking at her I had the feeling the girl is a Londoner. Her make-up style, perhaps?
At the start of the match, I thought: surely this will be a close one; and: the losing team will probably earn enough points to come back for a playoff round. Was wrong on both counts. The losing team faded badly.
Rosalind Franklin was a pioneering X-ray crystallographer whose techniques produced the first images of DNA. This allowed Francis Watson and James Crick to work out the double-helix structure of DNA, for which they won the Nobel Prize in 1962. Sadly, Watson had already died, so could not be nominated for the award. Neither Watson, Crick nor Franklin "discovered" DNA as such, as it had been known about for some years previously. Their work did, however, permit its structure to be determined for the first time.
Watson and Crick worked out the structure of DNA, but they weren't the ones who discovered it. It had been known about since the 19th century, but it wasn't called "DNA" until the 20th.
Paxman is wrong. 'This bizarre committee is a perennial embarrassment' has 6 double letters, not seven. One question at least I could answer correctly.
Only paying special attention to consonants is a typical quirk of EFL learners trying to come to grips with English spelling. Right. I move to a desert island.
