Quality clutch moments by McKeown! That question about contiguous states is a typical one that would leave you startled under pressure... Hope the other time can advance further anyway.
Love both teams (good teamwork and well-balanced teams make me happy) and it's so much more fun when both sides are well-matched. Ready to entirely enjoy through to the end. Thanks so much Psi!
@@20shourya Bizarrely, I have a degree in US politics and I also thought it was 2011 not 2013! We were probably both thinking of the debt limit crisis of 2011.
Have watched a great many UC contests and cannot recall ever, and I mean ever, seeing Mr Paxman sneer, be smug, or in any other way be other than charming and polite. The very idea is absurd although finds its way predictably on almost all comment threads to a UC episode.
I haven’t seen the video yet. But I have to comment. Why st.john college 2nd match is arranged this close to their 1st quarter-final? There is only one episode in between. It is not fair
McKeown carrying Hazell the Vet? :) 6 starters & several bonus assists! 135:135 tie, 2 minutes to go, a US question and she steps up under pressure and beats Levin to answer New York & New Jersey! Smart AND quick on the buzzer. Hopefully more women like her on UC :)
Joseph Karl Thanks! I try :) What's with your comment about her blouse in the rafters? Was the volume off as u gazed at her in awe for 30 mins? Thought I'd help u out with what was actually going on :P
I wondered if people would get that... in basketball especially, players who have made a significant contribution to a team have their number retired, which means hanging their team singlet in the rafter, and not allowing anybody else to use that number. I know it's Wikipedia, but see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_National_Basketball_Association_retired_jersey_numbers for a brief rundown :D
Joseph Karl Yes as an NBA fan Im familiar with that. Thought Id b fair and check with u first as it sounded quite pervy TBH. Once at a pub quiz a question came up about MJs retired #, I told the guys 23, but in typical guy fashion, they didn't accept it from a female, put down sth else, and got it wrong. They were quite in awe and asked me how I knew it. I didnt bother to tell them I followed the NBA, just 'he's so hot, how could I forget?' :P
Is someone making a joke at 7:49? The first translates to 'black supremacist square' and the third one to 'white square'. The translations are totally wrong.
The first one actually uses the correct Russian and English titles (albeit the extended title is used in the Russian translation), though the third one was indeed wrong.
@@atreyyu1 'Supremacist' derived from 'supremacy'. Hence: 'supremacist' (Cambridge Dictionary), 'supremacist' (Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English), 'supremacist' (Collins English Dictionary), 'supremacist' (Merriam-Webster Dictionary), 'supremacist' (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language), and 'supremacist' (Random House Kernerman Webster's College Dictionary). Also 'supremacism' as well as 'suprematism'.
Newcastle such a frosty team! Felt sorry for poor Reynard for his 2 penalties and the coldness emanating from the other 3, unlike Edinburgh where Carson was 'Hey don't worry/it's ok'. Last episode too when Paxman unfairly didn't give Reynard the points for Saturn, awarding Hosegood instead, Nielsen and her weird boob pocket stared straight ahead coldly. Felt sorry for the guy and his sad face. Sooooo I thought I'd set the record straight with this ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R_96m3cHu3k.html
Let's be honest, we all want to see McKeown versus Woodland. In addition to seeing their intellectual warfare, I would also like to propose some tests of sport and combat in bikinis. You'd probably favour Woodland in hand to hand combat.
jonathan coalecanth Any other UC women you want to see in sport and combat? Not in bikinis, that is. Though I doubt we'll get McKeown and Woodland in bikinis because look what happened to Gail Trimble.
Yes Adam I quite agree! But I'm so impressed by this years young ladies, some of the female contestants are brill, hopefully rebutting the grief the show gets for being too boy-dorkish! McKeown is a great example. What prowess. You could invite McKeown to a dinner party, and it would be a splendid occasion. But onto your main question. I still think Woodland and possibly Nielsen look the most handy with their fists. Woodland having to put up with male dominated Physics will have made her a tough cookie. I reckon the boys on Woodlands team would have been in deep do-do for giggling at the erotic Zeus question, she flashed them a look that said 'BOYS!'. I woudln't put it past Edinburgh Stone admistering a good beating either. I also woudln't have liked being in Mistlin's shoes from the look Chevallier gave him after that dropped starter. She doesn't look the combative type though. I would have Parkin from Magdalene down as dark horse...
jonathan coalecanth Pity, for Southampton. I was expecting more of a fight out of them. But in the end, they were overwhelmed by Newcastle and once they got 130 points, fell asleep. And for McKeown vs Woodland, yes I would enjoy physical combat in addition to intellectual combat. But I would rather see them in catsuits than bikinis; or at least, in swimsuits like this: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/Natalie_Coughlin_and_Dara_Torres.jpg
