I got into law for EXACTLY this reason. I was fired from being a waitress at a pizza restaurant in 1995 because I HAD been a stripper. It didn't sound right to me (it was fine) so I became a lawyer.

Most universities are run like a business. His behavior is going to cause a lot a snickering and bad jokes at the expense of the university. Lots of parents do not want to pay for their kid to go to a university that has a reputation as a party school or have an unsavory reputation. So even though he did nothing wrong, his activities probably would have a negative impact on the university therefore they have to oust him. What puzzles me is his weird desire to be a geriatric porn star. He's like those people who had some success in sports in high school and then spend their lives trying to pretend they could still be professional athletes.

Mr. Grande, my daughter got me hooked to your videos. I'm 68 and don't often watch things on the Internet but I sure do look forward to your videos each day. Your videos have substance and teachable lessons. I appreciate the hard work you do to post a video each day. My understanding of this situation according to local Wisconsin news coverage is that the professor is on paid leave until an independent investigation is completed. It has been suggested that the videos were released now in an attempt to promote his “cooking” show. This is his post-retirement cooking show next year. If that was his plan, he probably achieved his goal….lots of publicity!

I attended UWL when he was first hired. I remember thinking he was a bit immature for his role, trying to fit in with the students by holding guitar jam sessions. He was a feet on the grounds kind of guy and lived the University lifestyle (perhaps a little too much). 😜 He tried to be fun, cool, and engaged, and he was in a sense. Despite my own opinions on the matter, I wish him the best.

I believe this was nothing more than a publicity stunt. Morality clauses extend to private life as professional roles such as chancellor include service as a role model. Joe Gow’s behavior was anything but private and he would have been keenly aware of such clause. He displayed gosh behavior and very publicly lost a job he announced intent to quit.

This is strange on many levels. For one thing, most universities today are liberal enough to insist that there is nothing wrong with "sex work", and that people (usually woman, as in "it's my body") should not be shamed by being called "prostitutes", and certainly not "whores". I fail to see how this case shows the logical support for a "sex worker" who turns out to also work for the university. Is this stuff OK, or is it not OK? Pick one and stay logically consistent.

Similar thing in Manchester University in the UK around 2016. A senior Chemical Engineering lecturer named Nicholas Goddard starred in many adult films as 'Old Nick'. A student recognized him in one of his movies and informed on him and he was fired from his position as lecturer at the university.

@Dr. Grande: I disagree with your conclusion of "anyone should be able to do anything legal as long as it doesn't interfere with their job". This case isn't about shame, or morality. Teachers are not allowed to date their pupils, doctors are not allowed to date their patients. These are just examples but there are solid reasons why. His PUBLIC sexual escapades open him up to Blackmail and CORRUPTION. Therefore, he is a security risk for both the students AND the university! I also wonder, how out of touch are BOTH of them thinking anyone wants to see dinosaurs mating. After seeing what teachers have been upto lately, I am scared for all our children. And no, teachers aren't surrogate parents, but they have the responsibility to keep all children safe and lately it's loke dropping a child off at a lions den daily.

I have another simpler theory as to why these two decided to display themselves publicly. And it doesn’t even require phd education or a provocative social experiment. They’re exhibitionists who find it exciting. And the more fuss, the more people will look. Whether they enjoy it is another matter. I’m not really interested in their activities one way or another but if they lose their jobs, oh well!

I had the feeling that this video would have an exquisite selection of puns and world play, and it did not disappoint. Happy new year Dr.!!

In 1972 in California I took a college course titled something like: The Biology of SEX... it was actually a very functional and somewhat difficult course that dealt with not just the physiology of human sexual practices and reproduction, but the social, cultural, and psychological aspects... out of probably 100 students the first day, approx. 20-30 walked out of the class totally shocked... LOL... and the next semester they changed the "sex" part to Human Reproduction... and probably toned it down a bit... out of my meandering 6 years in college, the only Professor I remember, by name, is Dr Walt Haland... he was a true inspiration... Note: just to show the class was not a walk in the park... I was so busy with studies that I never even thought to hit on any of the girls that stayed in the class... LOL... the perfect line would have been "do you want to get together to 'study' ?"... 😁

The woke UW system was already an embarrassment. This didn't cause them to sink any lower.
